I’ve been playing ENSTARS (EN specifically) for 1 year now (joined 10 years late) but I personally don’t feel comfortable calling myself an “Enstarrie” publicly due to the toxic English fandom (mainly with 4KATSUKI, Mega Sphere, Tsumugi haircut, “! Era was better”, lore FOMO, falling for misinformation very often, etc.) It kinda reminds me of Pokémon fandom debates on which generation was better.

I just want to have fun. I have enough problems in my life, Enstars and Project SEKAI are my happy places.

Can I still call myself an Enstarrie, even if I don’t interact with the fandom regularly, or like/don’t mind the new changes in the story? I’m personally excited for EN to get them later on.

Of course you can call your self Enstarrie/a fan. There's no time or engagement requirements for that. I know fandoms get gatekeepy but the longer a franchise goes on, the more fans with different experiences there are. I've been Enstars fan for quite a while but I haven't been here for 11 years either. Also, I'm for example an IDOLiSH7 fan but I'm not following it nearly as intensely as Enstars. Think of it this way... for some fandoms you even can't be an OG because you weren't born then. 😆 I wasn't there to watch the original Star Trek in 60s! (ok, let's get more serious now)

I sometimes grumble about wrong/dated impressions of characters, like yesterday with Eccentrics and ex-fine, but the problem for me there isn't that people don't know every detail ever, it's that they don't want to understand if they are shown/told otherwise or get that the characters and stories evolve and deny things. I was also just thinking the evolution/development thing as I was re-reading the first part of VS Audience: how big difference there already is in Ibuki in VS Audience and and in Akatsuki VS Crazy:B. Apply the same logic to other characters too, just spread across different time periods.

I know the FOMO is sometimes hard to deal with. But just get to know things in your own pace and in what capacity you want to. That's why I add to all my screenshots here which story they are from. That way the interested people can go read it themselves or at least know where some tidbit came from. I try to give story sources in text as much I can too, I don't always do the best job at it and I don't always remember exactly where something came from. (I should do better on twt though, it's harder there with limited space and no tags >.<) It probably comes off as a bit arrogant sometimes when I go "actually ☝️🤓" because I'm canon stickler, so sorry if that adds to people's FOMO. 😅

I think the "have to have been here since the start" is again kind of unique to eng fandoms. I think some of it was caused by all the "normies" pouring into fandom spaces during covid (I speak generally about fandoms now). Again, the problem isn't the new people, fandoms need that, it's the new people who don't want to learn the fandom rules. And use your own brain, don't just parrot others blindly. I follow fans who have been there longer than I have and fans who have been there only a little while, it's fun to see both.

If you just act nicely and are willing to learn and listening, everything's fine. JUST HAVE FUN. Do things you want to and don't do things you don't want to. Interact with fandom as little or as much as you want to. Enjoy the parts you want to enjoy of the game and whatever extra things you find fun. Don't care so much about what the fandom thinks and know that there are like-minded people there.

I'm also looking forward to things coming to EN. There's a lot of fun ahead! Kagetsu is of course what I'm waiting the most (so close but so far!) but it's not the only thing. Right now I'm enjoying playing the summer Treasure Hunt again, it's really fun. ✌️

Oh, I didn't know Kei Ichikawa's A Long & Short Love Story had colour highlights here and there and lots of full-colour illustrations! It was very cute manga. 🩷

Why are the Itsunuis so expensive!? I wish I could get one and take cute photos of it.

They are kinda pricy to begin with, you can choose who you want and they are sold only a limited time so people get the ones they really want, thus there's not much going to secondhand market.

A lot of merch gets to secondhand market because they are sold in blind boxes or characters you want are grouped with someone you don't want. But something like itsunui isn't that.

Pattythree will probably resell them at some point, try to get one then. ^^ The pre-order periods are pretty short. If you know you won't have disposable income ready at any given time, start itsunui savings? :D

Pattythree won't sell directly outside Japan, so you need to use a proxy service to buy from them (Buyee, Zenmarket, Doorzo, From Japan, Neokyo, Japan Rabbit...).

Holy moly the... The treasure maps aren't time gated at all????

Nope!! \o/ I was prepared for it too, so I was careful but then it unlocked the underground cave after reaching desert goal. :D EN/CN/KR/TW pitied us and made it easier by removing time-gating and giving the option to look around the map and reveal tiles. xD

Might I add onto this that I feel this is also the main reason why I feel people had such visceral reaction when Wish happened? As in, people couldn't get out of the box they put Tsumugi in of being depressed and taking anything bad as a coping mechanism, even oomf has told me stuff like overwork can also be onto him as because he wanted to escape his thoughts

Some people said he wouldn't willingly go to Eichi again (even if canon did say otherwise, hello Hiyori's table game story where exfine was together peacefully again!) and people wouldn't take his haircut as breaking his promise with Natsume when I often feel it was more made to extend his promise to not only him, but to Switch and all his other friends too (including the new Juniors Esu and Raika, and other NewDi guys like Madara and Tsukasa, even Eichi was there!

I feel people often reduce Tsumugi to his ship with Natsume and Eichi, and while I don't have more hurtful feelings about one the ships anymore and I am a fan of the other ship, I still feel people are stuck on yumenosaki Tsumugi and still think he is miserable 24/7, when in reality he has tried to grow and move on from his own depression and when Wish came it shock them to the point they thought Wish was super ooc for Tsumugi

(I'm sorry for still spamming about Wish and Tsumugi, I feel the fandom reaction made irrepairable damage and scars to me I'm still kinda traumatized, thought thankfully it didn't extend to the song or story or outfits themselves)

Oh yeah, people were so weird about Wish and Tsumugi too. They can write all the explanations in the story (as they did in Wish) and still people just won't take it because they are stuck on specific image of the character. 🫠 In general, people also uwu-fy Tsumugi a lot, especially when it comes to interactions with Eichi.

There's this tug o' war about people wanting the characters to get development yet still stay miserable. But if they relapse after some move forward, that's bad too. 🤷‍♀️ Leo is great example of this but it applies to other characters too.

Wish definitely suffered a bit because it came only a month after Kagetsu, so people were still yelling about ooc Keito, so it turned to "everyone's ooc now!!1!". Although Wish definitely would've caused uproar (in eng fandom) even without Kagetsu.

I saw just a day or two ago someone say that interacting with other language fandoms gives you a lot more perspective because eng fandom acts in a certain way. Like there's a lot casual negativity, everyone talks like "Enstars is shit" yet still they are here??? I even just today saw someone's tweet of that new IDOLiSH7 Yuki & Momo dance card and Wataru & Eichi Tempest dance card with something like "yaoigold vs yaoislop". I was honestly quite angry.

With that I mean to say that eng fandom is disposed to view anything negatively but in for example Japanese fandom you can more easily find people who say things like "this is fun" and "I'm looking forward what's to come". (Don't get me wrong though, there are terrible people there too.)

I think Wish was wonderfully written story. ^^

Some people get a bit weird about the Eccentrics... I also think they are stuck in the War time with them but things have moved on so much since then.

I think same often goes for ex-fine too, people talk like they couldn't even be in the same room with Eichi and conveniently forget things like Hiyori being in the same hobby circle with him...

People need to read Altered without uwu-eccentrics-glasses. (And for Eichi & Hiyori White Headdress, for ex-fine also Games With Old Friends.)

So how expensive is official Ibuki merch? Is the character tax high or low? (I can convert the prices myself later on)

Low character tax. He's not popular, sadly. Good for second-hand market though. That goes whether it's solo merch or Akatsuki. Akatsuki is very low character tax unit (it was so before Ibuki joined too), no one is expensive to collect.

These days you can get his Furyu unit nui for less than 2k yen. All card/paper/sticker and (most) badge merch is cheap, manjuu and mochi plushies go for 500-1.5k yen. Anicafe acrylic stands are under 1k yen too.

The exceptions are itsunui of course, they are expensive no matter who it is, and his 4piece acrylic stand (it's his casual outfit portrait + 4piece logo) because it's so rare. Any limited merch can be expensive but you might not even see them sold (like Superbloom merch).

Akatsuki unit acrylic stand is sometimes sold too and in high price but DON'T BUY IT NOW if it's something you'd like. When MDU unit acrylic stands were released, Pattythree said the other unit acrylic stands would get a resale at some point.

What are your thoughts on ENSTARS events? Do you prefer Unit Song, Tour Live or hybrid?

I personally find Unit Song events to be less stressful than the others so I like them more but I’m not against the other types.

Song events are certainly easiest but tours are nice because you can easily get two copies of a 5* and possibly one copy of the other 5* too. And three copies is less work too if the one you want happens to be the 6 mil reward (I always take a 5* card reward from tours). Hybrid has the upside of getting the Office outfits from ribbon shop but the higher points required for card rewards is meh. So even though SS Finals and Origin Altered were some of my favourite events, I'm glad they are somewhat rare. (well, SS Finals was its own type of event, I wonder if MM world tour final will be something similar?)

I think it's great there are different types, so it won't get boring. Because even though song events are easiest, when there are a lot of them in row, I start to miss a tour to play for a change. ^^ Like in 1.5 story, there was six song events between Blackjack and Graduation. And since EN got Proseka collab early, there will be ELEVEN song events between VS Gladiator and Mega Stream Prequel tours. :O (and it was eight for JP)
