N: "Hmm?" Niall asked as he heard her finish, raising up an eyebrow. "I must be the luckiest guy in the world then, huh?" He smirked, running his hand up her sides and letting it rest loosely on her waist. "But you know, we should really maybe consider doing something about that, huh?" He asked, circling his thumb against her hip as he continued to hold her close. "I mean... I like you. You like me. Don't you think we should do something about it? I mean, if you want to. I don't want to pressure you into anything."

T: Taylor laughed at the little smirk on Niall's face, "I guess you are. We're just the world two luckiest people." She said resting her hand on his knee gently. "Hmm," she said playfully thinking for a moment, "doing something about that would probably be a good idea. Seeing as our feelings are mutual. It only seems like the right thing to do." She nodded, "no no, you wouldn't be pressuring me at all. I think it's just the right natural progression. Step 1- confess feelings, step 2-" shen paused for a moment, "make it official?" The blonde said biting at her bottom lip somewhat nervously.

N: Niall took in a deep breath as he felt their lips mesh with each other's, giving her hand another squeeze as he stood. "You can't tell me this is the only song someone has written about you. You? You're... you're Taylor. You're amazing. There's a hundred layers to you and just when I think I understand you, you surprise me. In the best ways possible. I'm always learning and seeing a new side of you, and I can't say I've disliked any of them." He chucked softly, quickly pecking her lips. "You know, this may come as a surprise to you – but I kind of have a crush on you." He joked.

T: The blonde laughed softly, "okay well it's not the only song that's been written about me. But it's the best." She winked, "and it's the only one I've had sung for me in person." She said looking down at their hands before back up at Niall. She could feel her cheeks begin to redden at his complement, "thank you," she managed to say just before he kissed her again. "Really?" She asked with a mock surprised look on her face. "Well I don't know if you've noticed but I have a bit of a crush on you as well." She winked and closed the small distance between them again to kiss his lips. "Maybe more than a bit of one."

N: As soon as Taylor's bright blue eyes met his own, Niall felt a smile tug at his lips. He was happy that the two of them were able to spend this time together, even though it wasn't quite certain just how much time they'd have - he figured he'd make the most of it while he was here. "I'm so happy I'm here." He spoke quietly, letting his eyes roam around her face as he stood in front of her. "And I'm so happy you like it. I'm just, I'm happy in general." He nodded, moving in closer and closing the small space between them. "I'm so lucky." He spoke, leaning his head in and pressing a kiss to her lips.

T: The moment their lips touched it was like everything that had been missing for her was finally found, there were no more missing pieces to her heart. A smile spread across her lips as they kissed before she slowly pulled away and shook her head, "I think I'm the lucky one. How many girls can say they have a song about them?" She smirked and leaned in to kiss him again, "I'm really glad you're here too, and I'm happy you're so happy." She said in a soft giggle. She didn't know what all of this would lead to but she knew she was happy in that moment.

N: As soon as Niall heard the words leave Taylor's mouth he let out a breath of relief knowing that she had liked the song. "Oh my God," he said with a shake of his head as he chuckled softly. "Thank God. You have any idea how nervous I was to wait for you to hear it?" Slowly and gently, he set his guitar down to rest up against the couch and once again got himself comfortable where he was sitting. "I mean, it's nothing too special. I'm not a brilliant writer like you or anything, but it's still my first song and I'm really glad you don't hate it." He gave her a small smile as he reached for her hand and gave it a squeeze. "It really means the world to hear that you like it. I thought a lot about everything you and I have gone through and really, this was the best way of putting everything into perspective and just... out there, you know?" He looked down at their hands and ran his thumb over hers softly.

T: Taylor laughed softly at Niall's reaction to her feelings on the song. "Were you really that nervous? It's an amazing song, and I'm not just saying that because it's about me." She winked as she leaned back against the couch next to Niall. The blonde looked down at their hands, smiling as he gave her a little squeeze. "Stop." She said shaking her head, "you're an amazing writer, really, and for this being your first song to do on your own, it's incredible and beautiful." She told him, looking up at him and giving him a smile. As he rubbed his thumb over her hand she turned it over and intertwined their fingers. "It did really sum everything up perfectly." Taylor said looking back up at niall, "I haven't really be able to move on either. I tried but I can't, there's always been something missing.." she said softly, their eyes connecting. "Until now."

N: After a deep breath in and out, Niall nodded his head. This would be the first time he would've ever performed for someone who wasn't part of his management or label team, and he was nervous. It surprised him that for years he was able to go out in front of thousands of people for nights in a row, and yet here he was –– trying to calm his nerves and get through it all. "Okay." He mumbled out loud, mostly as a way to relax himself and not a response to Taylor. "Well, the studio version is probably better. Mostly because you won't be able to hear how nervous I actually am since... well, you did have a lot to do with the song." He revealed as he stood up and reached for his guitar case. "You uh... were actually the inspiration for it." He said, glancing up at her quickly as a blush spread across his face. "So I hope you like it," he chuckled awkwardly, before setting his guitar in his lap and starting the chords of the song. "Waking up to kiss you and nobody's there..." he sang, keeping his eyes focused on the guitar strings underneath them as he played the strong through.

T: Taylor took another sip of her tea as she watched niall. She could tell that he was nervous about playing the song for her, she was always nervous to play a song for someone for the first time so she understood. She just smiled and nodded as he took a deep breath. She was about to tell him to just relax and not be too nervous when he said that she has a lot to do with the song. Taylor raised an eyebrow at him curiously as he continued, she bit her lip, a small smile trying to break through. "I'm sure it's a great song. I'm sure I'll love it." She reassure him when he sat back down, giving his knee a small squeeze. The moment he started singing she could feel butterflies in her stomach, she listened to every word he sang, taking it all in, watching him closely. "Niall," she said softly when the song was over. "It's beautiful, it's...I love it."

N: The blonde listened carefully as she spoke, thinking that he could probably learn a few things from the other, as she had been doing the whole songwriting thing for a lot longer than he had. "I get it. There's always a lot of pressure to outdo yourself and be better than the other people doing the same thing as you, but don't stress it too much. When you have it, you'll know it. In your own time you'll have your album ready, and it's guaranteed that you'll smash whatever you put your heart and soul into." He nodded as he spoke truthfully to her. "Yeah. It's nice. I love writing for the band when I do, but as I said, the material for the band isn't something that always attracts to me. It's good for the band, but as me –– as Niall, I guess I just have a different style." He turned his gaze away from her as he debated on whether or not he should tell her about his most recent project. "Well actually," he began, realizing that before he presented the song to the world, he should probably let the person it was about know it was in the works. "I do have something I've been working on. It's only one song. It's not much, but I'm kind of proud of it. We've uh, we have a final cut of it now as well. A studio version which is very surreal to me, but I mean, I could play it for you if you wanted?" He asked, suddenly getting a nervous pit in his stomach.

T: as she listened to Niall she couldn't help but smile, she knew he was right, when the time was right she would know when to put out her next album. "Thank you, that means a lot to me." She smiled. Taylor watched Niall as he turned away from her, she could tell he was a little nervous talking about his own music, she understood, it could be hard to branch out and do something new. "A different style can be good, something that'll suit you more than the one direction style." She agreed. "Oh really?" Taylor perked up when he said he had something ready. "Yeah, I would love to hear it, Ni!" She said excitedly looking forward to hearing what he had been working on.

N: "Oh? Have anything up your sleeve coming out sometime soon?" Niall asked curiously, his eyebrow perched upwards. "I am actually." He replied with a nod. "It's good to write even during your time off. I've actually found myself in a lot of different times and situations where I've felt like it's kind of necessary to write about them. Poetically or not, it's pretty therapeutic. I mean, I did some writing for the band before we went on the hiatus but that's always been very specific. Very... well, you know. One Direction." He shrugged as he tried to make sense of it all himself. "But in short, yeah. I have been. I love it. It's honestly something I've really enjoyed doing and I can really see myself sticking with it for a bit."

T: "I'm not sure yet. I mean, I have enough to release an album but I'm not sure they're really songs I want to make an album out of, you know?" She shrugged slightly. "I just feel like each album has to be better than the last and I'm not sure I'm there yet. But we'll see." The blonde smiled. She raised her eyebrows curiously, "oh really?" She asked. "That's amazing. I totally know what you mean, writing is a great way to kind of try to understand what's happening and stuff. It can be very therapeutic." She agreed. "I'm glad you're getting to work on your own material and not having to kind of conform to the band." Taylor told him before slowly sipping her tea. "I would love to hear some of it sometime, whenever you're ready to share it." She told him.

N: Niall allowed himself to get comfortable as he sat down and let out a long breath. Since the hiatus was announced, it had been a while since he had done any long distance traveling, so he had forgotten just how many hours it took to get from basically one part of the world to the other. He had to admit to himself that he was a little tired, but currently, spending more time with Taylor was more important. "I'll take some tea. Shocking coming from me, isn't it? Even I have my limits when it comes to drinking sometimes." Niall teased while turning his head to look over at her. "So tell me how you've been. How are things? Have you been keeping busy? And how are your cats?" He finished with a chuckle as he looked around the spacious apartment for a sign of the cats.

T: Taylor laughed softly and nodded her head as she set the teakettle on her stove to heat it up. While the water was heating up she grabbed a couple of mugs and placed teabags in them, setting them on a little tray with milk and sugar. "I've been pretty good, just taking some time to relax, doing a little writing here and there," she said leaning against the doorframe. She laughed when he asked about the cats, "they're good, Meredith is still as moody as ever." She rolled her eyes jokingly just as the kettle began to whistle. She went back to get it pouring water over their teabags before carrying the tray into the living room and sitting down next to Niall. "They're around here somewhere, probably sleeping." She said looking over at him. "What about you? Working on any music or anything?"

N: With a nod, Niall stepped into the large apartment and shut the door behind him, taking a look around as he stepped inside as he had only been to her apartment a small number of times before coming back. "I love your place. Have I ever told you that?" He asked as he let his black duffle bag fall to the floor as he looked over at her. "So uh, I don't really have any plans. And I really hope I'm not like, causing a disturbance by being here or anything. I brought some clothes... not many, but I didn't want to travel with anything too heavy and I figured if I needed anything I could go out and get it. Anyway, I can get a hotel or something. I know there's a lot around here so like, don't feel like you need to cater to me or switch your whole schedule around because I'm here or anything." The blonde rambled on as he watched her, running his fingers through his hair as he stood before her. "Uh... sorry. I'm just a little out of it, I guess. It's just been a but yeah. Yeah, a drink would be nice."

T: Taylor turned back to look at Niall with a smile, "thank you, I like it." She laughed, "you may have told me before but you can always tell me again." She winked playfully at him. She leaned against a chair, listening closely to him, her eyebrows raised at him for a moment before she grinned at shook her hear. "Don't be silly! You don't need to fine a hotel, you can stay here and I promise you're not a disturbance or messing up my schedule. Really the only think I had planned was to go shopping tomorrow and you could go with me if you want." She told him, watching as he ran his hands through his hair. She started walking towards the kitchen to get them both something to drink, "don't be sorry, you had a long flight, I get it. What can I get you? I have soda, tea, water, wine, beer.." she said, listing off the choices as she filled her teapot with water and set it on the stove to heat it to fix herself some tea while waiting for Niall's response.

N: As Niall stood there just on the other side of the door, he couldn't help but feel slightly nervous as he waited for her to answer. It had been a long time since the pair has seen each other, and he hoped she wasn't upset for falling off the grid once again. He was only waiting for things to settle down in his home life before he went out and saw her, and now that they were (at least momentarily) he was ready to spend as much time with her as he could. He enjoyed being around her, and he hoped that him popping up at her place without warning wouldn't cause a stir either. As he heard the lock of the door click, his smile grew wider and only a few short seconds later, she was at the door. "Surprise?" He replied with a chuckle as he wrapped his arms tightly around her small frame, taking a deep breath in as he held her close, the familiar feeling of having her in his arms coming back to him. "I hope you're not busy or anything. I just thought I'd pop in, y'know. Say hey." He teased.

T: It had been such a long time since Taylor had seen Niall. Sure they had talked every once and a while but even then, it had been a while since they did even that. Normally she would be a little upset that someone just dropped off the face of the earth and stopped talking to her without any warning but not this time. Maybe it was because she had been dealing with so much back home, it didn't even matter. She was just glad he was there now. "It's so good to see you." She said before pulling back from the hug and stepping aside so that Niall could come in. She shut the door behind him, shaking her head. "I'm never too busy for you. This explains why you were glad I said I was home tonight." She laughed. "But seriously, I was just about to sit down and watch a movie, nothing that can't be postponed or anything." She grinned looking over at him again. "It's...really good to see you," she said softly, biting her lip feeling a small blush on her cheeks. Somehow he always had that effect on her. "But um, yeah make yourself at home. Do you want anything to drink?"

N: Niall hadn't realized just how desperately in need of a stretch he needed until he stepped foot onto the hot concrete surface of JFK airport after the long flight from Mullingar to New York City. Once he had retrieved his bags from the proper area, he politely made his way through the crowds of people that had now gathered to watch his every move. After stopping to say some hellos and take some pictures, he was making his way to the blacked out SUV that was waiting for him just outside. It didn't take long until he was venturing into the city that never slept, and even though there was traffic as per usual, he knew it was only a matter of minutes until he arrived where he needed to be. As he saw the landmarks becoming more and more familiar, he sent a quick text to Taylor just to make sure she was at her apartment and just as soon as he got the response, the car was pulling into the back entrance of the complex and he was walking up to the doorman. With a nod he made his way through the brightly lit building and to the elevator, hitting the floor he knew she was on and leaning back against he railing. Their visit had been long overdue, and he would be lying if he said he wasn't excited to see her after all this time. As the beep of the elevator sounded and the doors open, he stepped out and made his way to her door, where he knocked and placed his hands behind his back as he waited for an answer.

T: Taylor had been doing a whole lot of nothing lately, well besides writing music. She had spent a lot of time in Los Angeles and Nashville with her family but she felt as though she needed to get back to her old self, and what better place to do that than in New York? After she finished cleaning up from dinner she got changed into a tank top and comfy pair of pajama shorts, just like she did every evening. On a Friday night most twenty six year old would be getting dressed up and going out to clubs with their friends, but not Taylor. She got into her pajamas and curled up on the couch with her cats to watch some sappy movie like The Notebook. Just as she had gotten settled she heard a knock on her door. She wasn't expecting anyone so with a confused look on her face she got up from the couch and padded over to her front door. She unlocked the door and opened it slowly before she finally saw who it was causing her to swing the door open. "Oh my god! Niall! What are you doing here?" She asked a little louder than she mean to, reaching out and wrapping her arms around his neck and hugging him tightly.

Tay: it's not problem, I know what it's like having a sick parent. Does she really? Why?

Tay: I know, but I wouldn't mind.

Tay: I'll keep her in my thoughts either way. It's not any further than it would be for you to come here.

Ni: Three or four weeks too long if you ask me.

Ni: Nah. I was kind of feeling the same way honestly. Good to know the feeling is mutual.

Ni: Mullingar. I'm about to take mum to a doctors appointment and I have to stick around here for a few more days, but when done I can be on the next flight out.

Tay: It really is, I don't like it.

Tay: I'm glad we're on the same page.

Tay: Oh, is she okay? I don't want to take you away from your mom, if you need to be there with her I totally understand. I could maybe come out there or something.

Tay: Sounds about right.
