إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا يُسَارِعُونَ فِي الْخَيْرَاتِ وَيَدْعُونَنَا رَغَبًا وَرَهَبًا وَكَانُوا لَنَا خَاشِعِينَ ﴿۹۰﴾

They raced with each other in good works and called on Us out of yearning and awe, and they were humble to Us (Al Anbiya: 90)

A love like that of Zakariya and his wife, who desperately wanted a child but were tested with a lack of fertility. But rather than turn bitter or ask 'why did Allah do this to us?' they never lost hope in the Most Generous. They were patient. And while they waited, they raced to seek Allah's pleasure — together.

And Allah rewarded them with Yahya. Allah rewarded them by praising them in the Quran. Allah rewarded them by using them as an example, for you and me to have hope and gain inspiration. May Allah allow us to follow their example.
