Yaching Marmaris
Historically, a yacht was a light, fast moving and agile vessel used by the Dutch naval forces of old to chase down pirates. A surviving relic of it's evolution is the word yacht: it's derived from the Dutch word for hunt. Exciting stuff! Things have come a long way since the days of yachts policing the seas.
The 'jacht' as it was known back then, was a successful member of the Dutch naval fleet owing to it's maneuverability. This made it a versatile boat and it soon found it's way into other seafaring duties such as customs and government roles and delivering maritime pilots to ships already at sea. This found favour amongst merchants who had private yachts built so they could greet incoming trade ships - this evolved further and soon, wealthy individuals began using yachts for recreation and pleasure trips.
