☆ synopsis: You move into Uigyeom's neighborhood, quickly developing a crush on his. What happens when he rejects your proposal?
☆ taglist: @daiyanomochi
☆ an: Just finished One High School Heroes and it was so good!!! Why aren't there more fanfics for them?
It all started when Kim Uigyeom rejected you.
A few months before the fact, you had just moved into town, in the same apartment building as him and his family. Your first day of school you had both walked out of the building at the same time, and you noticed that he was wearing the same uniform as you.
You noticed him on the same bus, but held back from approaching him when he pulled on his headphones. This happened every morning, and you soon started to look forward to school just to get to see him every morning.
The people around school didn’t talk much about Uigyeom, and your new friends said they didn't know much about him. He was pretty quiet, the only notable thing about him were his good grades. Soaring over everyone else in academics, he was constantly the top student.
One morning while on the bus you finally took the chance to talk to him. Rushing to sit next to him, you interrupted him putting his headphones on.
"Hi, I'm y/n." He only nodded in acknowledgement. However, you continued. "We live in the same building, I moved here recently." Your words were follow by silence as he analyzed you.
His eyes moved along the edges of your face, trying to place you. You pointed to the school's crest on your chest. "We also go to the same school!" You announced loudly.
He nodded, "Nice to meet you." Without missing a beat, he pushed his headphones over his ears and turned to face the window.
You were dejected, but continued trying to start conversation with him every morning.
One morning you even brought him a candy, pushing it into his palm. "I hope it brightness your day." Even you cringe at the corny statement ad Uigyeom nodded, turning back to the window.
After months of trying to get to know him, Uigyeom finally crack a smile one morning when you boarded the bus, your earbuds in your ears as you played a song. Unbeknownst to you, your earbuds were not connected an the whole bus was now listening to your music. You smiled at him, sitting beside him.
"Good morning." He only glanced at your phone for a second, acknowledging the music.
Then a woman on the bus sitting behind you tapped your shoulder. You turned, grinning. She points to your phone. "It's loud. Please turn it down."
Your face visibly dropped when you realized your error. You quickly quieted your phone, apologizing to everyone around you. You turned back to find Uigyeom cracking a small smile at your error.
"Oh?" You begin, but his smile is gone before you can acknowledge it. Regardless, you take it as a win.
After months of trying to become his friend, or at least someone he acknowledged, you decided to confess. That morning you went to school earlier than usual, your friends buzzing with excitement behind you as you set the drink with the note on his desk.
You stood outside with your friends, watching as Uigyeom settled himself in before finally noticing the note and the drink. You friend made an excited noise becside you, as another one of them pushed you forward to go talk to him.
Uigyeom only glanced at the note before pushing it away, along with the drink. Without even acknowledging your existence a few steps away, he pushed his headphones on his head and resumed with his studying.
You weren't entirely shocked-- you had seen and spoken to him enough that you knew he was usually distant and cold. But you hadnt expected him to completely ignore you. Not after you had finally made him laugh, made him acknowledge you.
You ran away in tears, your friends after you.
That's when it started, you on the school's rooftop, crying into your crossed arms, your knees brought up to your chest. Your friends comforted you the best they could. But you could only cry as you planned your revenge. You had decided: you were going to take Uigyeom's spot as the top student in the school.
It took months of work. Missing lunch dates with your friends for some extra study time, buying new workbooks constantly, joining an after-school academy, spending nights hunched over textbooks, waking up earlier to avoid Uigyeom on the bus. It was working, your grades were escalating. You could feel yourself close to the finish line, your parents complimented your dedication. Your teachers praised your grades. Your friends constantly encouraged you to keep going, joining your study sessions on occasion.
Then, after all that hard work, Uigyeom ended up transferring.
You surged to the top, but not because of your hard work, but because Uigyeom had left. Your grades were great, but you didn't have enough of a track record to end up in first place. After all that work, you were never able to surpass him. Not only had he rejected you but he had shown that you were nothing academically compared to him.
You still saw him every morning, boarding a different bus this time. Going to a different school, without having ever spoken a word to you past a "Good morning" or "Hello". You were pissed, frustrated beyond belief. All those sleepless nights and early mornings finally came crashing down on you. Suddenly you went from a successful student, to a stressed student who could barely keep up with their grades.
Still hanging on to good grades, but the stress showed on your face. Dark circles where there used to be beaming eyes. Less energy where there used to be a happy-go-lucky girl.
Your friends noticed this, and tried their best to get you out of the rut.
Your teachers noticed, asking you to be more mindful with your study times and take better care yourself.
Your parents noticed, they asked you to slow down if keeping up was too much.
The moment the video went viral, you recognized him. The same stature you had measured yourself against when you both couldn’t get a seat on the bus. The same hands you had silently measured yours against while he was turned to look out the window. The same voice you heard every morning as he said hello and thanked the bus driver and used when answering questions in class with the upmost accuracy.
It was him, you were sure of it. You took the phone from your friend, pausing to get a look at his eyes. They were his eyes, the ones you wished would look at you at least once.
Then, you decided, this would be your revenge.
The next morning you knocked on his family's door, three small rasps before his mom answered. You introduced yourself, holding out a pie.
"My mom made some extra so I thought I might as well bring it to the family of a previous classmate.
She thanked you, even calling Uigyeom to get a taste before she rushed out the door. Uigyeom stepped out of his room, surprised to find you in his home.
"My mom made some extra." You explained. Uigyeom only nodded, taking the pie from your hands.
"So you fight now?" You asked, pointing to a bruise near his lips. He didn’t say anything, only cutting himself a piece and giving an approving nod at the taste.
“I saw the video.” He froze mid-bite.
It took him a moment, but he schooled his expression back into its neutral, cold usual face. “What are you talking about?” He asked as calmly as possible.
“High School Heroes…” You started, watching his face carefully. “That’s what that guy said you were. So, I guess you play hero now. Isn’t it ironic? The quiet, cold top student actually stands up for others. I wonder where that kindness was when you rejected me.”
He seemed stunned, confused at your sudden confession. Not wanting to look at him anymore, you left his family’s apartment.
The following day after school, you spotted Uigyeom wandering around the entrance of your school, obviously trying to shake off another boy from his school. The other boy was smirking, teasing him as he followed him around, glasses falling off his nose before he pushed them up. Then they spotted you.
“Y/N!” The guy with glasses started, pushing past Uigyeom. “You’re y/n, right?” He was loud, energetic, the complete opposite of Uigyeom.
You nodded. “Right? I thought so. Your Instagram doesn’t have many photos, but you’re still so recognizable!” He continued loudly.
You raised an eyebrow. How did this guy know your Instagram user? “Oh,” He says, realizing how weird that sounded. “Uigyeom checks your Insta all the time. That’s how I know you.”
Uigyeom finally caught up, pushing forward to stand between you and the boy. “Can we talk?”
“Oh. My name is Yoon Gi. I’m his friend.” The boy with glasses continued.
You nodded in acknowledgement.
“What do you want to talk about?” You asked Uigyeom, clearly not happy to have to talk to him.
“About the thing you said yesterday.”
“The rejection!” Yoon Gi interjected. “Yikes, I told him to clarify that he didn’t actually—”
Uigyeom turned with a glare that could cut through stones.
“Can we talk, in private?” Uigyeom stressed the word private.
“Sure,” You accept, motioning for Uigyeom to follow you. You turned to make sure his friend, Yoon Gi, wasn’t following. He wasn’t, instead he was looking around pretending to find something interesting.
“Look, the rejection. I’m sorry.” Uigyeom started.
“It’s okay. You don’t have to like me back. I just… have a crush on you. But I guess you don’t feel the same way about me. It’s better that way. I won’t have to be worried about patching you up after one of your fights.” You replied.
He stopped you. “No. It’s not like that.” He sighed desperately, running a hand through his hair. The first crack in his perfect, cold demeanor. “I mean— it’s so stupid.” He continues, looking away for a second before looking back.
“I— I didn’t read the note. Not until later when the school day was finished. I only glanced at it and pushed it aside for later. I didn’t realize you were watching. Not until I overheard someone talk about me rejecting you. I read the note, too late. But by then I was too embarrassed to say anything. I’m sorry.” He finished, his face red from embarrassment.
You laughed, you couldn’t help it. He looked up at the sound of your laugh, his face turning a deeper shade of red. “I’m sorry.” You said, trying to stop your laughs.
“If you still feel the same way… could we go get something to drink?” He said it so suddenly, with such a serious face that it made you stop completely.
“What?” You let out, completely caught off guard.
He stands there, silently. You notice that the longer it takes for you to reply, the more he lowers his head. It takes a moment for you to put the situation together, but when you finally understand, you nod. “Yes, of course. Let’s get something to drink!” You responded excitedly. Behind him, you heard Yoon Gi’s cheers as he approached you guys.
Uigyeom stared at you like you had hung the moon and the stars, completely stunned by your reply.
Yoon Gi gallops forward, clapping Uigyeom on the back. “Yo. Aren’t you glad I convinced you to talk to her? You guys owe me a meal!”
In that moment, both you and Uigyeom barely heard him as you stared at each other. Maybe you were going to have to worry about patching him up after all.
☆ synopsis: you find out your husband, jae jun, has been cheating on you and it suddenly all starts to make sense.
☆author's note: bleh i don't even remember when or why I started writing this but it's finished!
She first approached you on a cold, winter night. It had been a few months since your first wedding anniversary with Jae Jun.
She told you her name, Moon Dong Eun. She also said she had some proof that your husband had been cheating behind your back. Then, she left without another word. Without giving you the answers you needed. You had had the sudden urgency to defend him in the moment, but she had not given you enough time.
If you were being honest, you did not know enough about your husband to deny those claims or not. Yes, you had been married for a little over a year, but it was simply a marriage of convenience. And although it was originally not supposed to be much more than a transactional marriage, making the other look good, Jae Jun had been an amazing husband.
He had been the most loving person in your life. He had been very considerate on your wedding night, reassuring you he wouldn’t try anything you didn’t consent to. After that, he never brought anything like that up again. You were the one who approached him the first time, and he was more than happy to satisfy your needs. He bought you flowers every day, made you breakfast before leaving… he was the perfect husband.
At first you were reluctant about him, hearing from his friends that he was violent and controlling. You had even been on the verge of cancelling the wedding in spite of everything.
The only reason you walked down that altar and said the words “I do,” loud and clear was a promise. A heartfelt promise from his lips.
“I will treat you like a princess. I will honor and respect you as my wife. If you want to live in separate houses, that’s fine. If you want to sleep in separate rooms and only talk to me when strictly necessary that is fine. The only thing I need is one chance. And if you give it to me, I swear you won’t regret it.”
Yes, you had at first felt weird at the idea of him begging like that. He was a young, handsome, and rich bachelor, he could have any woman he wanted.
But looking back now, it all made sense. His insistence on getting married at the same place as her, same date, same caterers, similar looking cake, making sure her and her family would sit in the very first row, honey moon at the same location as her and her husband.
Of course, her smug smirk as she “accidentally” dropped a whole glass of red wine on your wedding dress. She never once apologized, yet Jae Jun asked you to let it go.
It was all falling into place now, he didn’t marry you because he wanted you. He married you because you because he needed to be married to make her jealous. And you fell right into the slot he needed to fill to have her wrapped around his pinky.
You had to stop thinking of this, you decided as you wiped a few tears away. Leaving the restaurant you and Moon Dong Eun had met at, you made your way home as quickly as possible. You needed to be there when he arrived. To confront him. You needed to stop thinking and start taking action.
When Jae Jun arrived home, he immediately called out to you. After not receiving a reply, he entered the bedroom. There you were, sitting on the edge of the bed, still thinking over those words.
“He’s cheating on you. You know who she is.” Your mind keeps flashing back to that moment. The photos. The video of them stepping out of the fitting room at his store, hair messed up and fixing their clothes.
“Y/n?” His voice close to you brings you back. “What’s wrong, honey?” You turn to look at him and he instantly hands you the flowers. You stare at them, not too thrilled at the idea of receiving flowers from a cheater.
“Are you tired?” He asks, caressing your face. He tucks a strand of hair behind your ear, giving you a sweet look. You don’t answer.
“Alright honey. You do look tired. Lay down to rest. Did you have a filling dinner?” He continues, lifting the covers of the bed and ushering you under them. You comply, not wanting to say much. You only nod.
“Okay. Well, I’m gonna put these in a vase and get ready for bed. You go to sleep, honey.” He sets a sweet kiss on your forehead, “I promise I won’t make much noise when I come back.”
He walks away and turns off the lights before you speak.
“Jae Jun?”
“Mmh?” He turns, looking back at you with the uttermost attention.
You aren’t sure how to start confronting him so you simply ask one question.
“Who is Moon Dong Eun?” His face contorts into that of someone who is horrified but genuinely shocked. An expression you had never seem from him.
It confirmed your suspicions. And her words.
He turns the lights back on, coming back to your side of the bed. You sit up, hoping for clarification. Still in his sweet voice, he asks. “Where did you hear that name?”
You had to be honest— that was the only way you could get anywhere in this conversation.
“She told me you were cheating on me.”
He splutters incoherent words out, but you lift your hand as a signal for him to stop. He obeys.
“If you liked Yeonjin, you could’ve just said that. There was no need to make me feel special.” A long, silent pause comes between you as he doesn’t deny the allegations.
“I’m filing for a divorce.” You add.
He tries to defend himself, but falls short and stops altogether. “I’m sorry. I really am. Yeonjin and I, we—.”
“I don’t want to hear it.” You add. “And I don’t want to see you again. So if you could please sleep elsewhere tonight. Or would you rather I—”
“No.” He stops you. “You’re already comfortable. Let’s talk about this tomorrow, after we both get some rest.”
He leaves. You think this will be the end of it. Tomorrow you will wake up and start filing for divorce and sooner or later you would be free. But this is only the beginning, because now more than ever, he has a reason to hate Moon Dong Eun. And instead of going to bed, he is going to demand an explanation from her.
Allows you to choose the origin of where you want the name to be from, whether you want a more feminine vs masculine vs androgenous name (as voted by users), random surname generator, and clicking on the name gives you important info like if there are any famous people with the same name, where it’s from, how common it is, and how people tend to see it, etc.
You can also search their name database by letter or meaning or origin, so if you know you want a character who has a name/surname that starts with an A from Ireland, there’s a whole list for you to choose from.
Census sites
Especially useful if you’re looking for a name from a specific place and/or time period. Just search “(country) census (year)” and you’ll find a database of real people who lived in that place at that time. No one can ever call your names unrealistic again.
For coming up with place names:
Fantasy name generator
This site can basically come up with any name for any person, place, or thing you might ever need. There are also specific generators for different fandoms if you’re looking to make an OC in an established world.
For finding that one word on the tip of your tongue:
One Look Thesaurus
This is my go-to. Not only can you find synonyms like a regular thesaurus, but you can also describe words like “unhappy smile” or “quiet laugh” to find the more specific word you’re looking for.
For coming up with ideas:
Word cloud
When I need to inspire a new idea, I write down all the things I’m interested in (hauntings, academia, lesbians, etc.) and put them into a word cloud to shuffle them next to each other. Sometimes seeing a concept in a new context can spark new ideas!
WWF Discord
This is my discord channel (shameless plug) for when you need to brainstorm off other people but don’t have anyone irl to talk to. We’re also happy to read and give feedback on writing, answer writing questions, or just chat!
For visualizing places and characters:
Pinterest
Pinterest can at times be a bit too sterile for my tastes, but if you use the right words, you can find more realistic photos of places. For example, adding “aesthetic” after basically any word will bring up a more broad collection of photos to help you flesh out places.
This is also a great way to find photos of people and fashion to help visualize characters. I’m bad at describing clothes, so I usually collect photos of outfits to help me know what my characters are wearing. Searching up “character inspiration” will collect more interesting photos and drawings of people who might not exactly be of our world.
(However, to make Pinterest not show you AI results, you have to go into your settings and check the “reduce AI” box. Luckily, it does mostly work.)
Death to Stock
Like pinterest but completely AI free (hooray!) Only drawback is that you have to pay a monthly subscription (about $20 CAD).
Cosmos
Very similar to pinterest but slightly more "artsy". I'm not super familiar with this one but I believe all the photos are human and you can save them and create collections with a free account.
Dupe Photos
Royalty-free stock image site with very Pinterest-core photos!
Minecraft
If you haven’t built your entire fictional city in Minecraft instead of writing, why not? It’s fun.
The Sims
This one is dual purpose because you can not only create your characters in Create a Sim, but you can design their houses. If you really want to go for it, you can bulldoze all the lots in your town and build your world from scratch.
For checking grammar:
Grammar Girl
Easy to follow definitions and examples, and if you learn better by listening, every article comes with a podcast to follow along with instead.

This one is my favourite for checking grammar rules because there’s tons of examples in graphics that helps for any situation.

This one was recommended from my discord channel and has all sorts of tutorials and resources for the writing craft.

first time meeting
It was a chilly autumn morning, and you were a mere few minutes from being late to your lecture. Despite how long you had been staring at the barista working at the coffee shop on campus, they would not move any faster.
You continued to stare as another minute passed, followed by another. Finally, they approached the counter with a single cup. You take a step forward, hoping it was your coffee. A few seconds later, your hope is met as they read out your order.
Only, as you step forward and extend your hand towards the cup, finally grasping it, someone interrupts you. Another hand comes very close to wrapping around yours, but finally retracts. You turn to look at that person.
He is tall and handsome, with kind eyes. He seems to be around your age and he must also attend the same university, you note, watching him adjust his book bag on his back.
He lets out an quiet chuckle before confronting you. "I'm sorry, I think you have my drink." He states, reaching out for it. You pull back, and he looks confused.
You repeat your coffee order to him in form of a question, and he nods. "Yes, that's my coffee order. You're holding--" His words are interrupted by the barista stepping forward with another drink, repeating the same exact same coffee order.
Instead of making a big deal of it, he chuckles again, takes the new coffee, and lets out a loud and playful, "I'm sorry about that," along with a dramatic bow in apology.
Uncomfortable with his loudness, you give him a small bow of your head back before rushing off to a lecture you were already late to.
Little did you know that ever since that day, your quiet life would become much brighter.
----
The next time you see him is a few days later at your part-time job. Yeo Jeong and a friend walk into the convenience store you work at. At first you don't recognize him, and don't even acknowledge his presence until he comes up to pay.
With one look at your face, he recognizes you. He lets out a surprised noise. "It's you. The girl from the coffee shop!"
He extends another loud apology, which prompts you to ring his items up faster. He leaves after paying, and you can only stare at him as he walks out the door.
From that night on, he becomes a regular at the convenience store. Sometimes he only gets some simple snacks, and other times he simply comes by to strike up a conversation with you. At first it was weird to have him show up out of nowhere and have long conversations with him, but you slowly got used to it.
He might have been a bit of nuisance at times, but he even helped you with smaller tasks around the store as you chatted.
You learned a lot about him, he was going to be a doctor like both of his parents, he liked very sweet coffee with a lot whipped cream, he was a genius at playing Go, and he was the loudest and jolliest person you had ever met. Despite this, you couldn't help but feel like something was off about him. Behind the jokes he cracked and the boisterous laughter, something seemed to bother him. You couldn't tell what, and you didn't want to drag his mood down by asking. All that you knew was that sometimes, his smile didn't reach his eyes.
----
After months of visits from him every night shift you had, you were surprised to look at the clock one night as your shift was about to end. Only twenty more minutes and your shift would be over. Your coworker was on their way to take over the next shift, and Yeo Jeong had failed to show up.
You were aware that he was a very busy person, so you didn't exactly expect him to show up every single night, although you did feel disappointed by his absence.
On the way home, you spot him nearby. He is hunched over on a nearby bench, completely silent. His usual bright aura is noticeably absent. You decide to figure out what is wrong with him.
He doesn't notice you as you sneak up. You see him reading a piece of folded paper, a letter. A silent tear drops down his face.
"Are you okay?" You ask, trying to be quiet so as not to scare him but loud enough for him to actually hear you.
He immediately adjusts his posture, quickly putting the letter away and wiping a few tears from his face.
"Huh?" He quickly tries to cover up his mood with a bright smile, although you notice it doesn't reach his eyes. "Oh! Oh, sorry y/n." He pauses for a moment, a look of realization crosses his eyes.
"Did you leave work early?" He asks jokingly. You shake your head.
"Oh, I must've been really distracted, then!" He lets out a light laugh to try to lighten the mood between the both of you.
You sit down beside him, "Are you okay?" You ask, your voice desperately begging for an answer. You reach your hand out, trying to comfort him. Unsure of what to do, you pull it right back.
He doesn't know why, but this question makes him crack. His smile is gone, replaced by a myriad of tears. He sobs, trying to wipe away the never ending flow of tears. You can only hug him and repeat comforting words as he continues crying.
---
After that night, you two had become almost inseparable. Apart from visiting you at work, Yeo Jeong would walk you home and you guys would always make time to meet while on campus. You had scheduled study times and long conversations over coffee.
You two became the closest friends, even going as far as meeting each other's parents and travelling together a few times.
Although he had been reluctant to tell you about his father's death, he found himself in your arms more than once over those letters. You knew the rage he felt, the pain he had endured every time one of them arrived.
You did the only thing you could do-- be there for him. Comfort him in times of need. Cheer him up in his lowest points. Keep him on track when he veered off. You were there for him.
Sooner rather than later, you realize you had developed feelings for him. The way your heart pounded whenever he go too close, how you constantly turned to look in his direction despite being busy, constantly thinking about him even though he wasn't close by. Looking out for him, wanting to know everything about him. Smiling every time your hands grazed while walking side by side. Purposely bumping shoulders with him while in the same space.
Although all of your friends teased you about your very obvious crush, he never seemed to notice how you were head over heels for him.
It is only after he fails to show up for your scheduled study time for the third time that you find him playing Go with a woman in a nearby park. She's beautiful, and only a few years older than you both.
Instead of confronting him, you warn him about staying on track with his studies, as you always have.
He asks that you guys temporarily stop your study times as he has to tutor someone. The days following that, you show up to that park, where he plays with that woman daily.
You couldn't help but feel a little bit jealous. Despite not having anything other than a friendship, your feelings for him could not be denied.
Sure, Yeo Jeong was still meeting you for coffee and walking you home, but something about his interactions with that woman made you feel uneasy.
When that short friendship ended, he came back to you. He was overwhelmingly sad about not seeing her again. He explained how he had been tutoring her, but those sessions were now over.
You thought he would forget her, but as years passed she seemed to stick in his mind like glue.
Every phone call from an unknown number had him jumping in hope. Every woman with a bob and dark clothes, every person who had a resemblance to her made his eyes sparkle in a way you had never seen. His eyes would sparkle the way they never did with you.
---
It had been years since his last meeting with Dong Eun that you had almost entirely forgotten about her.
You both had survived the rest of college and graduated side by side. You started your own business but still made sure to be there for everything Yeo Jeong needed whenever he needed it. More than once you had to stay over at his apartment to help keep him focused on his studies or just to hang out while he was in med school.
During his residency, you were there every step of the way, even going as far as making his home cooked meals every day to ensure he was eating well. You also made sure to bring them to the hospital every day to catch up for lunch no matter how busy both of you were.
Today, however, you were disappointed to find him gone.
"Good morning." You greeted the nurse at the reception.
"Good morning. That's for Yeo Jeong, right?" She asks, taking the lunch bag out of your hands and setting it down on the counter.
You nod, expecting her to call him as usual.
"I can't believe it," She says shaking her head in disbelief. "You come in here every day with a homemade meal for him, how has he not married you yet?"
You laugh her words off but can't help but internalize those words. How come in all these years of friendship, he has never noticed your feelings for him?
"Anyway, he's not here. He left earlier, I thought he was meeting you. He said something about a woman and left all giddy."
"A woman?" You wonder out loud. She nods. "Maybe it was his mom?" You add.
"No, I don't think so. She's still here."
"Alright, well. If he's not here just let him know that I stopped by, alright? Please make sure he eats this." You add, pushing the food closer to her.
"I will, don't you worry."
After finishing your own lunch, you receive a message from him.

okay. just tell me when and where
You meet Yeo Jeong at the coffee shop where you first met. He looks so excited and almost looks like he's about to jump out of his seat.
"What is this good news you were talking about?"
"You'll never guess who I met." His eyes glimmer with a sparkle you had rarely seen before.
You are happy to see him so excited, so you can't help but mirror his wide smile and bright eyes. "MMmm." You take a few seconds to think, but the only thing you can come up with is a distant memory of a woman. Someone who felt so distant you don't even remember her name, despite the millions of times he has told you about her.
He can't contain his excitement as he lets out, "I'm getting married!"
You are so taken aback by his words that you feel your body physically shift back unconsciously. "What?"
"Well, I wanted you to be the first to know. So I am telling you before I tell my mom."
"Wait." You hold up your hand. "Wait," It takes you a full minute to process his words. "You're getting married. But you're not even in a relationship. What are you talking about?"
"Well, I am going to be in one soon. Do you remember Dong Eun?"
"The woman from the Go park? Who you never spoke to again."
He nods, his head bouncing up and down at such a high speed that you thought he was going to get whiplash.
"Yes! Well, I forgot to tell you this but we met again not too long ago on a train, when I left for that lecture. We had a small conversation, but I gave her my business card. And guess what? We met up! I'm moving to set up a practice where she lives. Isn't that great? Your best friend is getting married!"
The emotions hit you all at once, like a blade settling between your ribs. You can only sit in silence as he continues to talk about her.
He soon notices your mood change and immediately tries to find an answer. "What's wrong?"
You're devastated, but you can't tell him that. Instead, you choose think logically. Or, as logically as you can with a broken heart.
"Yeo Jeong, you're the smartest person I know, how can you be saying something as stupid as this?" His excitement immediately dies down, his eyes losing some of that brightness, and his smile dropping at your words.
"What?"
You sigh, "You barely know this woman. Why would you move somewhere else for her? Why would you announce a wedding so suddenly?"
He doesn't know what to say. He's no longer in the happy, giddy mood he once was.
"You don't understand. That's okay. I'm sure my mom will." With those final words, he leaves the coffee shop.
Later that night, you call to apologize. He doesn't pick up. You send him messages which he doesn't read.
The next day when you go to the hospital, you are met with the news that he had already cleared out his office.
When you get to his apartment, the movers are finishing up with moving his stuff.
You call his mom, and after a short conversation you find out he has already left town.
As much as it hurt for you to realize it, Yeo Jeong no longer needed you.

a/n: Super busy, about to graduate college so I don't have much free time. Here is something small.
before the apocalypse
The silence was so deafening, awkwardness filled the air. Everyone in the lecture hall stared as your crush, Lee Eun Hyuk, turned down another student. It was especially awkward as the person sitting next to him to experience this. You could only watch as her face dropped. She pouted at his response, setting down the box of chocolates before running out in embarrassment.
Thankfully for her, class had already ended and everyone was starting to file out, moving on to the next thing. Their next lecture, or the next topic. People tended to move on quickly.
"Do you want them?" The question caught you off guard. Or rather, the person who was asking you caught you off guard. Eun Hyuk pushed the box of chocolates towards you before zipping his book bag shut and putting it over his shoulder.
He had never spoken to you before this very moment. The only times you remember interacting with him were passing papers down the row or setting a pen down in front of him when he was struggling to find one. Even then, those interactions were just noises of appreciation or acknowledgment.
You weren't sure how to reply. "If you don't want them I'll just have to throw them away."
"Oh. Umm, sure. Thank you." You take the box and pack up your things to leave as well. Eun Hyuk had already left, but you were sure you would see him in a few hours in the library as usual. Before you leave, however, you find yourself accidentally stepping on something. You look down to find a pencil case. You had seen it before, it belonged to Eun Hyuk.
Now, you had an excuse to talk to him in the library instead of admiring from afar as usual.
You continued about your day as normal but you were looking forward to your time in the library. As you excepted, Eun Hyuk was already sitting in his usual seat. He has his head buried in a textbook, not even realizing when you stepped up to his table.
You build up the courage and pull out the chair in front of him. It is then that he looks up. His expression is blank, and you suddenly feel the need to justify your existence in the library.
"You left your pencil case in the lecture hall this morning." You say quickly, pulling it out of your book bag.
"Thank you." He said, reaching out to take it from you still with a blank expression. "I was hoping I would find it soon. I wasn't able to take notes in my last lecture."
"Well, I also wanted to thank you for the chocolates. They were very sweet."
"Well, they're chocolates." He replied.
You weren't sure how to reply. "I still wanted to say thank you." You paused and took a few deep breaths, trying to work up the courage to ask the next question.
"Are you okay?" You look back up from your concentration to see him-- concern adorning his face as he searches yours for a sign of something.
"Yeah, sorry."
"Well, you didn't sound okay." He continues, his voice sounding genuine worry. "You can tell me anything that's happening to you if you feel bad. I'm a medical student, I can help."
You're surprised by his concern. "Yeah, I will. Thank you. But I was just working up the courage to ask you if I could study here, with you. I always see you here at the same hours as me. So..." You're not sure how to continue.
"Yeah, I've seen you. You sit over in that corner." He points to your usual spot. You nod. "Sure, I don't see why not. You're nice-- you've helped me with my pens more than once."
Wow, he remembered that.
As the weeks passed, you and Eun Hyuk started to get closer. You would talk during and after class and continue your conversations during your study time in the library. You eventually called each other friends, could be seen doing everything together around campus. Your newfound friendship exposed you to a different side of Eun Hyuk. A caring, beautiful, human side the complete opposite of his cold and blank exterior.
You never worked up the courage to tell him your true feelings before he had to drop out to financially support his sister. However, you made sure to stay in contact and would usually visit him and his sister, Eun yu, weekly. You gave him your notes and kept him updated about the things happening in school in hopes that he would be able to come back and accomplish his dream some day.
during the apocalypse
You had been stuck in Eun Hyuk's apartment building for a few days. In the past few days you had witnessed hell. People were dying left and right, the monsters outside killed everyone in sight. There was no way for anyone to leave.
You had been visiting Eun Hyuk the day before the beginning and were set to leave in the morning with him, only to find yourselves locked in. You had already seen him almost be dragged out and killed by a monster.
There was no way to contact anyone outside. Everyone was scared, unsure of their futures. Somehow, Eun Hyuk had been assigned as the natural leader of the building.
Although this position seemed to suit him, knowing that his relationship with his sister was already rough you were sure being away would only make it worse. So you made it your mission talk to both of them daily, keep them updated on each other, and reassure them that the other cared deeply about them. It was exhausting, but you made sure to do it for them. Because you cared about them. They were the most important thing to you now.
One day, you are finally able to relax with Eun Hyuk in the security room. He is sitting, watching the cameras, something he had been doing for a while, when you walked in with food.
"You should take a break," You stated, setting his ration onto the table before him.
"I will later." He responded, although he pulled the food closer. "Thank you."
You sit down on the couch near the wall. "Eun Hyuk?"
He turned around when you said his name. "Don't you miss anything? You know, like. Music. Trees?"
"Why are you asking me this?"
"Do you remember what you told me the day we first started talking?"
He shrugs and pull fully pulls his attention from the screens to you.
"You said I could tell you anything because you were a medical student. You said you could help me." He stands up and makes his way toward you, sitting next to you on the couch.
He is concerned, "Why? Are you feeling sick?" He looks at your face, searching for some sign of discomfort.
"No. That's not it. I just-- I miss those times, you know?" He nods, but continues searching for signs of discomfort.
"Back then. That day. You got a confession from someone."
He tilts his head, "I did?"
"Yeah, you don't remember that?" He stays silent for a few minutes, thinking.
"I think so. I'm pretty sure I rejected her. The girl with the chocolate box." You nod. "Well, what about that?"
"Back then, we had the freedom to reject and explore as we pleased. Not anymore. You know, I regret not telling you something before this whole thing happened.
He's confused, but you sit up straight, taking a few deep breaths. You weren't sure if you should continue. You were so close to him now, although you still harbored those romantic feelings for him. They only grew starting that day. But now, you were stuck in this apartment building with him. You were friends, and he was the leader.
"You're doing it again." He continues, putting his hand up to your forehead to try to check your temperature.
"What?"
"The same rapid breathing thing you did that day. Are you sure you're okay?"
"Yeah. I just-- I just have something to confess to you."
"Alright?"
"I like you. Like, I love you. And I've been feeling this way for a while." He is taken aback, but not doesn't seem mad or disappointed. You're confused. Scared.
However, you are relieved when he suddenly presses his lips onto yours. It's brief-- only a small peck. But it means everything to you. "I feel the same way about you."
"Oh?--"
"I'm not sure when it happened," He confessed, "But I like you, too." You smiled and pulled him closer, pressing your lips onto his.
"I know it probably isn't the best time to do this," He continues, "But do you want to be my girlfriend?"
"That would be amazing. Absolutely, yes." You answered with enthusiasm.
It would not be for long, but the both of you stayed there, in that room, wrapped in each other's arms. You guys talked about everything and anything. You remembered both the good and bad times. No matter what would happen next, this was one of the best days the both of you had just had the best day in a while.
summary: After a very confusing summer, Coriolanus returns to the Capitol where he meets someone who he thinks can help him get over Lucy Gray.
other(s): The reader is meant to be gender neutral although there are some mentions of reader w/long hair and hair bows! Also, this was written very late at night, I was half asleep and have not edited it!
It had been a long day when you first ran into Coriolanus. Being from a well-off family that held your image and education in very high standards, you were not aware of who he was at first.
Your family kept you in the home most times, telling you that was what was best for you. Since you were a child, your education relied on the teachings of more than one governess. You had never joined the Academy with the rest of the children your age. And although you wandered around the Capitol, where the aftermath of the war was still visible in some places, you knew little about it in general.
Although you knew about the war and how terrible it had been to the people of the Capitol, you never had to live through the hunger and terror that other Capitol kids such as Coriolanus had to. Your parents' wealth stretched very far back.
Your parents had been unwilling of letting you go at first, until they realized the truth: you had outgrown the wisdom of any governess. You were incredibly smart, and the University would only help you grow. So you begged your parents, and they obliged.
You started hearing about the hunger games after getting to the University. You were horrified, but everyone else your age seemed to know and be okay with the games. So as not to make yourself seem as more of an outsider, you decided not to pry on the idea of the games further.
So, when you ran into Coriolanus on your way to campus, you had no clue who he was. You only gave a small apology and hurried off without noticing that a notebook had fallen out of your bookbag. You heard him call after you, but continued, thinking he might want to pick a fight with you for bumping into him.
A few weeks later, you bumped into Coriolanus again. This time, as he was exiting the library. With another small apology, and without realizing it was the same guy, you tried to bolt right past him. However, he pulled you back with a hand on your upper arm.
"You. I know you."
You were confused, you didn't think you'd ever seen this man before.
"Sorry, you must be confused." You answered, although you couldn't help but take a second to admire him. He was tall, at least taller than you. His body was well built, his icy blue eyes pierced through you, seemingly trying to fix a puzzle that was not there.
And, something else you noticed: his smell. Not in a creepy way, but he had a very distinctive smell. No one else that you knew had this smell. After taking a second to inhale his scent you, realized he smelled like roses. Something you hadn't smelled in a while, but it still lingered in the back of your memory.
"I asked you what your name was." You startle back to the current conversation, embarrassed at the idea that he could've caught you smelling him.
"Oh. Sorry. It's y/n." After a pause, you realize that you had just given your name to a complete stranger. One that smelled very good, and you wanted to know his name as well.
"What about yours?" At this, he raised an eyebrow. He seemed confused, perplexed, almost, that you didn't know his name.
"I'm Coriolanus Snow." He answered, straightening his posture. You could tell he was very proud of his own name, although you weren't very sure why. You had heard that name before; Snow.
Coriolanus Snow. You had heard of him and something in relation to the games. You try to remember, but as each second passed you could see him become more expectant, more confused. "Umm, yeah. I've heard about you before." That was all you could muster about that.
"Anyways, sorry. Bye." You add hurriedly, hoping to make it into the library this time, but to no use. Coriolanus held onto your arm again.
"Excuse me," You say, turning back to look at him. "I'm not sure who you are, but I have somewhere to be so I would appreciate it if you could let me go."
"Sorry," He continued, as he retracted his hand, "I have something to give you. A few weeks ago, you bumped into me as well." You didn't quite remember the incident, but he continued. "You dropped something, a notebook. I don't have it with me right now, but I can give it back to you whenever you wish."
"Well, sorry about that day." You answer. You vaguely remember the encounter, but you knew you had been missing a notebook. You just hadn't been sure where you'd put it at all. You had thought maybe it was in your room at home. "I'm going to be in the library a while because I have a project due soon. If you could bring it back that would be great, but I understand if you can't."
Coriolanus nodded, "Yeah. No problem, I'll go get it and bring it back to you."
"Alright. I'll try to stay around the entrance so you can spot me." You both nodded and finally parted ways.
As you set your things down on the table nearest to the entrance of the library, you thought about how you would repay Coriolanus for keeping your notebook and running to get it for you. Rummaging through your book bag, you found a container with a single cupcake inside it. Your mother had given it to you that very morning, an addition to your usual lunch. It was special, the frosting on top smiling back at you as you held back the urge to eat it.
Instead, you pushed it to the side and started working.
On the other side of things, Coriolanus was eager to give you back the notebook. Dashing across campus, he thought about you. You were beautiful in his eyes, and he caught a whiff of something both times he had run into you. Something sweet, something sugary. Although he couldn't place a finger on what it was, he wanted to find out.
After the first day you two ran into each other, he couldn't stop thinking about you. Both times, he watched your walk away from him, he admired your long curls, decorated with a pretty bow. On the first occasion, it was a white bow, matching your outfit. On this occasion, he realized, the red bow in your hair also matched your outfit.
After learning your name, he was more excited than ever to know more about you. Especially when you didn't recognize him. At first he was surprised when you had no reaction to his name. He brushed it off as you not paying much attention, or the idea that you simply had no interest in watching the games.
He had also not recognized your name from the Academy. The more he thought about you, the more he wanted to know about you. Everything about you.
And he thought, if you knew nothing about his past, that would be better. You would be easier to charm. And most of all, it would be easier for him to forget Lucy with a beautiful person like you by his side. Lucy and her memory could die out back in District 12, while he was here exploring new options.
After collecting the notebook, Coriolanus dashed back to the library. Before entering, he tried to compose himself. Taking a few deep breaths and making sure he looked alright, he entered the library and spotted you immediately.
You looked up as Coriolanus approached, his hand holding out the notebook. You took it. "Thank you so much. I wasn't sure where I had left it. I don't have much to give you in exchange for your troubles. But I do have this."
You pulled the cupcake out from behind a stack of books and handed it to him. Coriolanus took it, gladly. Looking at the cupcake, he knew he had chosen the correct person. While things had gotten better for him and his family when he returned from District 12, he hadn't eaten such a sweet dessert in a while.
"Our maid made a few more, but my mom gave it especially to me for lunch this morning. I know it's not much, but it is a sign of my gratitude." You add, hoping he wasn't disappointed, although looking at his face, he seemed more than happy to receive it.
Oh, he had definitely chosen the right person. Knowing that there was more where this came from, possibly a lot more, he was determined to win you over.
"Thank you," He answered as he opened the container. "You should take a piece, it was yours after all."
"Oh, don't worry about it, Coriolanus. I can eat one when I get home. It's my way to thank you."
"Coryo." You gave him a confused look.
"Please, call me Coryo. That's what my friends call me."
"Alright," You smiled. "Coryo."
This was only the beginning of something, he thought. He was going to make sure this was more than a friendship.
Hello!! If anyone is still active and was looking forward to reading some more of my stories, I am currently drowning in drafts and requests but I’m back !!
I am still accepting requests, it will just take a while to get to them!
I apologize for being gone for literal years but college has not been good for my mental health.
Anyway, I will have an updated list of what I’m working on soon and I’ll start posting again.
More than 500,000 people have already left Ukraine due to the invasion by the Russian Federation. The European Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management estimates that roughly 18 million Ukrainians will be affected by the conflict in humanitarian terms, with 7 million internally displaced and 4 million seeking refuge elsewhere. To help those still in Ukraine, as well as Ukrainian refugees, we’ve compiled this list of resources.
