Nearly two years ago, I applied and was accepted to a Malevolent fanzine whose primary theme was fairy tales. Over the course of the next few months, myself, alongside a trove of insanely talented creatives, all of who were equally as (even more!) in love with the work Harlan Guthrie has done with Malevolent, devoted our capabilities to create this wonderful collaborative effort:
Lovely, Dark, and Deep: A Malevolent Fairy Tale Zine!
Not only was I asked to complete an artwork for this zine, I was asked to do the cover art! I'm so thankful to have been trusted with and given this opportunity!! Each artwork and associated written work within the zine itself were all themed around the concept of fairy tales, and I chose to draw inspiration from Alice in Wonderland. Specifically, the illustrations done by Charles Robinson:
and Sir John Tenniel:
As of now, the zine will only be available as a digital pdf. Hopefully, in the future, circumstances will fall in our favor enough to see a physical release made manifest!!! Again, I'd love to thank the mods over at @malevolentfairytalezine for the opportunity of contributing to their amazing zine!!! I'd love to be more involved with the horror fiction podcast community in the future, and hopefully that means more involvement in zines!!!
I LOVE DRAWINGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
