i’ll never do the right thing again
This artist hand-embroiders canvas "notebooks."
Think I'm all caught up now. Have a few different projects I want to do but haven't had much time.
The one on the right is the last of the improvised adaptations of the illustrations my friend liked. The one on the left is by Cryptid Stitches on Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1182282500
I once again didn't use the exact colors asked for in the pattern but they look good in real life, this picture doesn't look it as much as irl
Another gift for a different friend, a small watermellon slice she'll use as a pin in a bag. Bad quality photo but it was what I got before gifting it to her, might replace the picture if she sends me a good photo.
The original pattern is no longer available on etsy but I replicated it through an image I found of it. I've also been experimenting with different ways of doing the edges and closing these projects that stand alone as pins or keychains.
Another project I forgot to post about before, another gift for my lovely friend.
The pattern is by Stitchrovia on Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/listing/532336580
I didn't use the exact colors from the pattern but I think it turned out well :)
Some patches I had already done a while back but forgot to take pictures of. Thank you for the pictures @bizarreweirdness!
'I'M NOT GOING ANYWHERE' transgender cross stitch pattern 🏳️⚧️
Trans people have always been here and always will be. Our lives are just as important and valid as anyone else’s and we deserve the same equal rights as everyone else. Trans rights are human rights.
this pattern can be purchased from my etsy store here > (any purchases will go towards my transition fund. support a cute trans girl today!)
how do you do, fellow Creatives™
that's the spirit!!!!
Hello hello! It's been a long time. I have a few projects ongoing but life has been hectic lately. Anyway!
Even though I've given up on my masters degree, my colleagues invited me back for their christmas dinner! Very cool, and I participated in the secret santa, once again we had to give gifts made by hand. I had a lot of options for the person that I got but I couldn't find any satisfying pattern because I wanted something small that could be turned into a keychain or pin since she enjoys those tokens. One of the ideas I had was to do something about Dr. Who that wasn't the TARDIS, because she said she wanted a little pin about the show but something that wouldn't be obvious to people who haven't watched the show while people who have watched the show would recognize it. I haven't watched it yet so I did a bit of digging in the wikia and found the pattern/gallifreyan writting on the 15th Doctor's sonic screwdriver very pretty, so that's what I went with.
I made this pattern with this image as a reference (a bit rotated eheh), but of course since I wanted a small pattern I had to simplify it a lot. Sharing this here as a registry of my projects but also so that if anyone who is looking to do it too or at least have a base for their own pattern, you can have it! Hope you enjoy and happy stitching :)
And here is the result! First time using black cloth and first time mixing two strands to get a new mixed color one, but i think it worked very well for the gold shimmer effect! I couldn't get a better picture, but you can get an idea of how it turned out. There's a lot of half stitches and those can get messy! Adapt it freely to your needs, I'm very much a newbie at pattern making.
been working on this all weeeeek
Like frayed thread through aida this is cross stitch memes of our lives.
(Also I've been doing memes since 2018 huzzah!)
2 and half months ago i got back into cross stitching. Today i finished the project I started back then! And then turned it into a pillow :3
this pattern is from owlforest and it was a DELIGHT to stitch
After about 2 months, I finally finished my first cross stitch project! Really love how they turned out, despite these being the first things I've ever cross stitched...
At this point in time I started organizing my floss and had a bunch of colors whose codes I had already thrown out. I put them to the side and have been doing little projects with these colors while organizing the new ones I get for other projects. This is the first one of those little projects, and I think I'll start a small fruit series :D
Update! Turned it into a patch and will be stitching it onto a sweatshirt.
I'm currently working on a different pattern and in the instructions it says to use only one strand of thread to do backstitching, so I tried it out with this pattern and it works super well! (I've learned on my own, only thing I looked up was the patch method that I've referenced before, so when I backstitched, not always, and just by instinct usually, I used 2 strands like the normal stitches. With just one it doesn't get as chunky/hard to get the needle through eventually, and still has the same effect!)
Also, a picture of when I was doing the backstitching, if you know the artist or the album, specially the song I kept repeating in particular, you'll know it's relevant, but also just cool vibes all around
Patches for a friend to stitch onto her jacket :D

The coffee pattern I improvised based on some cute illustrations my friend showed me but I don't have the link, if I find it again I'll put it here.
Gift for my mom's birthday, stitched it onto a white t-shirt. Pattern from etsy: /uk/listing/1018316489/pisces-cross-stitch-pattern-zodiac-mini
I've also sewed a stuffed animal, worked on costumes, and stitched names onto bags, but they weren't cross stitch so I won't put them here and keep the blog on theme, but just to keep a tab on the stuff I've done with needles and hands
