Kind Understanding Challenge

I used to wonder about the meaning of life

I used to wonder about my purse for this life

Now that I've wondered, lived, questioned and fought

I can tell you, I have not found the answer to those questions

And I'm okay with that

All the knowledge I've gathered has shaped me

And taught me that

To make this life better for us and for others

We have to stop judging people

We have to understand the reason behind a bad gesture

The reason behind a hostile answer

We have to step back

And recognize that we are all living the same life

We are not the only ones struggling

And yes

Some struggle more than others

Not saying otherwise

Believe me

I know about the struggle

I'm just saying

Grudges are not good for this world

We cannot move forward without consensus

We need to leave behind the hate

And allow ourselves to understand

If people have hurt you

Tell them how they made you feel

Then walk away

Remember that life is not about the enemies you have

Life is about the people you love

Focus on your loved ones

Reciprocate the love

What has helped me?

A new way of seeing life

It's called being understanding

(Or at least pushing yourself to trying to understand)

I know it's not easy AT ALL to listen the other side

But it's a must for a better world

Conversations and understanding make a better world

So I've been practicing it

I see it as a new challenge in my life

A challenge I hope we can all accept.

My Journey with Depression

Chapter: Lost In Disbelief

It had been 4 months since I had stopped all my medication for depression and anxiety. And I had been trying to convince myself that I had been cured.

"I don't need those meds anymore," I kept telling myself.

After all, I was feeling a little bit happier around people. I had been showing up to some events, and actually stayed until the end.

Yet, something was not right. I couldn't figure out what was happening to me. Life was kind in most of its ways to me but my feelings we're not at peace. The rainfall of tears continued, I saw its pattern change: once a month, biweekely, weekly. I noticed it's triggers, I knew what was affecting me but my hands were tied. I was emotionally drained, had no strength to fight another battle. Still, I felt the need to uphold my perfect smile in front of people.

"People are expecting you to be strong," I whispered to myself countless of times.

I was not in a good place

Let me be. Excersing my right.

I'm not trying to start an argument. I'm simply exercising my freedom of speech. I'd like to express how a Republican, supporting Trump, makes me feel. Don't get me wrong, I have a Republican friend😜.

Ready? Here is what I have to say:

What I don't like is that MANY Republicans don't acccept a person's humanity because they lack a piece of paper. Migration should not be penalized, nothing belongs to us. Why do we have borders in the first place? But that's not today's point. The point is that people are being dehumanized. They still call a human being illegal nowadays. What upsets me the most is that people don't like to acknowledge that many of the people who Republicans call "illegal" are native to this land, TheAmericas. What I don't like is that you don't know what's The Americas. What I don't like is that you hide behind a god who your ancestors declared to be the only one. Ignoring our ancestors' legacy and their words of wisdom. You want us to read your old book. If we reject it, you see us different... #labels.

Groups are created by labeling us, by creating groups our views are changed. You see🤔, labels confuse people because labels have different meanings. Sometimes people feel entitled because their label may sound fancy so they treat people differently. Today, that is the case. The United States of America needs us right about now. It's time for us to come together. (Remember, only when we wear other people's shoes is when we really understand them).

We 👏🏽 need👏🏽to 👏🏽 be 👏🏽 understanding👏🏽.
