Explore Legends and Stories to Discover its Enigmas and Mysteries.
Today 01-02-2026 occurs the Full Snow Moon.
This is the second full moon this year.
Full moons have been linked to many myths and legends throughout the years, including the end of the world, lunacy and even werewolves.
For many years, people have believed that there is a connection between a full moon and lunacy.
In fact the word "lunacy" comes from Luna, the Roman goddess of the moon, who was said to ride through the sky each night.
Some people still believes that werewolves could appear during this full moon.
The legend has its origin in pagan tribes, where the initiation of warriors was linked to the transformation of man into a wolf.
"Snow Moon" as this is the name given in the northern hemisphere to the first full moon of February, a time of snowstorms in this region.
For thousands of years Snow Moon has also been called Storm Moon and Hunger Moon.
Among Native American tribes, it was also known as Bone Moon because there was so little food that people gnawed bones to survive.
This was the Full Snow Moon of 2026.
