This is a lot to unpack.

First thing’s first: I’m glad your edgy “uwu the world isn’t fair” yansim stan ass isn’t having kids bc you sound exactly like my abusers lmao. I don’t care who you are, don’t refer to teenagers as creatures. Don’t tell abuse victims that they’re full of themselves.

Listen. We’re not dumbasses. Not all parents who use tracking devices are abusive, we know that. Example: My boyfriend and his (not abusive) mom agreed to have a tracking app installed on his phone when he started driving for safety reasons (in case he got lost, in an accident, went missing, etc). He wasn’t forced. He wasn’t stalked. He wasn’t punished or abused for going where he wasn’t supposed to go. Eventually, he stopped using it. No fuss.

This post isn’t for situations like what I’ve described above. This post isn’t for kids and parents who have discussed this and are using it for safety reasons. This post is for people, like OP and myself, who have highly controlling/abusive parents. Parents who control every little thing you do and emotionally/physically abuse you every time you do something “~bad~,” or they even THINK you did something “~bad~.”

And this post isn’t just for kids being abused by their parents. Abusive partners (friends, romantic partners, spouses, etc) can put Hum in their victim’s car, too.

Also fun fact, restricting ways to travel (ex: banning from the car) is very much a tactic used by abusers to control their victims so shut the fuck up maybe.

P.S.: On the subject of parents and tracking. Even if the parents aren’t abusive, using tracking devices/apps is still invasive as hell and not everybody is going to be okay with it. Good intentions or not, it’s still creepy, especially if the kid is given no choice and ESPECIALLY if the kid is given no warning. In fact, giving no choice or no warning raises massive red flags. TALK TO YOUR FUCKING KIDS.
