one of the silliest things about basically all king david media adaptations is that they no-homo the david/jonathan relationship SO hard that it fully becomes a “methinks the lady doth protest too much” situation. like if you really didn’t think the relationship was queer then you would just depict it the way it appears in the text. instead they always end up cutting out 75% of their actual storyline bc in their heart of hearts they KNOW it’s just undeniably gay

This dude is the hottest animated character I have ever seen in my life. By the end of the David movie, I was smitten. Lol.

It weird admitting that, but apparently, it is sortof 'common' for real people to find animated people attractive due to qualities we already typically find attractive being exaggerated intentionally (ex: large eyes, heroism, stature, physique, personality traits, jawline, brows, etc)

Dude is just such a vibe & that ACCENT is like melted butter.

So to the animators... you know what you were doing here... & it worked. Lol

Yeah so I’m one of the few who buys the $200 CDs… I already own a King David CD, but it was slightly damaged so I recently bought another one that was new, and hopefully not as damaged. I think I may have bought the last legit one, I’m not sure, there were other CDs I saw but they were cheap from websites who sell bootleg CDs and yeahh idk. One website asked for my credit card info which was too shady for me lmao

But yeah lolol, I hate the fact King David got taken down from YouTube, it really sucks, but I’m glad I already have the entire soundtrack downloaded on my phone because I love the musical too much

I drew more young Jonathan

Jonathan when he was a little guy ♥️ I need to restart my young Jonathan comic with this new design of him in his pre-anointing era, the time of his life before Saul was anointed.

He’s awkward, sucks at being a shepherd when Saul forces him to take care of the sheep cuz he’s off practicing with his bow, and uh, he doesn’t want to be a prince—how I imagine young Jonathan lol

It’d be cute if David and Jonathan met as kids, maybe I should draw that too 😭💔

Finally got around to making their full body designs, and when it came to Jonathan I thought why not draw a younger version of him when he was barely a prince lol

I thought it’d be cute if back then Jonathan kept his hair short, and he partially tied it up, but overtime he doesn’t gaf about it anymore by letting it grow out lol

I read an idea once that in I Samuel 18:21 when Sha’ul says to David בשתים תתחתן בי he means something like “you will become my son-in-law a second time” aka considering the covenant with Yonatan to have been akin to a marriage. unfortunately I can’t find the source again (this was several years ago and I was worse at writing things down) but I still fully believe it, and it is true once again that that specific word in the text (בשתים, “in/at/with two”) is textually very strange. like, it’s not just something that could be interpreted in a different way, it’s a word that has no clear interpretation. and I swear to G-d moments like this just keep coming up researching dxj
