Does the male character ACTUALLY have a submissive and whiny personality or he simply doesn’t adhere to YOUR stereotypical idea of masculinity? Or maybe he’s simply a queer man?
Some of you guys should truly ask themselves these questions before writing things, especially for Tim Drake and Rafayel.
I know its hard to accept but MC it’s not you, she’s not a self insert, she’s merely a storytelling tool.
we are meant to live the story through her perspective not BE her or the opposite, yes variety in body types would be nice but complaining using the “self insert” excuse it’s just not correct, and again it shows y’all never played other otome games. Most importantly using the lack of body types as an excuse to body shame MC or project your insecurities is just not it. (Because yes, calling mc all bones, saying she doesn’t have enough curves/isn’t feminine enough or that her body isn’t realistic enough is bully behaviour)
P.S.
Can’t wait for some people to find out some otome MCs have set appearances, names and sometimes even ethnicity, I genuinely feel they’d crashout lmao

I feel like the reason I don't get too bothered by things is because MCs at the end of the day ARE NOT YOU - You can make them look like you, name them after you, but you gotta remember they're gonna do their own thing story wise so sometimes instead of getting mad you kinda gotta remember that OR create an OC for it since that makes it easier to explain things.
However on the appearance thing. I'm mixed on that because I am someone who came from RPG Games with customization, LnDS is my 3rd/4th otome game. And I want diverse customization but yalls gotta remember it's an otome game and I feel it's a balance thing; Either you get a good MC with lacking guys or great guys with a basic MC. You're picking your poison no matter what. And I hate to be that person but people like male love interests with depth so...
As for the PS - I mean people are going to crash out no matter what, I once jokingly voted that if a LI had to be removed it should be Sylus because I knew people would have meltdowns about that but I think it's fair to ask why customization is there to begin with if LnDS is gonna tease us with customizing MC then show MC's default appearance in the cards or leave us stuck with straight brown hair no matter how we slice it. It's just a strange move on their part and I would've probably been okay with no customization if we're going to not go all the way with it.
And if you're going to say "Well at least YOU GOT customization" then I mean. Forgive my standards I'm new to Otome I didn't realize the bar was that low lol.
But yeah honestly Otome is the last place I'm going to look for MCs with body types or diversity. LnDS is the best otome game so far and it stuck with the stereotypical "straight brown haired white girl" mc stock and we all live in like Ohio so like I'm not looking to Otome to fulfill that quota I'm just looking at it to poke some cute guys and ignore them for an hour on a daily lol.
And I think as long as we don't let it get to us THAT badly we should be okay. It's like the Y/N vs. MC argument don't get that personal about it just have fun and enjoy yourself ^^
I agree with everything, my point is more on people that overly project onto MC forgetting how otome work.
It’s not a new thing or unheard of plotone giving free customisation but then using the basic mc for canon things and I think that’s ok bc again MC is just another character in the story, yes it’s nice that in lads I made her (kinda) look like me but from that to claiming and protesting and acting spoiled with the developers is a bit too much imo😭
Like it was never that deep and most importantly otome, unless from a western company, gather mostly to Asian girls and their standards in both looks and men taste…so it’s really dumb to claim to be the center of a universe that doesn’t even start from you.
(Again this is my humble opinion as someone that truly couldn’t care less If MC is called Sarah or MC and so on)

Something that I love about the twins is that even tho they follow (down to the name, look up the meaning of Luke and Kieran essentially it goes back to one being in the light and one in the shadows) the blunt twin vs prankster twin archetype not only they match each others freak BUT have traits that usually their counter part would have.
Let me show you:
Kieran is the twin that is usually hidden in their plans, the one tasked with keeping the both of them alive, the engineer behind architect Luke’s bold plans, he’s seen as more direct and stoic.
HOWEVER
He’s the first to agree to Luke’s plans, he’s combative and has a temper (probably the reason he’s the one in the shadows) and even tho usually characters with his archetype are also introverted, Kieran isn’t. In his free time during the holiday he went out to the festival.
Now let’s look at Luke
he’s the architect behind their plans and bad, really bad, decisions and trusts Kieran wholeheartedly, he has a tone of voice that I can only describe as more alive compared to his twin, he’s the twin that acts out most of their schemes before the intervention of Kieran.
HOWEVER
He’s just a chill guy that (unless the guy is Sylus) knows when to stop if he knows it will end up with them both getting hurt (him telling Kieran that he shouldn’t have fought that guard at the facility and making fun of him for it), even tho you’d think he’s the extroverted twin he actually preferred to stay in alone to watch a film in his free time.
Conclusion: I love them, give me 10 of them
Some of your depictions of the lads boys and analysis really tells me that lads is the first romance game you have ever played in your life.

As much as I love drama queen and princess Rafayel jokes I do truly feel that the caring and giving nature of his character is slowly being forgotten by the fandom…not only in all of his lives he gave up everything (literally even his own people) for MC but in this one he acknowledges that MC cannot be with him at all times or text him so he just asks for a “I’m ok” text, he cooks for her when she’s feeling down, he showers her with gifts, he goes to pick her up with flowers and all this man asks in return is to be reassured that she’s ok and she’s not gonna leave (and maybe some extra hangouts sessions, crazy hangouts)
This is a man who is literally ready to give MC everything and go against his own nature for her (in this timeline he got over his fear of heights just to travel with her for example)
This was all friends and foes, a bit tired of the slander and fake news regarding my babe
