Klonoa drawings from a couple streams ago.
priestxssisms:
[ロロ] “K-Klonoa… “ This pain he felt, whatever it was she could greatly relate to. Wrapping her arms around the poor boy tenderly and stroking his ear. “Please, tell me what you experienced…”
“I’m here for you… I want to be here for you”
“Besides… You can trust me, right?. I always have my faith in you...”
It was easy to sink back into her warm and comforting embrace as he quietly cried. Of course he trusted her... she was probably the person he trusted the most. He didn’t want to recount his experience but.... he knew that was selfish of him after he bothered to bring it up in the first place. He didn’t want to burden Lolo but, knowing her, it’d be more of a burden for her not to know.
Once his tears have died down, he takes a deep breath before pulling away from her embrace. His voice quivered as he spoke but he tried to remain strong.
“I... before I came to Lunatea, I was somewhere else... another world called Phantomile. I--I’d lived there for as long as I can remember... with my G--Grandpa and my best friend, Huepow...” He takes a breath, “Somehow, I ended up going on an adventure all over Phantomile with Huepow to save the world b-but--”
“G--Grandpa was killed... I--I couldn’t do anything...!”
His body is wracked with sobs again as he recalls the fate of his Grandpa. The scene was all too vivid in his mind-- happily waving at Grandpa as he was returning home, only to watch in horror as Joka flew overhead and blew up both their house and Grandpa. By the time Klonoa got there, all he could do was cry as Grandpa died in his arms...
“A--And then... after we saved the world, Huepow... Huepow told me... all my childhood memories were fake... that I was only brought there to save their world... and once L--Lephise sung her Song of Rebirth, I would be forced out of their world... because... I didn’t belong in Phantomile-- I shouldn’t have existed.”
Klonoa figured Lolo could easily imagine what happened next-- him being dragged out of Phantomile, kicking and screaming. It was the first time he cursed his fate as the so-called Dream Traveler.
“I don’t know how long it’d been when I woke up in Lunatea but... in the end, the same thing happened again...!”

Klonoa can you really turn into Lux Klonoa!?!
“Eh? Lux...?”
priestxssisms:
[ロロ] “Klonoa… P-Please.” How could she not worry if she didn’t even know about it? Something was clearly hurting him, She could just feel it through his actions and eye contact. “Remember how you were there for me? I want to do the same. You know I care about you.” She clasps his hands together before wrapping hers completely around his, tenderly. Just the fact he never forgot her after all those years after all, He kept his promise. When he comforted her when her own depression was at it’s worst… She just had to return the favor. “I want to be there for you, too.”
“After all, You always told me - I-It’s… It’s okay to cry.”
He knew she cared about him all too well. In fact, that was the only reason he was in this situation in the first place. He’d always coped with this problem of his by avoiding it. It was the best way... it wasn’t as if he could change anything. Lolo’s insistence was beginning to make him feel guilty (she was right, after all) and, as she continued, it only made it harder for him to hold his tears back.
When she parroted his own words, he finally looked up to her with wide eyes and, not too long after, tears began to freely fall from his eyes.
“S--Sorry...”
An unnecessary apology was uttered with a shaky voice. Ironic that those three words were all it took for the floodgates to open. Honestly years worth of tears. His gaze shifts away yet again as he attempts to take his hands out of Lolo’s grasp to cover his own face. It was somewhat hard to talk about when he was sobbing, anyways.

“You’re dumb!”
priestxssisms:
[ロロ] She grabbed his hands and clasped hers against them, tenderly. He was clearly masking something, She knew it. “No, wait… K-Klonoa… Please tell me.” She just couldn’t leave this last stone unturned. Something was clearly bothering him… Almost like her own emotional scars. “I won’t tell anyone else.” She looked into his amber yellow eyes, her own eyes still wet from sobbing that moment ago. “You’ve been there for me. I’m willing to do the same for you.”
“Please… Y-You can tell me anything… Don’t bottle up your emotions…”
He resists the urge to pull away when she joins their hands together. He’d hoped Lolo would simply drop the subject but knew that would be impossible. Of course Lolo would see through his feeble attempt at brushing the subject away. She probably knew him better than anyone. Besides that, she was too nice. There was no way she could ignore an outburst like that from him.
It was his own fault for bringing it up. He shouldn’t have. He didn’t know why he did. Those memories were best left locked up. Smile faltering, his gaze drifts, unable to look her in the eyes. He actually wishes he could poof out of existence right about now.
“It’s... I don’t... I don’t want to talk about it...” He shakes his head. “I don’t want you to worry...”
priestxssisms:
[ロロ] Her eyes opened up as she continued to sniffle. She noticed his shift in tone when he spoke again, She didn’t even expect such a response in all honesty. “W-Wha….?” He never heard him this sad, Even when they said their goodbyes.
“K-Klonoa…”
Klonoa was honestly surprised the words came out of his mouth. He hadn’t even realized until Lolo began to question him. It was a mistake that should’ve been easily avoided but... this was also an easy opportunity to get some things off his chest. He takes a breath as he finally pulls away from Lolo.
“I-It’s nothing! Don’t worry about it...!”
Of course, it was much easier to keep up the facade of happiness. Pretending nothing was wrong. He’d done it forever so why stop now...? His problems were nothing worth burdening Lolo with.
priestxssisms:
[ロロ] “You don’t understand, When you first left… S-So much was left unsaid…” She paused… Was it even worth mentioning now anymore? Was it worth risking the possible rejection? Could she even muster up the courage to finally just spit it out? “I’ve never met somebody who cared this much for a nobody like me and, well… The t-thing is… I…”
“…I-I love you, Klonoa!…” before throwing her arms around him, brightly blushing and letting out bittersweet sobs. “I just… I would have never been able to do any of that without your help, So I just couldn’t bear with losing you.. As we ventured my feelings only grew stronger… Y-You meant that much to me!” She took a moment, breathing for a bit to gain composure. “I-I’m sorry…”
“I’m so, so sorry… Y-You probably don’t know how it feels to lose a loved one. I’m probably just selfish… N-Never able to let go..”
Klonoa tilts his head in confusion. He definitely did not understand where she was going with this. Before he could speak up, her arms were around him and she was sobbing. He held still for a few moments, blinking as he processed what she just said to him.
...And when he finally did realize what she said, his face immediately heats up. It’s not until she starts apologizing again that he returns the hug, albeit hesitantly. He honestly has zero clue of how to respond to her confession so he’s almost grateful for the subject change. Of course, said subject change wasn’t very pleasant, either.
Losing people... he knew all too well how that felt. It was something he often tried to avoid thinking about but now that Lolo brought it up, that was almost impossible. He couldn’t blame Lolo for making old memories resurface, as it was something he hadn’t shared with her or anyone. He sank into her embrace slightly and, when he does speak again, his voice is quiet, trembling as if trying to hold back tears of his own.
“No... I know exactly how that feels...”
I've been a fan of Klonoa for many years now!! What is your favorite entry in the series? :D
(( awesome! it’s always nice to see more Klonoa fans around--! aaaand that is a good question-- I’m gonna have to go with the second game! ))

"I think Lolo has poor taste" [ HI :3c ]
@rejectednightmares
“Wha…”
“Gh-Ghadius!?”
There was no way… right?
Yeah… this must be a nightmare.
He’s leaving now.
priestxssisms:
[ロロ] “The other priestesses…” She wispered, sniffling. “T-They were all right. How could a worthless failure like me deserve to have the Dream Traveler as a friend? Let alone, my… b-best friend….”
“I only ever became a priestess that one time because you helped me. I couldn’t have done it without you, but I was just so selfish…! All of them always said I was a failure. Never able to do anything on my own.”
She removed her hat, holding it in one hand and briefly wiping away a few tears with the other one. “I’ve just been so… S-so…. lonely without you. Every day I prayed you’d return, I almost ran out of hope waiting for you. I know you said we’d always be together b-but… I just couldn’t wait any longer...!”
“That’s not true at all, Lolo--!”
It would seem Lolo was dealing with her own share of problems after their separation. Problems that he had thought surpassed when they parted. He was certain she was determined to become a priestess "for real” when he left... had that not happened? Well... it wasn’t as if thinking about it would help much.
Regardless, he couldn’t stand Lolo putting herself down like this. The Lolo he knew was anything but a failure.
“I only saved Lunatea because you helped me! We saved Lunatea! Remember Mira-Mira? I couldn’t do anything without your help! You’re... you’re definitely not a failure!”
It was rare for him to have outbursts like that... but nope, there was no way he would allow Lolo to feel bad about herself. Especially if he was the reason. Afterwards, he lets out a sheepish laugh.
“Sorry... but... I’m here now so... there’s nothing to worry about!”
