I’ve been waiting so long for this. Let me tell you the story of one teenage alcoholic, Tim Riggins. He plays fullback for the Dillon Panthers before later getting moved to running back after Smash Williams graduated. Anyways, he lives with his brother because their parents are terrible people and abandoned them which probably explains why his answer to what his favorite thing about football was, he just likes to hit people. He’s starts off a very troubled young man. His best friend, QB1 and top QB in America, Jason Street got paralyzed in a football game, and he blamed himself for it – even though he was 30 yards away when it happened. The man has many flaws, but he’s an enigma. Sure he shows up to practice drunk, sleeps with his paralyzed best friend’s girlfriend and has the rally girls do all of his homework, but he’s actually a very noble guy who protects girls from harm during a hurricane, takes them dress shopping for pageant gowns when their mom won’t, lets Coach think he’s a piece of shit for trying to sleep with his drunk daughter, even though he wasn’t – he’d saved her from some creep and was just trying to put her to bed. Sure he blew his college scholarship to San Antonio state, but he was never trying to go pro! He just wanted to stay in Texas and drink and fix car’s with his brother. He’s a funny guy just looking to live his life with no regrets. He likes you to think he’s a sarcastic wise ass, but that boy had the biggest heart of all. Hell, he took the fall for his brother who set up a chop shop and went to jail for over a YEAR for him, so he could stay home and be a dad to his newborn son, since they never had a dad. The man’s all heart and the Dillon Panthers would have never went and won state in 06 with out him and Jason Street would probably be dead after going to Mexico and trying to get shark stem cells put in him in some back alley. That man was a legend on and off the field. Texas, forever.
Friday night lights! 100% agree with that story. You forgot one factor though. That guys also had a mane of glory. I think he is literally one of the best characters on TV and the way you sold it to me makes me know you feel that way too. Although... I’m kinda waiting for a certain person to play Tommy lee? Now that is what I want to see... any thoughts?
