*ROYAI Italian Dubbing*

Happy Royai Day, everyone!!! Today I’ve brought to you some saucy analysis about Royai in FMAB Italian dubbing because my aspiring script translator ass decided everyone has to enjoy Royai in another language that, like English, has to rely on dubbing to enjoy foreign movies and tv series.

DISCLAIMER:

1. I’m a translation and interpreting student, my thesis was about audiovisual translation which is a topic that really intrigues me but I’m still way far from perfection and I’m, of course, no expert. This is just my analysis about Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood Italian dubbing and how it handled Royai differently from the English version. Hope that’s not too biased because I love them too much and hope you’ll enjoy my way-too-long rant.

2. I’m not trying to criticize professional work. In my opinion, both versions are REALLY good and I enjoyed them a lot. Yet, I think both have their flaws: English dub didn’t bless us with some more Royai in the expressions and voices and the Italian version… well, I added an example for this so I won’t spoil it beforehand.

3. I had to choose some episodes and restrained myself to analyse every second of it because I would have gone mad and you all with me ‘cause the post would have been like 2-hour long.
