Yes Afeni Shakur was Tupac’s mother, but can we acknowledge her without referencing her son, Tupac? I mean this woman was a LEGIT REVOLUTIONARY!

Afeni Shakur was literally in armed struggle against the oppressive white united snakes of amerikka! She was legit, way before she gave birth to Tupac!

I mean it is so degrading to an African woman like Afeni Shakur who gave her life to her people, then for us to center her existence around her son’s accomplishments. 

No offence to Tupac and his fans, but he was a musician that talked about the black struggle in a number of his songs and interviews. That is a brave act in it’s self, but his mother did not just talk about African resistance; she was African resistance!

She fought against the state at a time when Black Panther members and leaders were being assassinated left and right! This African woman was literally in the trenches! 

During her time in the Black Panther Party the CIA, FBI, National Guard,The Police, and every other white nationalist organization with access to weapons were waging a war with domestic African resistance! This woman literally had a bounty on her head!

What I am laying out is not even scratching the surface of how dynamic, powerful and important this African Woman was to African people world wide!

What I am trying to say is this. Afeni Shakur’s story should be…”Afeni Shakur was a powerful revolutionary soldier who sacrificed and did so much for her people…oh and she was also Tupac’s mother.” Instead what I am seeing is “Afeni Shakur was Tupac’s mother…..oh and she also was in the Black Panther party a long time ago or whatever…”

33% of black people killed by cops in 2014 were unarmed, against 18% of whites. 

We have a problem with the overall relationship between citizens and police force, but Black young males  are the most-affected demo of all.

Men and women cheat at the same rate. Just men don’t really notice the signs like women do. So they are more likely to get away with it. Women do way worse things in infidelity. Southwest Airlines Is Allowing Its Racist Passengers To Kick Muslim Passengers off Their Flights

The world’s largest low-cost airline carrier allowed a few racist passengers to oust Arabic-speaking and Muslim passengers on two separate flights this week, quickly becoming the official airline for the country’s bigots.

Two men, 29-year-old Maher Khalil and 28-year-old Anas Ayyad, who both moved to Philadelphia 15 years ago from Palestine, were speaking Arabic before their flight in the terminal this week, reports NBC Philadelphia. After overhearing them, another passenger on their flight approached the gate agent, demanding they be removed from the flight. The agent acquiesced, telling the pair that they wouldn’t be allowed to board because a passenger was afraid to fly with them.

Not knowing what else to do, Khalil called 911, telling police that he’d been racially profiled.

“If that person doesn’t feel safe, let them take the bus,” Khalil, who owns two pizza parlors in Philadelphia, said to a Southwest Airlines gate agent, according to NBC Philadelphia. “We’re American citizens just like everybody else.”

After a delay and questioning, the men were allowed to board the flight. But this wasn’t the only instance of Southwest allowing racist passengers to pick the flight roster. Passengers on a second Southwest flight from Chicago to Houston Wednesday refused to allow six Muslims on the flight, causing the Muslim passengers to have to be rebooked on another flight.

In response to the events, the company issued the following statement:

Safety is our primary focus, and our Employees are trained to make decisions to ensure that safety, and to safeguard the security of our Crews and Customers on every flight.

Southwest did not respond to Gawker’s request for comment by press time. We will update this post when we hear back.
