I wonder what the crash course Dick had to give Bruce about Damian when he came back was like.

Because for a year, Dick was Damian's legal guardian and, for all intents and purposes, his father. I imagine the "getting to know your kid" part took place for Bruce on his own, but when it comes to things like school and Robin? There was an adjustment period that probably all three of them were unprepared for.

Dick getting up early to make Damian's lunch and being halfway through making a sandwich before he realizes that he's back in Bludhaven and Damian is still in Gotham. It happens multiple times a week and every time it does he has to text Damian to make sure he's awake in time for school just to ease his mind about his baby bat.

Damian going to tell Bruce about how he played a game of kickball with his classmates and mentioned that he even tripped while running a base, and Bruce quickly fussing over him, making sure he's okay. Damian expected his father to be happy that he had normal social interaction with people his age (because Grayson would be elated about that and that he'd gained a 'regular childhood injury' aka non-serious scraped knee)

And Bruce looking over Damian's actions as Robin, keeping a close eye on him (bc the kid was raised by assassins) and just realizing how much he's grown from the hostile kid he met before being lost in time for a year. He sees how gentle Damian is now with kids and victims and animals and remembers Dick being the same way when he was Robin.
