With a mother that owned a little tea shop, Alice was no stranger to caffeine. She used to help her mother during the summer, opening the store early for a waking Paris. There was no better mechanism for staying awake that a breakfast tea, that she had learned quickly. Alice laughed lightly. Any normal person would be speaking a mile a minute, but years of habit had built a tolerance. “I’m surprised I managed to sit still for as long as I have!”
“I’m sure there’s a way to make it exciting… I just haven’t found it quite yet.” She chuckled before folding her hands onto the table. Alice’s own father worked as Director of Security for the french ministry. She always thought of him and his aurors as superheroes. To become one herself, well it’d be a dream. She had the marks to get her foot in the door, the aptitude for justice and bravery. What stood in her way were examinations and frankly, Ancient Runes. “That she can be, I wasn’t intending on becoming Head Girl… but one quick chat in her office and she convinced me to apply.” Minevra McGonagall was one of Alice’s favorite people at Hogwarts. Yes, she was stern, but she had a heart of gold.
“Don’t think many figure out the mystery of making Ancient Runes exciting, except for a select few.” James chuckled, shrugging it off slightly. It just be one more class he’d have to hunker down and suffer through if he ended up in it. James head tilted to the side when the mention of Head Girl came up. A title that he never thought he’d have or want. Responsibilities exactly wasn’t his forte.
“Oh, that Minerva McGonagall.” he replied, cheekily. “Torturing us by talking us to achieve our goals and more academically. Truly horrendous, if you think about it. Convincing us we need Ancient Runes in our lives.” James was just kidding and it was apparent by his sarcastic tone and small smile. McGonagall was one of his favorite professors and she was popular with most in Gryffindor. “Why Ancient Runes, if it is soo dull?”
