I know I haven’t been here in a while, but I do want to wish everyone a happy new year! Here’s to a new decade of, hopefully, more overwatch shenanigans

so I’ll be honest, when I came back to this blog I was expecting a bit more from it. I had fun, of course, returning to all my friends- and making new ones!! I did some nice writing that I’m proud of, but honestly it feels like the community is a little dead. There isn’t enough happening here to keep my interest. Many of my replies were dropped and that lowkey hit my motivation pretty hard, and all the blogs I was eager to interact with grew inactive within a week or so. I also have this dreadful feeling of not being enough, but that’s another topic. I don’t blame anyone for these things at all, of course, but its hard to keep going when there isn’t anything to keep going with, y’know? 

So, I’m taking a hiatus until ovw 2 comes out. I’m sure by then, the community will pick up a little and some more in-depth lore will awaken my muse. Anyone I’ve interacted with is absolutely free to come find me on dis.crd under Aqua ⛦#2442 . I’m more than happy to rp there too!! So we just read Valkyrie and are in tears

I love it, it’s amazing… and sad… heartbreaking and full of fighting spirit at the same time… this is really one of the reasons I fell in love with overwatch

Ana’s words came back to me. For the past few years, I had thought perhaps that my fight had ended in failure. When I thought back to when I was in Morrison’s office, and I had first decided to join Overwatch, I wasn’t sure if I could ever be that optimistic again. But I knew that the fire that burned then still burned inside me now. The struggle, the doubt, and the controversy had worn away that vast reserve of heroism I once possessed. Perhaps I thought that it was something that once spent, could not return. But we all must face our everyday challenges and crises. From time to time, our will to fight is worn down, but it will always return. As I watched Hanan spread her arms like wings, I knew that my battle was not over. 

Heroes never die.

     You are a fool if you thought you could avoid a Winston hug. After recollecting prior to France, there hadn’t been much time to properly reconcile with his old friend. Everyone was excited– but also on high alert. It was about time they took a moment to breath.

      Well.. as much as you could breath in a Winston hug. 

   “We have so much to catch up on– It’s been far too long, Angie.” He states after putting her back down. Winston was clearly in the best mood he’s been in years– now that part of his family was back. 

Angela couldn’t hold back her laughter as her feet left the ground momentarily. A warm glow to her smile as the familiar feeling of love and friendship returned to her heart. Once she was firmly back on her own two feet, she took a short moment to catch her breath, unable to tame her excited smile. 

“It has been a busy few years for me, Winston,” Angela admitted, fixing her hair awkwardly. She wasn’t yet used to the shortness of it. “I have to admit, I wasn’t expecting such an outcome. There is so much potential here, Winston. Overwatch is just what the people need.” She was nervous at first. Hesitant to answer the recall. Now that she was here, however, Angela knew she made the right choice. 

“You look to be in good health. Have you been doing your exercises?” Oh, she could pinch his cheeks right now. She missed him dearly. “You haven’t been getting into mischief, have you?”

“Miss Ziegler.” 

Toshinori’s voice echoed through darkness as the doctor fell into her subconscious. Her body floating through space quietly. His voice rang again, this time bringing light to her world. Giving the scene a setting as her eyes slowly opened.

She is standing outside her condo in Japan, palms open to catch the raindrops that fell around her form. Her outfit is soaked through, but she isn’t cold. In fact, she can’t seem to feel anything at all. Not even her wet hair stuck to her skin, nor the wind that surged violently around her. Angela felt nothing except the strangling grip of pure grief. 

“Miss Ziegler. I  don’t know if you heard me but I will say it again. I love you. I love with my entire being, but I can no longer stay with you. The story has changed for me, and it is no longer a part of yours.” Toshinori, who was in his muscular form, took a step closer to her. His eyes were emotional, but his face a mask. He wasn’t smiling anymore. 

She also saw that he was dressed like . . . . dressed like a villain. His once american visage was now grey and apocalyptic. Tattered and unfriendly. A gas mask was strapped around his forehead, pulled up from his face so he could have one last conversation with his love. 

“I have a new calling, and I know you can’t follow. I don’t want you to.” He looked ready to take her hands in his own but he hesitated. Then refused to try. His hands remained at his sides as he continued to speak to her. “Miss Ziegler, I hope we do not meet again for neither one of us can hold back. You will be in danger if we meet.”

“Please do not go.” Angela’s voice was weak and desperate. Full of so much grief that she found herself unable to speak a second time. Her hands reached out for him, but the ex-hero stepped away from her with a shake of his head. 

“Do not look for me.” All Might pulled his mask over his face. Then looked down on her one last time. Without a goodbye, he jumped into the sky and vanished beyond the city’s skyscrapers, leaving Angela to wail so hard that her body woke from its dream in an instant.

With her dream fading, the combat-medic sat up in her bed and looked to her love. Asleep peacefully beside her with a single hand holding hers. She smiled to herself and quietly cuddled up beside him to sleep again.

10. What was the hardest lesson they had to learn as they got older?

Angela has had two important lessons within her life. Both had helped her become the medic she is today. She will quote the two of them quite often, and both she religiously lives by. 

Her first lesson was a simple but harsh reality. Dreams are not freely given to those who wish for it, they are earned. Through hard work and determination anyone could achieve their furtherst dreams. So long as you keep fighting for it. So long as you never lose hope. So long as you didn’t let the future blind you.

 All her life she wished to be a savior to mankind. Angela Ziegler wanted to save those who suffered the aftermath of war. She wanted to save those who were already considered lost. This was a dream inspired by her parents, who had gone through their own personal journeys to become world-famous doctors. And both had made it quite clear that WISHING to achieve your dream did not stop a bullet from killing a man. 

Angela faced this lesson day after day after she became a surgeon and combat medic. It is a lesson that she still faces today and a path she is still determined to walk. 

The second lesson that she learned is just as harsh; Death does not stop for anyone. It does not wait for someone to feel better. It does not slow for someone who has already faced death again and again. It will never stop. And that’s just a part of life. So, death should not stop HER either. 

A man will lose his life and there is nothing to be done. He’s gone. You can grieve and you can cry. You can beg for the world to be kinder to it’s victims, but the man is still dead and death is now looking for its next victim. It could be you, it could be someone close, it could even be a stranger. For someone like Angela, it is better to keep moving forward to BEAT death at it’s own race instead of falling back on the past.

Wait for no one, take action. Keep moving and stay one step ahead of death itself. Save a man that could so easily slip from your grasp if you wait too long. You can still grieve, but there is someone waiting for you. There is someone death is coming for. Learn from the past and take the leap into the next fight.

While growing up, Angela Ziegler had gone to a few prestigious and strangely competitive private schools. The money that her parents had earned did not go to waste. The doctor-to-be was given the best education possible. Angela was even given the chance to pick the schools she wished to attend. However, a majority of the schools she attended would heavily reward those who did better than their peers. Angela was usually at the top and this earned her quite a number of enemies during her youth. 

There were students who, eventually, would try to bully her. Spoiled peers who made desperate attempts to dissuade her from even trying. There were even some who made it a point to counter every move she made just to make her studies frustratingly impossible. While it became quite troublesome over the years, Angela was willing to fight for her dreams. Her desire to become a great scientist and doctor only grew after the death of her parents. 

As for enemies to friends, there is one student she once competed against during her younger years that somehow managed to join her team of surgeons. Hired by Overwatch and eventually hired by Angela herself. While they seem to get along fine, both refuse to bring up the questionable past. Otherwise, all the students she once butted heads with had never crossed her path again. And she prefers it that way.
