I was around back then -- my preteen and teen years spanned the decade! I remember the culture, the fashion, the aesthetics.
It's funny -- I was mallgoth af in middle school and early high school. Hated Paris, hated pink and preppy things, all that jazz.
Then scene came along, with hot pink and glitter, and fashionable influencers we called "Scene Queens" who were innovating a whole new look -- part emo and part Barbiecore in its vibes.
I love 2000s aesthetics and fashion now! From mainstream looks, to the playful edginess and sparkly alt glamour of scene queens, I'm all about this decade's distinctive and unique vibes.
