“Edgeworth sir, we’ve finished sweeping the scene for any potential DNA!”
“Very good. Bring that back to the lab. I can handle the rest from here.”
“Right away sir!”
My name is Miles Edgeworth. I am the Chief Prosecutor for my district back in California. But right now, I am perhaps the furthest one can get from there. Having been abroad for business reasons, I found myself once again thrust into a mystery that is far deeper and more complex than anyone could imagine. While I at first was merely a bystander to this heinous crime, I was given investigative authority by the local precinct after they learned of my identity and my previous exploits. I don’t know if I should be thankful or not. Regardless, I shall do everything I can to find the truth to this case. No matter how dark that truth may be.
“Excuse me.” He said to a nearby officer. “This island is isolated from the outside world, correct? Then may I ask how you received the distress call?”
The officer was a bit startled by Edgeworth’s sudden questioning but quickly composed himself and answered. “We’re not quite sure, sir. It just came in a few hours ago. And while the caller was clearly distressed, we were unable to verify their identity.”
“I see. Well, if any new details come up. Be sure to let me know immediately.”
“Of course! Leave it to me, sir!”
Edgeworth closed his eyes and thought about the current situation. None of it seemed to add up. An unknown caller. A murder on a school island that was cut off from the rest of the world. Not to mention the fact that the ferry he was on was mysteriously diverted to the island as well. He still didn’t have any answers for that. But it almost felt like someone wanted here. Especially with how easy the police gave him control. Sir, he was a bit famous. But that didn’t explain them caving as easily as they did. There was far more to this situation than what appeared and he was going to get to the bottom of it.
He decided the first step would be to examine the body more closely. To say it was a ghastly sight would be an understatement. The poor girl had been both strangled and stabbed. But the thing that made him perplexed was her expression.
Just why does she look so happy?
For some reason, the very scene sent chills down his spine. He hadn’t felt this way since he had dealt with that smuggling ring a few years back.
I’d better keep my guard up. Whoever killed this girl might still be around and from the general vibe I’m getting, they very well might be willing to kill everyone here in order to silence us.
He turned his attention to the building that was situated quite a distance away.
This is a school island. That means there are kids here. If there’s a deranged killer on the loose, it’d be smart to evacuate these kids as quickly as possible. But that just might be what they’re banking on. Perhaps they’re even one of them.
Edgeworth found himself roused from his thinking by the voice of an officer.
“Edgeworth sir! We’ve found one of the kids that goes to school. Would you like to speak with her?”
He turned to him and nodded. “Of course.”
It didn’t take him long to deduce who the student was and thus he approached her.
“Pardon my forwardness. But I am Chief Prosecutor Miles Edgeworth and I am the one who was put in charge of this case. Are there any details you’d be willing to share with me? Any details that you think might lead to the truth being unveiled to us?”

Apollo was in the midst of searching for something to drink in the fridge when Trucy re-entered the office. Used to the other members of the Agency coming and going, he almost ignored her completely, but by chance he glanced over as she stumbled inside.
Uh oh, he thought, furrowing his brow. Someone’s overworked.
She collapsed into one of the Agency’s cushy recliners, mumbling about dying - he couldn’t quite hear her completely. Feeling himself grow protective, he grabbed a blanket from the closet and walked up behind Trucy’s chair. He gave a soft, reassuring smile as her tired eyes turned to look at him.
He knelt down beside her chair and laid the blanket over her, tucking her in nice and cozily. “Athena’s out meeting with a potential client right now, but don’t worry about that.” He reached up to move a stray piece of hair off her face.
“I think you’re overworking yourself, Trucy,” he said with a sigh, feeling himself begin to worry. He knew how driven Trucy could be, and he knew how being too driven could lead to being too overworked.
“Mmmhmm.” She mumbled, not really registering the cover he had wrapped around her. In fact, she acted like it had always been apart of her as she pulled it tighter around herself. She glanced over at him, her eyes having trouble focusing. “But we gotta pay rent soon.” She said softly. “And with Daddy out sick, things are looking bad.”
Yet as she looked at him, she somehow knew she wouldn’t be able to argue. She may be stubborn, but she was nothing compared to Polly. Especially when he was worried. And so, against her better judgement, she decided to relent. Just this one.
“But I guess cancelling my next show won’t hinder us too much.” She said as she sunk deeper into the chair, feeling herself relieved after making such a decision. “That way I’ll at least have two days off.”
Then there was the whole matter of school starting back up in 2 weeks. Something that Trucy was convinced would lead to her demise. Juggling work and sleep was one thing. But adding school on top of that was basically a death wish.
“I want you to promise me one thing, Polly.” She said, looking at him with determination despite her exhausted state. “Find a way to pay our rent. It’s up to you and Athena now.”
And then she closed her eyes and let her head fall dramatically onto the back of the recliner as if she were a dying soldier on a battlefield. Though one might hard pressed to believe that due to how fast she had fallen asleep. Poor girl really was beyond exhausted.

It has been a while since he spent the Agency a visit. He didn’t really remember when he had been here the last time and what had been the reason for his visit. It probably had to do with the new justice system Phoenix Wright had tried to establish. Back then, his head had been filled with worries and anger and despair about losing his brother and his best friend.
“Guten Tag, Fräulein Wright”, he flashed Trucy his most charming smile, playing with a strand of his long, blond hair. “Is Herr Justice at home? I need to talk to him for a second.”
“Polly huh? I’m afraid he’s actually out right now. He got recruited to defend someone and he left really early because he heard his opponent was going to be Mr. Edgeworth. I don’t blame him though. That’s like a rite of passage for him, so I bet he’s excited.”
It’s probably the exact opposite, Trucy. He’s likely scared out of his mind.
“But since you took time to come all the way out here, would you like to come in for some tea or coffee?”
It was the least she could do after all. Her father always told her to show hospitality to guests. As long as those guests didn’t strike her as untrustworthy or scary anyway.
July 4th. A day of family, BBQ’s and fireworks. Good thing I’m Anti-social! Time to finally do my drafts!

what kinda ships does the mun like?
I dunno, the natural kind? Like. If two muses end up having a lot of chemistry or if I can see the potential for chemistry between them, then I’m all for it? All I ask is that the ship makes sense and progresses naturally, be it developed through roleplay or pre-established through plotting.
Bored.

“Constant advertising of your products can do that to those who aren’t interested. You’re lucky she’s the kind to get annoyed easily by that type of action.” It was then that the Irish man took a closer look at the man he just saved from a fate potentially worse than death.
Red blazer, an overly fancy cravat, and a hairstyle that’s typically seen in only video game characters those who have too much money to burn.
“Hey. You’re that Edgeworth fellow I’ve heard on TV, ain’t ye’? My, my, isn’t that a pleasant surprise. What might y’ be doing around here, may I ask?”
It was then he heard the other’s invitation to the office was when he shook his head. Though tea wasn’t exactly his favorite beverage, he’d also prefer to continue his business here. After all, a poor sucker customer could very well come while he’s gone.
“No thanks, good lad. As much as I’d love to check out your place, I’m afraid that someone who’d require my services could very well come while we’re gone.”
Judging from the other’s words and actions, it was clear that they were used to doing this selling routine. A bit too used to it. From his wordplay to the tone in his voice. It was clear that the other was a bit of a peddler. Potentially even a swindler. However, since he had yet to do anything against the law, Edgeworth couldn’t really penalize him. But he would keep his eye on him.
“That is correct. I am Chief Prosecutor Miles Edgeworth. And to answer your question as to why I’m here, it’s because there have been in muggings in the area. So I’ve been scoping it out and looking for anyone suspicious.”
Like the person he was talking to.
The other insisting that he wanted to stay here in case someone needed his “services” certainly didn’t help his case. But for now, the best thing to do would simply be to observe and see how things played out.
Still, he did have one important question.
“Do you have a license for selling items in this general vicinity? And if you do, have you been keeping careful eye on your stock? I don’t want you to be a victim of theft after all.”
@dungeonsandmemes
“I have no idea who you are, but I must thank you for chasing that nuisance of an old lady away. I can only handle so much in one day and after seeing a certain painter earlier, I was at my wit’s end.”
Frankly he was more impressed by how Oldbag was still alive. She had to be over 100 by now. Was the old broad immortal or something?
“In any case, allow me to make it up to you. We’re not that far away from my office, so if you don’t mind a short walk, we can head there and have some tea.”
@guilty-love
It was rare that people visited the agency. Well, people who weren’t clients or old friends of her father anyway. So upon answering the door and seeing Klavier standing there, her brain immediately went on high alert. Why was he here? Was someone getting arrested? Did Polly do something bad? And most importantly, was she ever going to say something instead of just staring awkwardly at him?
“M-Mr. Klavier!” She exclaimed, finally breaking the silence that her own awkwardness had created. “W-What are you doing here?”
@loudredattorney
It was honestly rare to see the usually peppy magician so lethargic, but that’s what happens when she has back to back magic shows for nearly two weeks. And that’s why, upon opening the door to the agency, she nearly collapsed.
A shaky hand reached toward a nearby wall and used it for support, blue eyes scanning the room for anywhere, anywhere at all, to take a brief rest. And it would be brief, as she had another show in five hours. Poor girl was running herself ragged trying to gain income for her father and friends. Especially since they hadn’t been hired for any cases for quite awhile.
“At this rate, I’m going to die . . . “ She mumbled as she let herself plop into a recliner, her entire body screaming for mercy. “But I gotta . . . keep going. Ugh.”
That’s when she heard footsteps behind her and slowly turned her head to see who it was. Upon seeing that it was Apollo, she turned back around and let her eyes close, not wanting to strain them any more than she had to.
“Oh hey there, Polly.” She muttered groggily. “Find any potential clients?”
Like this post for a starter with Edgeworth.
The votes are in and the winner is-
“I apologize Franziska, but I couldn’t stay away after all. Sitting in an office all the time does get boring. So I do believe I’ll be taking over as Prosecutor now.”
“Who gave you permission to show up here, Miles Edgeworth?! Go back to whatever hole you crawled out from!”
“Surely you jest. You’ve been handling all the cases here for the past month. You even shoved Klavier and Simon out of the way once. I must insist that you cease your workaholic ways and relax before you burn yourself out.”
“Says the man who I’m convinced never sleeps!”
“This and that are two different things.”
“Like hell they are!”
“In any case. While I’d love to stay and chat, I’ve got business to attend to. So I simply must get going. I’ll be seeing you around, Franziska. Do take care.”
“Grr-. His smugness will never cease to infuriate me!”
One wonders if he does it on purpose by this point.
Which Muse should I add next?
