about:
This is a sideblog, and I follow back from my main @grimmusings. Please direct IMs there, since it's easier for me to keep all my messages on one blog. It's also easier to start interactions with me there, where I regularly post open starters and meme prompts. For a full list of rules, see my main. Honesty hour questions will largely be answered IC and treated as anonymous unless signed by a muse.
The Mad Hatter is a mix of fandoms, fairy tales, and original character verses, and I'm happy to incorporate him into other lore or fantasy settings. While I don't pull a lot of my lore from Once Upon A Time, I'm happy to write Jefferson with other OUAT or fairy tale muses or into AUs and crossovers, with the understanding that he'll be canon-divergent. If you prefer one of his faceclaims over the other, feel free to request!
default verses:
fableverse: When the storybook worlds collapse, Maddox Hatter finds himself in a contemporary town called Fableton, where he's finally free of the magic and madness of Wonderland. This is an original character interpretation of the Mad Hatter. fc: Jackson Rathbone (bio)
ever!after: Characters are reincarnated versions of their fairy tale counterparts, and few know who they truly are. Maddox Hatter inherited his grandfather's hat shop, and it's said the hats there have unique, almost magical qualities that can help you find what you need. This is an original character interpretation of the Mad Hatter. fc: Jackson Rathbone (bio)
story!brooke: Once upon a time, Jefferson Hatter retired from traveling the multiverse to live a quiet life with his daughter, Grace, until an evil Queen banished him, first to Wonderland where he lost his head and then to Storybrooke, where he was forced to watch his daughter live out her life with a different family for twenty-eight years before the Savior arrived and shook things up. This is a canon-divergent muse from Once Upon A Time, and timelines can take place before or after the curse is broken. fc: Sebastian Stan (bio)
horror!verse: Once, Nicholas Hatcher was the best boxer in Old City. When a rival fighter known as the Walrus sent his men to kill his wife and daughter, Hatcher lost his mind with rage and slaughtered their killers with an axe. Later, when the asylum he'd been kept in burned down, he joined Alice to rid Old City of some of its most wicked villains, including the Walrus and the Rabbit. This is a canon muse from Christina Henry's Alice. fc: Sebastian Stan (bio)
