Oh that jerk.Â
He knew goosebumps broke over her skin when he touched her there, a fleeting caress along the small of her back. Itachi, sheâd learned, seemed to like nesting his palms right there, letting his long fingers splay over the curve of her ass underneath as he pulled her closer or during the times that he guided her down a hall. Or when he held her there, one hand gripping her hip and the other pressing just there as he thrustâ
âScrambled eggs could work.â Milk and a bit of salt would work and hide the lack of ingredients available best. Plus some toast would be nice and if it was too terrible, Sakura could always just walk down to the cafe down the street.
Only reason why she hadnât gone there in the first place was the cafe didnât have Itachi.
âIs it? Is it really?â Affecting a higher pitched tone and feigning surprise, Sakura milked her sarcasm for all it was worth. âThe laundry basket is in the very same closet it has been since you moved in? Are you really sure? Itachi, I would have never known if you hadnât told me, thank you so much.â
She didnât mind continuing as she walked out of the kitchen, scooping up the tshirt and pants and folding them neatly. They were clean and while she hadnât been planning on wearing them again that day, Itachiâs utter lack of food had her thinking there might be a change to those plans. She placed them on top of his dresser and nabbed a hair tie before returning to the kitchen.
âSeriously. âLaundry basketâs in the closetâ,â she repeated, imitating his voice as best she could. âLike I havenât spent enough time here to know that. Or is that your way of telling me to keep my clothes on?â
A smirk danced over her lips as she sidled up to him, reaching for the bread. Anko would skin the man alive if he ever insinuated such.Â
âItâs been at least a couple months since you guys cleaned Narutoâs apartment, right?â Sakura popped a few slices in the toaster and tried to remember the last time she let them in there. âShit, wait, itâs been like six months, hasnât it?â Her nose wrinkled in disgust at what that meant. âMaybe weâll go straight over there as soon as Ankoâs home. Thereâs a bookstore down the street I can sit in and then youâll both be in a better mood tonight.â
He had to bite the inside of his cheek to keep from laughing outright. She was only being a smart-ass because heâd gotten one over on her. Heâd seen the look on her face as heâd brushed against her skin. That glint in her bright eyes was the same one she got just before she put her mouth to his skin - a hint of desire mixed with a lot of mischief.Â
âNo need to be so sarcastic,â Itachi raised a brow at her, but couldnât completely mask the smile that tilted his lips. âI assume you woke up on the wrong side of the bed?â Obviously so, seeing as it wasnât my bed. âIf you must know, the laundry basket used to be where the sound system is now, but that was before your time.â The smirk grew.Â
The eggs began to hiss in the pan and he kept a close eye on them as he leaned back against the counter and crossed his arms. âActually,â He hummed as she returned, âI believe it was more of a hint that youâre wearing too much.âÂ
He was going to take that line of thought further, but the coffeemaker chose that moment to ding and he pushed away from the counter. âNow I know we have creamer. I just picked some up yesterday - mind grabbing it for me?âÂ
Despite coming from a wealthy family and receiving more than enough money to pay the bills, there were few things Itachi splurged on. There wasnât a point in owning expensive furniture and matching plates when chances are theyâd be ruined before he finished school - heâd learned that lesson during one particular St. Patrickâs Day with Anko. Coffee was one of those few things. He kept enough of it on hand to fuel a small army and it was all high-quality stuff, not the cheap sludge that was found in tin cans.Â
The ironic part was that he couldnât indulge as much as he wished - his heart was still too weak.Â
âYes, Iâm actually looking forward to it.â Sasuke was a fairly tidy person, but Naruto, even though he was a literally walking ray of sunshine, left a wake of destruction in his path that fell just shy of needing a hazmat crew to clean up. To Itachi and Anko it was like the Disneyland of stress relief. By the time they left, it would sparkle.Â
âAnko won't be home until tonight though. Are you planning on sticking around?âÂ
