NEVER MAKE A DEAL WITH THE GOD OF MISCHIEF
Characters: Loki x Y/N(reader)
Summary: Being an Avenger was never an easy job and making a deal with the God of Mischief would surely make it harder and… pleasurable?
A/N: Hello, lovely readers! So, as I have announced, I was planning to get back on track with writing. However, I got into a time crisis with my graduation project so the next two weeks I won’t be around here much T_T. I must finish it by the end of this month and it’s just halfway done and I also have two exams left. I did start writing the other 3 requests(thank you again for sending those darlings, sorry for being late), but I haven’t finished them(idk why I keep starting things and leave them half done) and will surely won’t be able to post them in these following two weeks. So as an apology gift, I will post this one-shot I had written some time ago but haven’t been uploaded because I had other things to write(it’s like a back-up plan to don’t feel like shit because I keep being late with everything in this f&^%$# life).
“If you excuse me for a second,” you apologize to Steve and the kids around and head for the bathroom. You open the door and as soon as you close it you gravely sigh in front of the mirror.
“I got freaking enough!” you stomp your feet on the ground.
“Need some help, little one?” a voice startles you and you involuntarily get into a defensive posture even if you have recognized his voice the next second you heard it.
“Shit Loki! Can you not give me a heart attack? Though my body probably needs something to shake it a little bit, because my soul died two days ago when I’ve heard the same stories for the 7th time.”
He chuckles and comes closer to you with that threatening yet alluring walk.
“I might be able to help you,” his deep accent has all your attention.
Now, to be frank, you were attracted to this little shit. Besides his cold behavior and lone image, you were one of the few who chose to focus on other traits of his, such as the way his eyes fix on you when you talk, showing you that he’s actually listening or how peaceful he looks when he reads in the library on the rainy nights, or his confidence, intelligence… No no, don’t let yourself fall!
“And how can you?” you furrow your eyebrows at his smirk while he closes the distance between you two.
“Well, I’m not known as the God of Mischief for nothing.”
“In exchange of?” your eyes move to his feet and back to his face, quickly scanning his body.
“Nothing particular comes to my mind now. I guess it’ll depend on the circumstances.”
Being in debt to Loki? That’s definitely something you should avoid. But you swear to God you’ll go mad if you hear another story about war from Steve. After everything settled down, the mighty Avengers were finally viewed in a good light, even Loki who once tried to destroy New York. The fight against Thanos and everyone’s involvement not only that saved the world, but also helped all of you to gain more power in the Congress. But that’s how you also gained more responsibilities… Well, this wasn’t exactly a big one. The world was affected and people died, cities were destroyed. People are seeking for advice and help. Besides all the responsibilities you guys got, there was also this one about going to schools and teach children about the nature of being good and helping the world. Of course, everyone avoided it, besides Captain America, who he would have been sent nevertheless. But he needed someone to go along with and everyone had their hands busy with other tasks, so since you were the only one who finished the previous ones, you were chosen to be stuck with Captain America giving speeches about mankind, welfare and telling stories about war and how the wish of doing good can save the world. Yes, you know that he is right and what he’s doing is important… But it’s the ninth time you hear his speech and his stories about World War II. You wish that you could have been slower with your work so you won’t have to do this. How can Steve be so into it after the 9th time of repeating the same things? And it’s happening every day since last weeks, not even a one day break between…
“Geez,” you mutter and catch Loki’s sparkling blue eyes. “I’ll do it. Whatever you need, just get me out of this place without him noticing. I like Steve, I really do, but it’s the 9th ti…”
“I don’t care about your reasons,” he interrupts you, “An answer is enough.”
He proceeds to conjure something with his magic and another you appears from the green lights.
“This is not just a simple illusion, it’s a clone. Therefore it is tangible and acts following your emotions.”
“So I just leave her here and I can go anywhere I want and skip all the war stories?”
“Yes. When you want to return, I can make your true form invisible and just push you back into her place. You will also gain all the memories she made while you were separated.”
“As if I don’t know everything he’s telling already. Nothing new,” you roll your eyes and scan the clone quietly staying in front of you. “But she’s so real,” you gently brush a strand of her hair and she smiles at you.
“She’s you, of course she is real, though she might be a little bit blunter,” Loki adds while circling her. “She’s a copy of your body and mind so she’ll act naturally as your own self. Naturally,” he emphasizes the world and you tilt your head.
“Depending on the situation, she won’t hide or mask her feelings as you might do, because she can’t think on her own in order to change the results of an event in your favor. She reacts following your emotions that she copied and acts exactly based on them, like, an automatic response. Therefore, if I do this,” he closes the distance between him and the clone of yours, sneaking an arm around her waist, dangerously low and your eyes widen. “Instead of nicely refusing me or avoiding my touch as you would do, she could directly punch me in my…,” he stops, “Why isn’t she reacting?” he looks at her with furrowed eyebrows and a blush covers your clone’s face as she just stays with her body stuck to Loki’s.
“OK, I GOT IT,” you push your clone away from him while his gaze is still fixed on her, thoughts gathering in his mind. “Thank you, Loki!” you try to brush away what had just happened and his stare is now on you, a little smirk threating to appear.
“Then, I’ll see you around,” he disappears from your sight and you finally let out the breath you were holding in. “Be nice to Steve ok?” you tell her and she nods, going back to the classroom.
Three days have passed since the deal you have made with Loki and everything was going well. He was always coming to the school before starting the whole thing and conjure your clone so you could have freely done whatever you wanted instead of being stuck with war stories and repetitive speeches. You were enjoying a nice cup of latte at Starbucks until Loki suddenly appeared next to you.
“It’s time to pay your debt.”
