Tumblr deleted this photo and I have never been so mad at this website ever. I posted this a few months ago with a whole story included which meant the world to me and last week they just deleted it. Let me just say this: I do not want to trigger anyone, I do not want to glorify anything, I do not want people to selfpromote their depression blog on this. Those were not my intentions. The story behind this photo is that a while back, we had to participate with a photography contest (since I study photography at school) and the subject was contrast. We could choose anything, I had only been 2 months cutfree when I made this. I thought about the contrast of people who have selfharm scars and people who don’t, because there are lots of people who have them and who don’t. I wanted to show that you don’t have to be ashamed of them. I see everyone hiding their arms, not wanting to walk around in short sleeves in public because their scars will show… I just want everyone to know that your scars don’t define you. Even my whole class, who haven’t been my best friends, were really supportive of this photo. And so were the jury of the contest, because you know what? I won. Out of the 1500 photos that were sent in, I won the contest. First fucking place. And that really shows that others care. This is not art, this is not beautiful, this is not glorifying. This is just a sign that you don’t have to be ashamed. And here I am posting this again, because I hate that Tumblr deleted this photo and I want people to know they shouldn’t hide theirselves.
Das ist ja das Schlimme. Dass man nicht darüber reden kann. Mit niemandem.
