Mya’s small smile falters for a moment and suddenly she feels horrible about lying to Allison. Honestly, why was she even bothering to cover up the truth? To protect Edward? Sure, he’d started their little spat - but all she’d done was exacerbate it. It wasn’t right to set Allison’s sights on him now that it was over. If she told her the whole truth, though... Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad.

“Have... Have you seen Edward at all since last night?” Mya is aware of how random it sounds, and she already has the answer. If Allison had seen him already she would have connected the dots between the bruising on his face and on the back of Mya’s hand.
