Happy 10th Birthday to the Torosaurus‬ statue! On October 22nd, 2005, the iconic statue was dedicated. It has now become a part of Connecticut culture, appearing on everything from T-shirts to @dunkindonuts mugs!
Preparing for our 150th Anniversary Celebration next year!
After the lights go down and the doors locked behind, the spirits of the Peabody Museum come alive. Experience the Museum as you never have before with our 2nd annual haunted costume ball! Dance with the dinosaurs, slither with snakes and other creepy crawlies, imbibe our special witch's brew, and experience tours of terror through our haunted halls. Costumes encouraged but not mandatory — the evening's "best" costume will be handsomely rewarded.
Advance ticket purchase required, tickets will not be available at the door. All tickets are non-refundable.

On March 20th, 1979, the then Peabody director Professor Keith Thomson and Rudy Zallinger went on WTNH News 8 twelve o’clock news to promote the launch of the new T-shirt version. Earlier that day, Thomson and Zallinger presented the first T-Shirt to Giamatti, in an event covered by the New Haven Register.

As we prepare for the opening of The Birds of America: ‪‎Audubon‬ and the Double Elephant Folio, we take a look back at another ‪bird‬ exhibit, Feathers, which ran from July 19 - December 11, 1977.
It's the first time they've seen one of these creatures in the area this year.
