                   GOING OUT TO DRINK AT NIGHT wasn’t anything new to the brunette, whenever the end of the week rolled around and she was free from work she’d be out near the bar. she’d either go alone, with her rommate, co-workers or anyone from the complex, but her goal was clear each time. she wanted to disconnect and relax. if she ended up stark naked under the sheets of someone whose face and name she wouldn’t remember the next day, it didn’t bother her. jiae was well on her way to achieve so, having been talking to a pretty girl for the past half an hour when slender arms wrapped themselves around her waist. her first reaction was to elbow whoever was touching her but the slurred voice near her ear made her freeze in the spot, lips parted as a shaky breath escaped them. it had to be obvious how much it was affecting the shorter of the two, since the girl she had been talking to scoffed before walking away. jiae was still in a daze, her drunken brain having a hard time processing that lina was there. she was asking for her, she missed her. despire her fuzzy memory and wretched feelings, the brunette knew her ex best friend meant trouble everytime. “stop, please....” she almost begged, hands clasping lina’s as her eyes were closed and her lips trembled. it had been years but one touch from her had the brunette almost collapsing. “you’re drunk... and so am i... we won’t remember....”

         kihyun looked away towards the glaring sun, noticing that it was probably unwise to continue their conversation outside. he could always put of exercising for another day, it wasn’t every day he could meet a new neighbor, moreover someone who had barely spoken with any of them. “ nice to meet you too. ” he replies with a smile as he listened on to her words. “ understandable. you’d be surprised that actually not all of us know each other very well either. ” some maybe too well, he adds on in his mind, but opted to keep his mouth shut on that in fear of ruining her first impression of them. he studied her features then, sort of a way to imprint her face into his mind. it’d be awkward if he forgets her by the time they see each other again. it was painfully obvious that she wasn’t used to small talk, for he himself had a habit of fidgeting when he was in a loss for words or stuck in a situation he had no control of. “ i guess you could say a little bit of both ? i’m a dancer for the nearby studio. what about you ? ” he asks casually. “ also, i think we should continue our conversation somewhere with a bit more shade ? unless you’re the kind that’s into getting tanned quickly … ” he joked, hoping to lighten up the mood a little.

          AS SHOCKING AS IT WAS TO HER, it wasn’t completely awkward talking to a stranger. jiae was good in close distance if it was flirting, adding innuendos or alcohol to the mix to assure herself of success  --  and during work she was also a professional, but interpersonal relationships where there was small talk and no footing to hold onto?  terrible. so she was certainly surprised at seeing kihyun and her getting along somewhat nicely. “i guess it’s because there’s so many of us and we’re all busy with our own lives, so it’s hard to get to know all of your neighbors.” it seemed logical, but mostly for her it was because she hadn’t tried at all to get to know those who lived in the same complex as her. nodding along to his response, she realized that they were indeed still out under the blazing sun. beads of sweat gathered on her skin as the unnerving sunrays gave them no other choice but to move, with a small gesture she pointed to where the complex was since it was the closest spot and it was considerably more cold than outside. “we should consider getting some ac here or maybe a few fans.” she commented with a small smile, moving her hair over her shoulder. “back to the other question, i work as a tattoo artist so if you want ink sometime you should hit me up. and it’s so cool that you’re a dancer, i’m always impressed seeing choreographies on youtube.”
