Getting lost in the flowers đ¸đźđ¸đź
xinfallibilisâ:
â âDevilâs hide and seek? No, never.â Her curiosity was piqued. Humans had such strange games on Earth. âIt doesnât sound so pleasant, whatever it isâŚâ
The fact that a group had gone missing because of this game caused a shiver to run up the goddessâs spine. It seems as though the game was harmless in the beginning but took a turn for the worse. She hoped the group would be found and alright, in the end.Â
âI wonder if I could be of any other help, though?â
âIt isnât, a common game that young teenagers play that always lead to someone dead orâŚin a state they could never change.â He added glanced at the woman and stopped for a moment with a frown on his face. âWell, if you are willing if you work somewhere or go to school that if you hear someone mention about the group or the game is be sure to mention to contact me.â
--- She didnât go to school or work anywhere. At least not on Earth, but perhaps she could roam around schools and neighborhoods where high school students lived and see if she could pick up on any clues to help Darius.
âWell I study online and my job is run from my own home. I make flower arrangements for special events.â She wasnât completely lying but it was a good cover up since she couldnât outright say she was a goddess who enjoyed being on Earth.Â
âBut I could always keep a lookout in some areas if I know students frequent them? If you want my opinion,â Persephone pushed a lock of hair behind her ear and looked up at the detective seriously. âIf students are playing this game, maybe itâs something theyâre purposely trying to keep hidden regardless of the outcome of the game. So maybe asking around wonât exactly be your best method?â
xinfallibilisâ:
â Poseidonâs eyebrow rose at her answer. So she was from a swampâŚya donât hear that every day. Though the God of the Sea had certainly seen and heard his fair share of things that werenât so common.Â
âWell, Iâm a drifter, as they say. I go from place tâplace not looking for anything in particular. Just a good ole bar with some damn good whiskey. Not too much to ask, I donât thinkâŚâ
He let the silence fall over them for a moment as he looked from her to the ocean as it crashed against the sand. Its sound called to him like a lullaby, soothing and welcoming. The sea was, after all, the only thing that was truly home to him.
âUp hereâs pretty far from the swamps, though. Where in the south are you from, MissâŚ?
âA drifter? Well, wanders tend to go to this town. Something about it being eerie but in a good way.â She smirked glanced at the man, taking note of the bottle and play a bit of her pendent with a smirk. âAnd the best bars here with the fishermen having good liquor, but Iâm more as a whiskey time. Keep the spirits away.â
With the silence fall over, her eyes went back to the sea seeing how different it was compare to the Caribbean that she sometimes go if there wasnât some type of things that go bump into the night follow her.
âLouisiana, New Orleans.â She answer, shrugged as she turn her attention to the man again. âGot tired of the swamps with the things that come out from there. Much more than gators, but Iâm Voodoo QueenâŚI tend to get odds things happen. Beside, I get less here in the north and the ocean here is pretty.â
--- âVoodoo Queen, eh? Itâs not often Iâm in the presence of royalty.â He lied through his teeth as he smirked, eyes now drifting to meet hers. There was a calmness to her he had not seen before, though an underlying ferocity lay dormant for the time being. He could sense it and it struck him curiously.Â
âI know Iâve seen my fair share of odd things in my past. Things people wouldnât even think were true.â He shrugged as he downed the last bit of whiskey from his bottle. âExplain voodoo, or the kind you do. There are different kinds, right?â
--- The drunkard was squirming and yelping in pain as Poseidonâs grip became tighter and tighter. If anything, heâd leave the wrist bruised as a temporary reminder to not be a dick to others, especially women. Letting the man go finally, he grabbed him by the collar and gave him a low but fierce warning.Â
âTry that again while Iâm around and yer body will be floatinâ down the Pacific, ya hear?âÂ
The drunkard nodded fearfully, and as soon as he was let go, he stumbled out of the establishment in a hurry. Now that the problem was gone, he could go back to drinking. He downed the drink the woman gave him, then decided to join her.
Poseidon moved to the bar and ordered another drink, seating himself comfortably in one of the stools and glanced over at her once low chatter perked up again. âIâm in this bar pretty often and this is the first time Iâve seen the likes of you around. Where ya from, if you donât mind my askinâ?
xinfallibilisâ:
â A case? Hm. How interestingâŚ
Persephone could only smile back at the man, returning his gesture by shaking his hand in greeting. âPriscilla. Student in botany. Sorry, it isnât as cool sounding as Detective.âÂ
Letting go of his hand, the goddess put her own phone away and looked up at Darius curiously. âI must admit that Iâve never met a detective before. I can hardly imagine what you must see and deal with on your cases every day. Is it a tiring job?â
âA pleasure, Priscilla.â He nodded his head, feeling her let go of his and dig his hands in his pocket with a shrug. âIt depends on a case, long ones tend to be tiring emotionally and physically but if you are lucky you get a short and simple ones. However this one isnât the case, a simple urban legend game already cause a group to missing in this area.â
Looking at the student, he turn around to see if any younger students or anyone is listen before turn to her again. âI donât believe you heard of Devilâs hide and seek?â
--- âDevilâs hide and seek? No, never.â Her curiosity was piqued. Humans had such strange games on Earth. âIt doesnât sound so pleasant, whatever it is...â
The fact that a group had gone missing because of this game caused a shiver to run up the goddessâs spine. It seems as though the game was harmless in the beginning but took a turn for the worse. She hoped the group would be found and alright, in the end.Â
âI wonder if I could be of any other help, though?â

--- Blue depths glanced over his waiter in appreciation, smirking all the while as he spoke. With a glance to the rooms in the back, Zeus hoped things could eventually lead there at some point. But first, heâd have his fun here.
âFair enough. Now lie back and relax.â The god winked devilishly at his waiter as he grabbed hold of the salt shaker and shook some out onto the other maleâs lower torso. Standing to his full height of 6â˛4, he bent down and gazed upon his waiterâs face for a reaction as his tongue flicked out and slowly licked away the salt.Â
At it trailed up his stomach, he stopped, took the shot and downed it with ease. And with slow, calculating movements, Zeus bent over his waiter so their faces were merely inches from each other. âI dare say youâre rather delicious...â Then he leaned forward and let his lips touch the otherâs gently as he sucked on the lime before pulling away.
âThey werenât actual dinner plans. Just more of plans not to take out for the first time since I moved here.â Robin turned around to kneel and start picking up the spoiled food, dropping them in one of the bags.
âOh,â Her head snapped up to meet the manâs gaze, eyes wide with surprise. The offer was a shock, as kind as it was. âRobin, my name is Robin but thank youâŚyou donât have to do that, really. Iâm new here and donât even know what there are for restaurants in the area, besides the pizza place on the corner.â
Still, she smiled at his gesture and went back to picking up the food. âI really appreciate the offer, though. It is truly kind of you. Besides, if anything I should be the one making it up to you for catching me.â
â âRobin. Thatâs a pretty name.â Apollo commented with a great big smile. It suited her. âYou would be making it up to me by joining me. I insist, especially now that youâre telling me you donât know what is in the area. This place has a variety of foods! Youâve got your Italian, Indian, Turkish, Greek, you name it! Personally, thereâs one Greek restaurant in particular that is fantasticâŚâÂ
Squatting down, he helped Robin pick up the food and place them in a bag, his eyes not leaving her face. âIâm Anthony, by the way. Itâs really nice to meet you.â
Once the groceries were in the bag, he took it and stood so she wouldnât have to. It was heavy enough already so for her to walk with it all, heâd feel bad for it. âHow about this? I give you my number, you think it over, and you call me to let me know? Does that sound alright?â He wasnât being too forward, right?Â
âItâs nice to meet you, too.â She stood, wiping the invisible dirt off of her hands and onto her jeans, done more subconsciously than anything else. Having been nothing alone since she moved to the city, would it really be that horrible if she accepted the offer and had dinner with handsome stranger? It wasnât like she was bringing him to her apartmentâŚ
âHow about this? I get off of my independent high horse and accept your kind offer.â Robin smiled shyly, tucking a stray lock of hair behind her ear. âIâm sorry, Iâm not really used to the kindness of strangersâŚor people helping meâŚâ
It was an embarrassing truth.
âIf you let me run what is left of my groceries back to my apartment, I can meet you back here in ten to fifteen minutes. If thatâs alrightâŚâ
--- A wide toothy grin spread on Apolloâs face as she accepted his invitation to dinner, though it quickly fell at the small confession. It still never sat right with him after countless millennia the horrible cruelty of others, whether it was a small act or on a larger scale. He could never understand why humans, or even gods for that matter, could just get along. Apollo wasnât a naive god, though he did live in his own wistful, happy bubble.Â
âYou donât need to apologize. I understand. It isnât something one sees too much these days, unfortunately.â The god shrugged it off. âBut itâs always best to never lose faith in humanity. Thereâs always someone out there willing to help and be kind.â
A bit philosophical there, Apollo. Smooth.
Apollo looked around to make sure all her groceries were back in her bag before agreeing to her idea. Perhaps she wasnât so keen on sharing numbers just yet. âSure, that works! Luckily itâs a nice day, so Iâll hang out on one of these benches here and wait for you. Do you need help carrying these, though? You did struggle a bit with them...â
Gladiator Theme - Now We Are Free - Peter Hollens Acappella Cover (Lisa Gerrard & Hans Zimmer)
Leto and her children, Aretmis and Apollo, under the protection of Poseidon
When Leto was pregnant, Hera sent the monstrous serpent Python to kill her. But Zeus ordered the wind Boreas to convey Leto to Poseidon. Poseidon gave her shelter, and in order escape Heraâs notice, he took her to an island and covered the island with waves. Later, he brought the island to a higher position; this island was called Delos. There Leto bore Apollo and Artemis, both who were blessed by Poseidon.
