“ well we are of legal age and having been doing our own thing separate from our mom and dad since we were teenagers, “ alaric often sent lizzie and/or josie out of missions or to deal with supernatural creatures. it wasn’t like they had been sheltered their whole life ( except for the whole merge thing ). “ where are we going ? preferably somewhere super public, “

‘  i  was  hoping  to  your  place .  i don’t  have  any  money  plus  i  need  a  place  to  stay  .  do  you  live  far  ?  ’

‘ well  if  it  isn’t  little  miss  goldilocks  .  ’

“ i came with josie. we had no one else with us, “ wherever one twin went, the other was usually not that far behind. “ we didn’t even know mom was here, “

          ‘  well  aren’t  you  two  brave  for  venturing  out  in  the  world  on  your  own  ,  without  your  parents  .  ’

lizzie  mentioned  their  mom ,  but  he  knew  jo  was  died .  baby  blues  viewed  the  concrete  before  quickly  realizing  that  she  was  talking  about  caroline  .    recalling  how  the  blonde  carried  his  two  nieces  to  term  and  how  she  protected  them  as  if  they  were  her  own .  and  now  it  looked  as  if  the  twins  parents  followed  them  to   new  orleans   ,   talk  about  your  helicopter  parents  . 

          ‘  there’s  a  witch  store  nearby  we  can  check  for  books  there  but  not  before  we  grab something  to eat . i’m  starved . ‘

Rebekah chuckled as she looked at the heretic. Kai Parker was notorious for being ruthless and evil. Though if you were to talk about her family they would say the exact same. “ Oh darling I can be gentle when I want to be. “  Sending a wink his way she pulled on her bottom lip.

‘  i  never  said  i  didn’t  like  it  rough  .’  he  teased .  ‘  i’ve  just  never  been  good  with  following  instructions  . ‘  he  admitted  .

“ And why would I be nice to you Kai Parker?” A smirk played on her lips as she looked the male over.

 ‘  i  really  don’t  mind  it  if  i’m  being  honest  . ‘  he  shrugged.  ‘  i  like  a  woman  who  can  insult  a  man  while  looking  him  straight  in  the  eye .  it’s  sort  of  like  foreplay  for  me  ,  but  then  again  you  seem  like  a dom  and  i  don’t  think  i’ll make  a  good  sub  .  so  i  think  were  at  a  crossroad .’  he  teased  .

“ i just got to new orleans. i haven’t really mapped out the best places to go to for research on the gemini coven, “ sarcasm dripping from her words as she folded her arms over her chest.

‘ surely  your  father  or  blondie  brought  some  books  here  with  them  or  did  you  two  come  to  new  orleans  by  yourself  ? ’

‘  now  that  was  pretty  harsh  don’t  you  think ? ‘

the blonde saltzman groaned audibly before holding out her hand, “ i’m going to regret this, “

‘ probably . ’ he  teased  before  he  took  her  hand .  their  hands  shook  briefly  before  letting  her  hand  go  .  ‘ so  why  don’t  we  start  now  ,  we  need  books  on  the  gemini covens  .  do  you  know  where  we  can  get  something  like  that  ?  ‘

“ let’s look at this like a trial period. i’ll think of you like a gym membership. if i don’t think the help is genuine, i can bounce at any time, “ lizzie would be a fool to trust kai after the long list of things he can done on multiple occasions but if he did have valuable information on the merge, she needed it.

‘  should  we  shake  on  it ? ‘

     she crossed her arms over her chest as she stared at her uncle in disbelief at how he made it seem as if her and her sister made a prison world to lock him up in for fun. “because you tried to kill my sister and i or did you forget about that little detail?” josie remembered it vividly; hearing a crash, her and lizzie hiding under their bed facetiming their dad, then hiding in the special spot they had for when ‘monsters’ came after being told to do so, hearing kai’s voice call out to them asking for them to come out like they were playing a game of hide and seek. that memory was on the list of many traumatic things that had happened to her as a child. “how many times have you tried to kill me now? you had jade try to kill so that makes three? unless i lost count somewhere.” 

     “alyssa got what she deserved for that.” with the dark magic taking over her she had killed the girl, at the time it was for show, to prove that she could do it and do it with such ease. she did bring her back, only to use her, but she was thankful she did now that she was back to her old self. otherwise she wouldn’t be able to live with herself if alyssa had remained dead. 

     “don’t act like what you did was a favor to me. you were probably hoping i would end up killing everyone. or maybe you knew exactly what would happen and wanted to see me destroy everyone i loved. i don’t believe for one second you were genuinely trying to help me." 

kai  begin  to  try  to  count  on  his  finger  how  many  times  he  tried  to  kill  the  twins  as  if  it  was  a  game  .  he  remember  the  wedding  and  then  when  they  were  kids , but  that  was  just  him  trying  to  finish  what  he  started .  then  he  used  jade  and  when  all  else  failed  he  had  gone  to  the  salvatore  boarding  school  to  get  rid  of  the  ascendent  himself   but  we  all  know  how  that   ended .

‘  it  was  four , but  if  anything  that  just  show  how  tenacious  i  can  be  .  ’

brows  perked  when  josie  told  him  that  alyssa  got  what  she  deserved for  sending  them  to  the  prison  world .  his  curiosity  rose  .  perhaps  she  was  more  like  him  then  he  thought  .  

‘ i  guess  you  got  me  all  figured  out ,  now  don’t  you  little  niece  .  ’  kai  looked  at  josie  carefully .  ‘  you  know  your  sister  thinks  she’s  something   like  me  but  looking  at  you . ‘  the  ends  of  his  lips  curved  upward  .  ‘  it’s  like  standing  in  front  of  a  mirror  . ’

’ you.  I should’ve known you had something to do with this. ‘

he  chuckled  lightly  at  her  words  ‘ and  what  have  i  done  this  time  ?  ’

“ is this a pity party? because trust me , no one likes a drag.” suddenly, she felt somewhat guilty for her tone of phase. “ do something about it, why live with regret? “

             ‘ i  did  do   something  about  it .  ‘

blue  eyes   reached  her’s  ,  she  didn’t  need  to  know  the  details  of  his  endeavors  to  get  rid  of  his  family  and  his  covenant  .  his  finger  danced  around  the  tip  of  his  glass  that  held  bourbon  inside  of  it  .  

          ‘  it’s  amazing  what  one  would  do  for  freedom .  ’

lizzie narrowed her eyes as she watched the male. her gut instinct told her not to trust him and if she was honest, she didn’t, “ mhm, “ there was no much else she could say.  

‘ does  that  sound  means  you  want  my  help  .  ’

'  did  you  miss  me  ? ‘

“ well to be fair, you wanted us dead before and you were not really good at making that happen, “ she pointed out with a raised eyebrow. lizzie wasn’t afraid of speaking her mind, “ 

          “ as  i  recall  you  had  help while  playing  hide  and  seek  with  uncle ;  but  i  wouldn’t  fear  me  if  i  was  you .  you  girls  seem  quite  capable  . ’

he  didn’t  mind  having  navie  nieces  .  he  had  killed  their  mother  and   their  covenant  in  one  night   ;  not  to  mention  how  he  tortured  nearly  everyone  one  they  knew  ( bonnie ,  damon ,  elena ,  tyler ,  liv  ,  luke  ,  alaric  ,  and  etc  )  ;  but  he  didn’t  mind  being  considered  incapable  of  harming  the  twins  especially  when  he  had  other  plans  in store  for  them .

lizzie crossed her arms over her chest as she listened to the male; she wasn’t sure she would ever be able to kill josie unless it was absolutely necessary. the blonde chose to ignore his first words but rather chose to focus on the last, “ and you would willingly help us survive the merge ? no secret agendas or tricks ? not a plan that would get both jo and i killed, “

‘ if  i  wanted  you  dead  you’d  be  died  lizzie .  besides  ,  doesn’t  this  face  read  trustworthy  to  you ?  . ’

     “funny, i would think you would be the one running after everything you’ve done. especially what you did to me.” red hot anger coursed through her at the sight of her uncle who should have been dead. deep inside she felt that small seed of darkness still there, tempting her to use it on him. “haven’t you tortured my family enough?” 

eyes  rolled  briefly.

          ‘  what  i  did  to  you  ?  didn’t  you  lock  me  in  a  prison  world  when  you  were  like  six  ?  and  last  time  i  checked  you  conjured  up   that  black  magic  long  before  you  came  knocking  at  my  front  door  ;   plus  i  wasn’t  the  one  who  sent  you  to  the  prison  world  you  have  someone  else  to  thank  for  that  .  ’

he  knew  he  was  the  one  to  blame  for  a  lot  of  things ,  but  he  wasn’t  going  to  take  the   credit  for  everything  bad  that  happened  in  the  twins  lives  .    

          ‘  and  if  memory  serves  me  right  ;  we  both  tried  to  trick  each  other .  the  only  difference  is  that  before  i  escaped  i  gave  you  a  little  tidbit  on  how  to  save  your  family  .   if  it  wasn't  for  me ,  your  family  would  have  imploded  in  that  prison  .  now ,  in   hindsight  that  probably  would  had  been  better  for  me .’

he  confessed .
