Colour in a meta perspective
I think its interesting that Colour thinks of things from a meta perspective. here's my take on this:
ever since colour got into the void, it messed up his whole sense of reality. we know that he is an 'optimistic nihilist' but i think he'd develop an existentialist view by the end of the othertale colours story. for those who dont know:
nihilism: life is without objective meaning, purpose, or intrinsic value, often leading to the rejection of established moral, religious, and political authority
existentialism: personal freedom, individual responsibility, and deliberate choice are essential to the pursuit of self-discovery and the determination of life's meaning.
colour is fully aware that he himself is 'not real' and is just a video game character. he ALSO knows the existence of other versions of himself, resets, timelines, codes and all that hunk of junk.
to me he is aware, but maybe not AS aware as ink/error is. yes, he knows he is a video game character following a string of code. but we know that most sans aus are aware of that but choose to not comment on it so much.
for ink/error. while yes, they see everyone as strings of code or following a specific script, they are also aware of the existence of 'the creators'. they both know so much yet others dont realise how much they know
yes i also know that killer is aware of 'us' as well but from a 'player' perspective. i assume the same goes for colour since he has had dealt with the player himself.
i think thats why colour is wary of ink. afterall, to ink everyone is nothing but code and he doesn't develop relationships beyond just 'acquaintances'
in short, colour knows about the player and the fact he's made of pixels. what he (probably) doesnt know about are creators and how much control we REALLY have over them. only ink and error are aware to that extent
this is just another ramble and slight philosophy dump lawl
