the bone breaks off with an audible snap. despite the pain being less noticeable due to her focus on the task at hand, izzy winces, but tightens her grip around the sharpened bone-dagger that she uses to deflect a blow from one of the bad guys. given that she canât manipulate the bones of other people (or simulations in this case), close combat has more or less become one of her strengths. increasing her own bone density in her right hand, she slices his upper arm with the blade in her left before punching him in the throat with her hardened right fist.
his fall is almost cartoonish in the way he simply topples over like a bowling pin.
the bone manipulator lets out a huff, brushing her hair out of her face. she drops the bone in her hand and heads for where she last saw her partner, irritation painting her features. it seems like thatâs the last of the simulated villains they were meant to defeat, since no one else jumps out at her making it easier to find yunjo.Â
when she does find him in the simulation-park, she creeps up behind him to wave her bloodied arms in front of his face. âi canât believe you dipped!â she says in place of a proper greeting, letting out a groan when a sharp pain runs down her arm. âmake yourself useful and get us some mcdonalds. i saw one on the way here.â izzy lays down on the grass, already feeling the minor fracture in her wrist beginning to heal. it tickles.
âdunno âbout you, but i wanna know if simulation chicken nuggets are any good.â
the thing with being able to create weapons out of your own bones is that thereâs often a lot of blood and pain involved. definitely not a pretty sight, much to izzyâs dismay. her tolerance has certainly grown but she still has yet to reach that level of not feeling any pain at all when using her abilities and instantaneous healing is definitely out of the question, meaning the first aid kit in her shared room with sujin can never go empty. she has nothing to worry about really, when she doubts her roommate would ever allow that to happen.
it would be easier had she paid proper attention in all those first aid training classes, but sheâs sure that even if she did, redressing a wound on the back of her left shoulder would still be a pain in the ass. it doesnât help that her right arm is still sore from a healing fracture and the painkillers havenât kicked in just yet.Â
âsujin.â she walks out of the bathroom, shirt in one hand and a roll of bandages in the other. tossing the shirt in the laundry basket, izzy turns to offer sujin a little pout, even if she knows the girl wonât need much convincing to be of help. perks of having the best roommate ever, despite all her attempts to get izzy on the good guysâ side. canât have it all, unfortunately. âi need help again. do you mind?â

hurts more that her clothes get ruined so she wears sleeveless/short sleeve tops and shorts when they do any kind of training that requires her to use her powers that way
