Sam Winchester Appreciation Week | Day Three: Favourite Scene

This is the level that all of the other quiet, brooding close ups are trying to reach. The lighting, colouring, and composition of each shot is spot on. It captures one of the rare moments where Sam lets his anger bubble to the surface, and it follows all the way through him bottling it back inside. All parts work beautifully together to create the one scene that took my breath away. Even during my thoughts and notes, which was my third or four rewatch of the series, I had to pause and appreciate how magnificent it is. Sex and Violence (04.14) sits high up in my personal ranking of all Supernatural episodes, and this scene is a large part of why.
