Like they literally just needed any photo ID with an address, I thought they needed like unopened mail and paperwork and crap, it took 5 goddamn minutes, I did it on my way home from work

And was NOBODY gonna tell me libraries have websites now with ebooks and audiobooks and documentaries and British TV and shit???

One of the first things I did when I moved away from home and into my college town was locate the city library and see what I needed to do to get a card. Then I went to the library every week. It helped me feel connected to the community and feel a sense of place, which helped me get over my homesickness.

Seriously, check out your local library. They have SO MUCH STUFF besides books (especially these days).

don't forget to install library extension in your browser of choice! when you look at books on amazon etc it will tell you whether they're available at your library in physical or digital form. i set my default to libby instead of overdrive and enabled showing when books were available on hoopla since my library has it.
