When the unflappable character sees someone they care about in danger and the mask slips, it's great.
But when the unflappable character sees someone they care about in danger, and the mask DOESN'T slip.
Because they understand they need to be calm and unflappable now more than ever; if it protects them, it will certainly protect the person they care about. So their voice doesn't waver, their hands don't shake. They don't panic. From the outside looking in, they're as calm as could be. They handle it.
But after it's over-when the person they care about is safe, and the unflappable character is alone-they completely shatter. Gasping breaths, sobs, barely holding it together because someone they love almost DIED, and it was far, far too close for comfort.
(Optional: Character that they care about finds them in this state and comforts them.)
when someone is a christian they are not constantly asked their position on the holocaust the transatlantic slave trade the extermination of native americans or any of the thousands of atrocities committed by christians so why do muslims get asked about terrorism and jewish people about israel and are grouped in with specific bad people while christians are not required to explain themselves??
So I'm doing art fight this year! I did it last year too but somehow didn't even consider posting my attacks from last year, cus I'm silly like that ig
I only do Dragon Age attacks rn cus that's just what calls to me (also it's just an easy sandbox for me to play with artistically)
I'm having a lot of fun, I'm hoping to do 20 attacks this year so!!! Look out!!!

Snippet:
"It's ok, buddy, I've got you." Lucanis coos, stroking Spite's furry back as he puts the painkillers in his food.
Spite meows quietly and eats slowly, purring a little.
"Is he okay?" Lily asks, watching Spite eat.
"He will be now that he's had his painkillers." He sighs, standing up.
"Right, what shall we have for breakfast, or would you like cake for breakfast at CafĂŠ Pietra?" He asks, putting Spite's painkillers back in the cupboard where Spite couldn't reach them.
"Or we can have that sweet cannoli in the fridge, either one works for me." She smiles
"Oh, I forgot about that. We shouldn't waste them." He chuckles, getting them out and putting them in bowls, handing one to her.
She eats her sweet cannoli happily, sitting at the table.
"Iâm excited for our date tonight." She says between mouthfuls.
"As am I. I'm looking forward to seeing you in that dress." He purred, finishing his breakfast and checking on Spite.
The cat meows, sounding much happier now that he isn't in pain. He waddles off to take a nap, the painkillers making him sleepy.
She giggles and places her bowl in the sink before hurrying upstairs to clean up and change.
Lily picks out a cute green blouse and jeans for wandering the markets.
Lucanis wanders up to the bedroom after clearing away the bowls and heads into the bathroom.
He washes his face before pulling on a black cotton shirt and dark grey slacks, with his demon eye belt and some comfortable black leather loafers.
He puts on his watch. Before kneeling and sliding a knife into a shin sheath hidden by his trouser leg.
He stands up and turns to Lily with a smile.
"Ready to go?" He asks.
"Expecting trouble?" She asks with a tilt of her head, gesturing to the hidden blade.
"I always expect trouble." He says, letting out a weary sigh as she smiles and kisses his cheek.
"Itâll be okay. Letâs go." She says, taking his arm.
He nods, walking downstairs to the door, grabbing his car keys on the way.
"Be good, Spite, dont break anything else and give us any more scares." He says before opening the inner door and stepping out into the porch with her.
He locks the front door as they both step outside. He unlocks the car, opening the passenger side door for her.
She gets into the car, watching him circle around the front and climb into the driver's seat.
He smiles at her before starting the car and opening the security gates.
He reverses out into the road, the gate closing behind him before he pulls away from the curb towards the city centre.
"Any particular store you want to stop at?" She asks.
"First things first, coffee." He yawns, taking a left and pulling into the main road.
"Of course," She smiles, watching the city go by. She was looking forward to having a normal date with him. And that she gets a fancy dinner. Life is good.
He pulls into an available space outside the cafĂŠ and kills the engine, giving her a smile before getting out and opening her door for her, offering his hand.
She takes it with another smile and tucks herself close to him.
He presses a kiss to her cheek and locks the car, guiding her inside the cafĂŠ.

every year small towns and indigenous communities across canada are burnt to nothing by horrific wildfires and americans go on the internet to complain about it and blame us bc the smoke has spread to their state. iâm so tired.
go yell at mark carney or your own local politicians about climate change and urge them to do more to stop it. the namaygoosisagagun first nation had their community destroyed today. you can find a link to donate to them here. donate to your local food bank. go to the beach next week when the smoke clears and you donât have to think about it anymore while the people whoâs lives have been destroyed will have to pick up the pieces and try to move forward when we are already in a huge cost of living crisis across the country.
