oh-no-luca:
“i know.” he breathed out a bit nervously with a soft smile on his lips before he pulled away from her and pushed the door open. “you’re right. i did.” he said finally as he took off his sweater and hung it up on the coat rack and took off his shoes and put them to the side. he grabbed his glasses that were resting on the counter and put them on and walked over to the kitchen. his home looked completely different without all the bottles of alcohol on the floor. luca was always too embarrassed to bring people over when it was in that state which was practically all the time. but now? now you could actually tell what the colors on the walls were which was a faint burnt orange color and it wasn’t constantly dark when you walked in. he made the house his own almost. “just take your shoes off, yeah? i spent so long making everything spotless.” he said laughing a bit as he awkwardly ran his fingers through his hair.
“you want marshmallows or anything like that in your cocoa? i have the little tiny ones. they might be a little stale though.” he said simply with a shrug. he personally didn’t mind stale marshmallows but he wasn’t sure about other people. besides, they were all he had right now. he opened his fridge for the milk revealing how empty his fridge actually was and closed it before grabbing the cocoa from the top shelf. “you can pick something to watch too if you want to. the movies are in the basket under the table by the tv.” he said humming softly as he grabbed a pot and turned on the stove getting ready to prepare the hot cocoa. “i can also get a few blankets too if you want those as well. i just went through all of them and washed them so they should actually be clean, unlike last time.” he said laughing a bit as he poured the last of the milk in the pot.
Ches smiles as she walks through the front door, almost having to take a step back when she realizes just how much his home had changed since the last time she had been in it. It felt more like Luca’s home now that there weren’t beer bottles everywhere, now that the traces of his father’s presence were fading away. “It looks great, Luca.” She tells him as she slips her shoes off, placing them neatly against the wall before she shuts his front door. “Feels more like a home now even, you know I never realized your walls are that color?” She smiles as she goes to join him in the kitchen, leaning against a counter as she watches him get to work on the hot cocoa.
“Stale mini marshmallows are fine by me, we all know they melt in any way,” Ches assures him, raising an eyebrow when she sees just how empty his fridge actually is. She doesn’t comment on it, just makes a mental note that she would be bringing him food as soon as she could get it through his door. Even if she had to sneak it in his fridge to get it in there. She pulls away from his counter at the mentions of movies, making her way over to the table to sort through them. “I’m not stressing blankets too much personally, but if you want the I never object to them either.” She admits as she looks through the movies, setting the ones that actually might be worth watching gently on the table.
