Tabitha, though still letting out a snarl every few breaths, stayed perfectly still. Fine, if this was how Maxie was going to play this- the best he could do was keep his dignity.

He scoffed, and would’ve crossed his arms were he able to. He waited patiently, though is foot was quietly tapping on the ground as he tried to contain his fury.

As much as this was apparently needed, Maxie couldn’t help but feel a twinge of regret over the way things had unfolded. “It didn’t have to end like this, I hope you know that. There’s no going back now, I know that, but-” Before he can finish his train of thought, the door opens, and two agents enter. “Oh good. You’re here. Tabitha is a traitor. He is to be escorted to the biological division, and given to them as a test subject.” The two give a quick, “yes Leader Maxie!” Before they pull the chair from the room. 

Now alone, and left to his thoughts, Maxie seats himself in his chair with a sigh. “...I need a goddamned drink.”

“You wouldn’t dare.” He hissed through his teeth. He would much rather die in infamy rather than live without his humanity. He was not going to be treated like a damned lab rattata. 

He didn’t know much about the section of the science department that worked on human experimentation- that was Courtney’s jurisdiction, as Tabitha was focused on the technology division in order to make the Magma Suit.

All he knew was that it was not a good thing in the slightest. 

“I’d like to see you even try.”

“That’s the thing though, my loyal administrator. I won’t have to do anything else other than give the order. And perhaps attend a few more experiments. I wouldn’t want you to suffer by yourself, of course.” He mutters, as he presses a button on his desk. “In a few moments, two grunts I personally trust will arrive, and they will haul you off to your new home. Out of respect for our previous working relationship, I’ll allow you to keep your uniform.”

Investigate Team Magma was the order given by Cyrus. Not be nosy but just get a honest and basic overview of the organization. Saturn would keep manners at the forefront and he had expected shadowing a magma admin.

What a fascinating twist the leader himself was who he actually was standing before. A bow then a hand to be shaken for politeness.

A soft smirk pulls at Maxie’s lips, before he extends his own hand, and firmly shakes the other man’s hand. It wasn’t a rough handshake, or one that was too weak. Like every other thing else the man did, it was calculated, and regulated to a tee.

“You must be Saturn. It is good to meet you.”

Tabitha lifts his chin, not only allowing the knife more room, but looking up into Maxie’s eyes. He cast a hateful glare. “It’s simple. Power, respect, a following- That, and the fact that I am more deserving and capable than you are. Arceus, some could even say that I was doing it to save the planet! I’ve warned you that Primal Reversion would wreak havoc, yet you plan to continue anyways.”

Part of him wanted to slice the man’s throat right then and there, but... No. He was not some common thug. He wasn’t like Giovanni. He just couldn’t do it. However... “You know what. I’ve changed my mind.” He flips the knife until it’s closed, then drops it into a pocket. “I’m not going to kill you, Tabitha. However... I will be donating use of you, and your body to the scientific department. Surely they have some experiment that they’ve needed a human subject for.

“Don’t waste me time.” Tabitha spat, seeming to not care that he was restrained and held at knifepoint.  “So, you’ve found out. So I’ve lost- stop twiddling your thumbs and do something, or are you really the coward I knew you were?”

“I am no coward, Tabitha. If I may ask, when did you decide to betray me?” He asks, pressing the razor-sharp blade softly against Tabitha’s neck. “I’d sincerely like to know. I did trust you, after all. Show me some respect in your final moments, won’t you?” He wasn’t actually going to kill him. Not yet, at least.

“Good Arceus, don’t just stand there!”

“Oh, dear. My loyal admin is peril. Whatever should I do.” He calmly states, idly twirling the butterfly knife in his hand.
