It’s fairly easy to interpret as Eridan as taking it out on the girl he liked, but that’s not what happened? The idea that Eridan killed Feferi because she choose Sollux seems to be widely propagated among fandom, but that’s not what happened.

Eridan went up to Feferi wanting her to chance to come with him to join Bec Noir. At this point Eridan had judged their situation as hopeless and felt that the best way of survival would be to join Jack.

Obviously this wasn’t the case, but from his view, having Feferi join Jack with him would ensure her survival too.

Feferi and Sollux were both like ‘what the fuck no that’s an awful idea’ and understandably tried to stop Eridan

Sollux and Eridan got in a fight, Eridan won

Feferi tried to stop Eridan, for good reasons, and she was also pissed because wow her quadrantmate might’ve just died. Eridan defended himself and unfortunately killed her.

Kanaya tries to stop Eridan, to keep him from joining Bec Noir, same result because fricking overpowered magic wand.

nepeta hurried back into her cave-like hive with her latest fresh kill she hunted for a every special day, nepeta wanted to give karkat a present for finally turning 7 sweeps old, nepeta was so excited so she made sure her kill was big but small to fit in karkat's hands, Nepetas lucus was sleeping again, nepeta smiled and gave her cat buddy a rub on the forehead and then hurried off with her present to wish karkat a happy birthday.

AND ITS KARKAT NOT KARKITY" karkat angrily growls, olive green tears started dripping from nepetas eyes as she ran out the door, karkat felt a prick in his chest as he gased upon the present, karkat then start showing mutant blood tears from his eyes, the tears wouldnt stop for both karkat and nepeta, Nepeta ran back to her hive by then it was late at night, she ran and pounced onto the floor and saw she had many messages on her computer but she ingored them and burst into more tears, Nepetas lucus came to nepeta and started licking her to comfit nepeta, the lucus then laid beside nepeta nuzzling her to cheer up, but nepeta was too heart broken to even hug her lucus.

karkat walked out and grabbed the dead animal known as nepetas present, the dead animal was just a baby animal that was surpost to grow big but could fit in karkats hands, he then saw a note attached to the animals neck, karkat flipped the the note open and read the note,
