Ā Ā What a hell of a morning. The auburn-haired student Ā Ā still felt the race of an infuriated pulse as she Ā paced Ā Ā among the books in the library, barely capable of foc- Ā Ā using on what titles she needed to look out for. Stupid Ā Ā Vortex Club and their stupid, trashy, fucked up members. Ā Ā She was so tired of hearing about them and dealing with Ā Ā them in the hallway. She hadnāt even done anything to Ā Ā any of those people, not even two weeks into her arrival. Ā Ā Yet despite her initial avoidance of trouble, someone just Ā Ā Ā hadĀ to pick a fight. Why were they all such bitches? A su- Ā Ā dden movement caught her attention, pulling her from her Ā Ā thoughts and making her small frame jump a good ways. Ā Ā Emerald hues eyed the unfamiliar, a guarded expression Ā Ā chiseling her mouth into a frown, as she scrutinized the Ā Ā other.
Ā Ā Ā āYouāre not one of those people, are you?ā
Of course she had noticed the girl pacing merely a few feet away, emanating agitation so intensely it was almost scary. She thought it best to leave her be ā there Ā were plenty of things to be angry about in Arcadia Bay, and she was already involved with far too many of them. Keeping to her reading list, she scanned the shelves until...there!
She nearly dropped the book in shock as the other jumped. It seemed her presence had only been noted now, and far too abruptly at that. Now turned to look at the unfamiliar face, she struggled to explain herself, the book feeling unsteady in her hands.Ā
āSorry, I didnāt mean to startle you, I was justā uh...those people?ā she paused for a second, not quite understanding what group she wasnāt Ā supposed to belong to. Then again, there could only really be Ā one.Ā āOh. Pff, nah, I mean...just look at me,ā a heavy shrug accompanies her words. She was far too lame for the Vortex Club. But they were mostly anyway.Ā āNot that Iād want to be a part of that anyway. Theyāre not...great.ā
fatesresignation:
Ā Ā Ā Ā WITH HER GRATITUDE PROCLAIMED the last moment they spoke she lifts her head. Sheās certain of her goal this time, a clearer description given along with the Divine Dragonās request. Search for the girl, one who carries with her a strange contraption that ācaptures your imageā, and the power of time she herself had been granted in the past. But for this girl to possess such a power⦠Mayhap curiosity adds zeal to her objective. Caught by anotherās voice in her brief contemplation however she turns. There stands a young girl and one would find her eyebrows raised, a realization coming to her that the very words of Naga had matched her appearance. Could it beā¦?
Ā Ā Ā Ā āAnd you are Maxine, I presume?āĀ
Ā Ā Ā The words freeze her in place, any form of reply refusing to leave her lips. Where she had expected the stranger to regard her suspiciously, she seems to recognise her, though Max could swear sheād never seen anyone even remotely similar. Totally bizarro...
Ā Ā Ā āY-yeah, that would be me. Uhm, sorry, but...why do you know my name?Ā āShe needs only pause for a moment to realise how rude she must have come off as.Ā āI mean, I havenāt been to Arcadia in years, so if we knew each other before I left Iām really sorry, I just havenāt...stayed in touch with anyone.ā
She looks so cool. Max shuffled uncomfortably on her feet, watching the stranger in the sunlight. She had a certain aura around her, the kind that made her thoughts jumble up in her head. It was as if the stranger belonged to her own world, one so far off and different, the girl could only wish for the courage to step closer. But she stayed still, because she knew well, she could tell. She did not belong.
Still, she really wished she could take a picture. The long, blue hair looked like it belonged to a princess, but she wore the armour and cape like a knight, likeā like an everyday hero. Maybe if she just asked nicely she couldā
"Er, e-excuse me."
