the story
her great, great grandfather was an oil tycoon, but slowly the family fourtune dewelled or so her father told her.
she was born is washington state to a dead beat father and a loving mother
the father had turned to selling drugs when he could not support his family and refused to ask for help from others in the family, he made meth to be exact. and it was okay for a time, until the father started using himself. he was in and out of jail once he did.
the mother divorced the father seeing as she did not want to be apart of that life. but the mother was killed because of this, alaska was six and remembers it all. and it was the father who killed her, enraged his wife would do such a thing when he was in prison (for a meth charge, go figure)
she moved to nyc the moment she was 18, she used up all the money she had been saving working three jobs on top of school. it was a shit apartment but it was hers. this was when she met others of her family, and they took her under their wing. they could believe when she told them how her father was, but finally. alaska was apart of a family. and it seemed her life changed overnight.
and because of this alaska was put into foster care. she has not seen her father since before he was put into prison, her mother would not allow it, and now since he is out she has so much hate for him she will never see him again
they allowed her her space, but paid for a nicer apartment within the city, and because of this, alaskaโs family had ties to the nyc ballet company. she had spent time between class, homework and work at the studio in whatever city she was in. it had been her saving grace.
her personality before getting sober
a mess of a person. she drank about eight out of the seven days in the week on a bad week. but only four out of seven on a good week, it all depended on her flashbacks from her childhood, and the night her mother was murdered. she was a high functioning alcoholic, but why you ask alcohol? because she wouldnโt want to be like her dad and go to drugs.
she was happy, yes, but overly happy. she didnโt seem human or was one of those humans who didnโt seem to have feelings. if that makes sense. she would come to classes drunk but only if you knew her well you would be able to tell. her family was worried but didnโt know the extent of it all since she kept it from them
she would also go with the flow, she was truly the quote if you stand for nothing youโll fall for everything
her personality before after getting sober
after being accepted into the nyc ballet, she cleaned up her act. she knew this was a once in a lifetime change. and she wouldnโt allow it to be taken from her. she knew her mother wouldnโt want her to do that
sheโs independent, highly energetic, closed off, stands up for others aka the less fortunate but afraid to speak her mind.
she can come off as a little distant, but with so much tramua in her life its the walls but after time they come downย
she also attends weekly AA meetings, and loves going it keeps her mind clear on why she is still sober, and has been for eight monthsย
