The hate on canine furries is so fucking stupid

I just saw someone say “canines are the white people of furries”

God you people really have nothing better to do with your time

Out of all the shitty behaviors that the fandom lets run rampant this is what they’re mad about .

I’m going to set this straight: It’s not the fucking species that’s “over abundant”

It’s the ART STYLE and EXECUTION.

The lack of visual literacy is what makes them cling to the lowest common denominator like the “canine species” instead of the Disney-fication that permeates the western furry world.

It’s not canine sonas that are the problem. It’s canine sonas that are a pastiche of Disney and thousands of other popular furry artist’s styles mashed together.

It doesn’t matter what species a character is, it doesn’t matter how complex or simple their design is. What matters is HOW they’re drawn. HOW they’re executed. Whether or not you can feel the life and breath of the character through their micro-expressions or how down to earth they’re made to be.

I say this as someone who’s special interest is canine anthros in media, and I have to look DAMN hard to find ones that actually look good to me.

So this whole thing feels like a slap in the face.

How about you guys focus on groomers in your fandom, the misogynists, the sketchy consent boundaries. Jesus Christ
