brown eyes scanned maple's books stands in search of a title in particular, brow furrowed in concentration at the 'business' section displayed, already regretting her purchase, wondering if going into college at her late thirties was even worth pursuing in the first place. to stop herself from getting a migraine from reading small titles and even smaller and deceptive prices, the b&b owener decided to look elsewhere, the vision of dallas from her peripheral vision immediately catching her attention. wasn't strange to see him in the bookstore; most of the books she read where after all recommended by him and yet at his words she couldn't help but smirk playfully and nod in fake agreement. "always figured you were the audiobook type" she jested with a small shrug as she approached her friend "look at you breaking all stereotypes" addie smirked, nudging the other gently to convey it was all a joke. "i do listen to audiobooks from time to time but the feeling of a physical book in hand, nothing can change that. Plus having it sit on one of my shelfs is aesthetically pleasing and when i bring someone home, the look of shock on their face is hilarious." dallas jokes as he turns to face Addie.

"the next book in this mystery series. I have been meaning to come get it but only just had time." a smirk appeared on his face at the mention of photos. She knows she probably shouldn't stare. It's rude. Or...at the very least, enough to earn comments like that one. Clara can't really help it, though. There's always something oddly fascinating about watching other people browse. The shelves they gravitate towards first. The titles they pick up only to possibly set it back down moment later. And, if she's lucky, they'll ask her for a recommendation before the leave.

She always hopes they do.

But fair enough. She probably deserved that one. Instead of rushing to defend herself, she lets the remark sit in silence for a beat them before finally speaking: "I don't know what being muscular would have to do with reading."

Turning her gaze back to the book she'd been reading before he walked inside, her fingers trail along the edges of it before turning her attention back to him, "I just wanted to see what book you were going to pick out. I... like guessing and seeing if I'm right or wrong. That's all."

"well i've been told that I look like someone who does not read and if i do read, its mostly to look an the ingredients of some food items or some gym thing." he joked. dallas always felt as if people mostly saw him as some with more brawns than brain so he found it funny when they find out he enjoys a god book.

Though now looking at the other, he wondered if maybe he was being a bit too much. he looked at the book in hand before moving to hide it from their view. "and was your prediction right? i mean now you have me curious on what you think caught my attention."

She wasn't sure what was in the air today, but it had convinced half of Roseton that they needed coffee at the exact same time she did. The entire place was practically filled to the brim with people and no matter where she looked, every table seemed to be occupied.

Then again... she probably didn't have much room to complain considering she was here too. She's about ready to cut her losses and head to the park instead when she hears his voice cutting through the chatter, stealing her attention.

"If you're boring then I guess that makes two of us." A smile finding its way onto her face as she lifts the book tucked beneath her arm into view, "I brought this with me, so I wasn't planning on being exciting." A beat. "You sure you don't mind?"

"i have been told by my students i can be a bit boring though i wonder if they only say that to pull my leg. there is only so many things one can do to make teaching entertaining to teenagers." he said truthfully. "I do not mind at all. it seems as if everyone decided that today was the best time to get coffee." leo said as he glanced around the space before turning to look back at her. "Can I ask what book is that? I do not read that often but the cover looks interesting."

Winnifred would have preferred to answer her potential client emails and work correspondents at home in the comfort her her soft bed, but her aunt's mahjong game had gotten rowdy when the gossip and booze started flowing, so she decided to make herself scarce rather than ruin somebody else's fun. She considered herself new to town still, and hadn't found may good spots to work outside of the house, which often left her at the cafe for hours. Of course, today it was busy. But luck seemed to be kinder than it had been, as she stood for no longer than a minute before someone was waving her down to offer her a seat. "Wow," She smirked as she set her tea and donut down. Childhood: they said the Douglas family were happy when a third child was born, a son they named Leonardo. they thought he would be like his siblings but it was not the same case. he tagged along with them in all the things they did and while they said he was an adorable child with bright eyes, he was quiet. too quiet some said but they blamed it on how just maybe he was too shy. the real reason though, he was afraid of the attention and having parents who showed him and his siblings off just made him want to recoil and hide. he excelled in his classes with high grades with the only comment from teachers being that he was silent all the time and never raised his hand. he did sports but only because he had to not because he wanted to. he preferred to stay at home and play video games or watch tv. they called him lazy for it but he never saw it that way. what most did not know though was that Leo is a wizard when it comes to electronics and computers, particularly coding and programming. it was his thing that he has always stuck by and always will. many don't think he is a nerd because of how lazy he is but he surprises people. he does just about whatever he wants. he's a bit of a mess, properly, but he doesn’t care much.

Adolescence: as he got older, Leo was seen as the lazy kid in the class more so than the nerd. he always sat in the back of the classroom, spending most of the time sleeping and then waking up when bell rang to head to next class. but looks can be deceiving, somehow he always passed his classes with good grades because he is an actual genius though he never was one to put his mind to things unless people made a bet he couldn't do things. even from a young age many could see he was bright but he just didn't like school. as he grew older and enter highschool he got into drugs, particularly weed was his choice and continues to be. his perception and laziness followed him up until high school graduation. for the most part, many have little to no idea who Leo actually is. he maintains a visage of complete control, laziness, defiance and indifference towards others, seeming to be a haughty and snappy kid. in actuality, he’s one of the more sensitive people out there — maybe the most sensitive. while his classmates were deciding what university to go to, Leo decided to see where life took him but his parents had other plans. they pulled some strings, donated alot of money, and he was said to attend boston university. it was a bore but Leo just shrugged it off as it was one less thing he had to worry about. he tried his hand at hacking during his last semester of high school, changing a grade for a friend, deleting email for someone who sent one on accident, etc. until he did something bold. he stole money from his father who never noticed. a calling was found and he never looked back.

Adulthood: Leo went to university as an computer science major until he decided to add a minor in education after he spent sometime tutoring and realized that he was good at it. he enjoyed science quite a bit his parents weren't exactly happy about his plan to become a teacher as they had hoped he would do something they wanted but he shrugged it off. they thought that maybe he would end up in some big tech company but he wanted an easy lifestyle. unbeknownst to them, he actually has like alot of money, mainly funded from what he's stolen. his hacker profile started off small and now as an adult is highly decorated with many things others may not like but those in the hacking word think is amazing. very famous online for it, even has a little calling card he leaves behind when he does something. Leo hides that side of him that people wouldn't think it could ever be this lazy kid. uses his hacking for good, well more like for his own good. definitely not afraid to use it to steal money from his father he loathes or other rich people that piss him off but sometimes only does it to help others.

Childhood: he remembers how his mother told the story of how they met. just two kids in love ; highschool sweethearts. one from wealth and another from a "unconventional" family, she said. for his mother came from old wealth in Texas, ranchers but his father is a smart man. good with numbers though maybe that was all he was good at as his mom ended up pregnant when they were both eighteen during their senior year. they were wed after graduation and moved from Texas to Roseton, a place near his father's university and where his mother could lived comfortably. his mother became a stay at home parent who raised one child, who she named after hometown, and then a second child would follow some time afterwards. Dallas would grow up with a gold spoon in his mouth, always getting what he wanted when asked, picking up any activity, and everything that came from a family that had alot of wealth. his father would graduate, use his smarts and connections where he worked in the local bank and slowly rise up the ranks throughout the years becoming an investment banker.

Adolescence: Time has passed, and Dallas was older. He caused a ruckus everywhere he went but always found out a way to charm yourself out of a situation or just paid your way out at times, those that sometimes led to fights and he would find it hilarious. he quite often teased his younger sibling but was overprotective of them. his mom was the parent he grew closer to while he and his dad clashed alot, whether it was about grades, sports, or anything do with reputation. he found it funny when he caused his father to turn red like a tomato when he was angered. but then. some say high school was playground. he played basketball and was one of the popular guys who could charm his way into anyone's bed or throw a rage whenever the occasion called for it until graduation came and he was sent to his father's alma mater.

Present Day: Now, at thirty, his business is booming. He lives in a nice apartment with a golden retriever who is like his child. Goes home for family dinners every Sunday and bothers his youngest sibling. But another situation has happened once more in his life. at one of the many family dinners he hates going to his father announces it: he is to remarry. Dallas wonders what poor widow manages to sink her claws into him and finds out it is someone his age. His youngest sibling throws a tantrum and he just laughs. It is funny, maybe some joke, or his father was probably trying to feel young again he thinks. But he soon realizes it is no longer a joke anymore, his father intends to get married again and he doesn't know how to feel. he sits at the local bar with his friends and one makes a joke if he could sleep with his father's fiancé. it was a stupid one off remark but wonders if he can and soon he is using all his wit and charm to seduce her, which he does. He wonders what his father is going to think if he ever finds out he is sleeping with her but for the now he is enjoying the thrill of having not been caught yet.
