Halloween

Here's the kiddo's costume. (He didn't want to wear the gold and silver pants and shirt his mom made, just the chest plate and the gauntlets.) Wanted to do more with the whole thing, but ran out of time and never banged all the rust off the coding side of things. In the end the, my old LOL Shield running a sine wave was the most popular feature. The @adafruit prop maker was under utilized. Didn't have the time to learn CircuitPython so I kept it in the Arduino IDE. Wish I figured out how to get something from the speaker amp built in on the board, would've been way louder. Instead I used the built-in Button pin to trigger some simple sci-fi sounds from one of the PWM pins writing the pin on and off crazy fast and varied.

He loved the costume and got way too much candy. In the end that's all that matters.

HALLOWEEN - Kiddo Robot Pt 1.

We're all going to be robots.

Kiddo wants something on his chest (like Iron Man) and something that makes robot noises. Had this LOL Shield (remember them?) from YEARS ago. Going to invest learning and doing new things in other aspects of our costumes. Wired-up a switch and battery pack. Using the DNA Spectrum Sketch. Just need a cardboard assembly, silver spray paint, and onto the next.

HALLOWEEN COSTUMES

Hello? Is this thing on. Been too long since I made anything which means it is time to put something on the tumblr. Family has decided to go as robots this year for Halloween. Wife is making the costumes I've been tasked with the electronics. Not going for a lot of one big thing, just a few blinky things. We'll see how I do.
