01. the ` family ` adeline works for is an old aristocratic family with a long history —— a very traditional family with traditional values. they’re the ` kingley’s ` ( they changed their last name years ago because it sounded more prestigious ).

her father, adrian, is the YOUNGEST of the kingsley’ & the least useful in the family; not only did he do nothing for the family, but he also fooled around with too many women ( that’s where adeline & her brother’s came from ). that’s why her father used his own children. he didn’t educate them because it was the right thing to do. he did it to ELEVATE his own value in the family. turns out, this was the only CORRECT judgement her father made in his life. his children were capable, more than he ever could be.
