Everyone always makes fun of how dorky Rumpelstiltskin is with the condiment flirting and shit but, like, you guys. She married him. She had sex with him. He got her pregnant. It worked, you guys. It worked so good.

Belle, a legitimate Disney princess, watched that dorky little lizard man flirt with her about ketchup and Dalmatians and drop an entire glass of wine on her cursed self and went, “yep, this is it. This is The One and fuck anybody who disagrees” and that’s just awesome.

Like, it doesn’t matter how bad you are at talking to people, there is still somebody out there who is going to think you’re exactly what they’ve been looking for their entire life. So let’s just remember that when the rest of it has gone to shit.

Ok. So, you know it's kinda a given that a girls dad doesn't really approve of any guy that dates her? (At lest for a while) And that it's considered normal for a girl to be a "daddy's girl"? Why do we think that it's weird for a mom to not like a girl that her son brings home? Or that it's frowned upon to be a "mommas boy"? Like, isn't it the same thing? Just reversed?

The first response I got to this post was from @thisisevenharderthannamingablog who said something similar, and I see the point both of you are making. However, if the show wanted to go this route, I’m sure they could find an explanation for why it would work. Maybe b/c it’s a True Love baby, that changes the rules a bit? Also, @betsypaige22 said she’d rather not see the curse breaking b/c of the baby, as that would trivialize the love btwn Rumple & Belle, as if their love wasn’t good enough. I’m paraphrasing her words, I’m on mobile & can’t quote her whole comment. Betsy, you said you’d rather the curse-breaking TLK be b/c of Belle AND the baby…how do you picture that working, exactly?

I honestly don’t think there’s going to be another TLK with Rumbelle anymore. What would be the point? He was free of the DO, and chose to take it back. He doesn’t want to be uncursed.

I’m heartsick at the idea of his being immortal, willingly living forever and being fine without Belle for eternity, while she never gets to reunite with him in the afterlife. To me, that’s a shitty happy ending. I really can’t get past the first part - Rumple willingly living literally for eternity without Belle? NOPE - that would be AWFUL and out of character and I’m crying now… 

I still hope that by the end of the show the curse will be broken - otherwise, ugh, I just don’t know how I can reconcile this. For sure I hope that at least they have Rumple cut away his immortality like Merlin wanted to.

Also, I hate the idea of no TLK, it seems so unfair………….

But what if he can age as long as he stays in a land without magic? Or she could be old and dying, and he curls up with her in bed and finally lets her kiss the curse off of him, and at once he ages so rapidly that they both close their eyes together, and neither wakes up…

Oh my god……..sob. Yes, I want this so much! Actually what you described is very much how I’ve always wanted it - and it’s been my head canon. Granted, in my imaginings Rumple was already mortal when Rumbelle died together, but however it happens, I honestly believe that this is how it SHOULD happen. It would be an appropriate end to an epic, legendary love story…….. well sort of an end, lol.   I really really love the idea of Rumbelle growing old together - I think they both want that. If you notice, most portrayals of immortality are not positive; the people always end up just exhausted by life, ultimately finding death to be a peaceful end to their long, long lives  and wanting to be reunited with loved ones. 

I’m ecstatic by Rumbelle’s storyline, but the immortality thing has been a bugaboo for me for a long time, lol……..I think it’s possible anyway that by the end of the show Rumple will want his curse broken - I guess we’ll have to wait and see. I just…..I need what you described to happen.  I’m now going to cry myself into a stupor and possibly not sleep tonight for all the visions I’m having of Rumbelle dying together…..

I love the comparison between the way Gaston sees himself (handsome hero) and the way Rumple sees himself (monster). Gaston derides Belle for seeing the good in him and in others; Rumplestiltskin celebrates this quality of Belle’s and he LOVES HER FOR IT.

Whether or not Gaston had been pushed in the River of Lost Souls is a moot point; Gaston was never going to move on because he didn’t learn his lesson. He had a chance to walk away on the docks and instead he pushed for revenge. And that, in the end, is what cost him.

This. This is why he portrays Rumple so amazingly. We actually get to see him put his heart and soul into it. There's so much behind his eyes. You can actually FEEL him touching your heart and soul. He loves what he does and it's soooo apparent. <3
