Triangular base of a candelabrum with Mercurius, Hercules and Apollo
Found in the Santuario di Attis.
Dated to first century AD.
On the lower part are sphinxes and rosettes. On each side is a deity: Mercurius leaning on a small pier, Hercules at an altar, Apollo holding a pointing stick and leaning on a small pier. In front of Apollo is a raven, the bird of prophecy, sitting on a sphere, symbol of the muse Urania.
