His comment made Alice pause, her frustration immediately gone in only the way a well thought out comment could snap one's attention away from their own feelings and force them to look at the bigger picture. "You... Have a really good point there," she agreed as she looked away from the man to the tourists. Sure they treated the whole town of Saintes like their own personal zoo- but she guessed it was better than treating the people around with blatant hostility.
She turned her attention back to the man and gave him a sheepish smile at the offer to buy her a sandwich. "You know the thing is, I'm not actually having a bad day," she said. "I think I just let my frustration get the better of me for a minute there. But I was already heading to the food truck, if you were going there anyway, I'd be okay with the company?" she shrugged, trying to keep her voice casual. She didn't want those around her to think of her as some cranky girl who got pissed off about the littlest things. She wasn't her sister, that was for sure, and she hoped that he wouldn't hold it against her.
"Truth be told, I don't know what direction I'm heading in. Google Maps does." His phone screen was held up to show he'd been clearly lost when they had crossed paths. Casper laughed at his own incompetence to navigate around the city and slid his phone in his pocket. "A sandwich sounds great. A little detour in my journey won't bother me any."
"I'm Casper by the way." The cowboy tilted his hat politely, before turning in the direction of the food truck. "I've only been here a couple of weeks and still trying to find my footing."
