Believe it or not, it's a Yandere Simulator fan story.

About The Story

In general, "Love Sickness" is meant to be a Yandere Simulator fanfiction. I plan on keeping the same aspects of horror and romance, as well as the canon 20XX characters.

The only real difference may be a lack of certain functions (elimination types, robotic reactions), maybe some lore differences, changes in some characters' "canon" personalities, and the addition of ocs (most of them are as important as the other students).

I plan on looking into every student, regardless of how boring I may find them or how difficult they may be to write. By including every student, I hope to add character and liveliness to Akademi, not to add aspects that I find personally appealing or to drastically change their appearance.

About The Writer

I don't personally take pride in writing about myself in my posts, but there are some things I may need to make clear or warn you, the reader, about before you properly get into my story, art, ideas, and headcanons. Such as:

1. Yandere Simulator

The game as a whole is a lovely idea. What isn't lovely is the lack of development and the constant controversy that surrounds it. Although, the lack of production has motivated me to rewrite it from a book-writing point of view. So, in some twisted way, I am thankful.

2. Yandere Dev

By no means do I intentionally support Yandere Dev, his actions, or his life. Frankly, I feel like you'd have to hold similarities to his twisted appeals if you did. My love for the game's potential is different from how I feel towards or view the dev and even the game itself.

3. The Gore

I am not afraid to or against writing or drawing disturbing or terrifying scenes. The game itself IS based around that subject, after all. I bring this up because despite how big the Yandere Simulator fandom is, due to it being made up of young individuals, the disturbing bits of it aren't often brought up in fan-made content. I could be explaining that wrong, but I digress. Take this as a fair warning, as the story goes on, it becomes more and more likely that something horrific will occur- regardless of if it's a rival's elimination or the events that happen to the other students.

4. The Lore

Despite my constant viewing of the lore, I admit I have serious trouble keeping up with it due to it being such a mess. If something doesn't align with whatever lore is canon, then feel free to message me about it. It's either a mistake or something I've decided to neglect.

5. Messages

I'm open to messages, and comments are encouraged. Regarding the messages, don't feel afraid to message me, regardless of what you want to talk about. If you have questions, complaints, or suggestions, I'll address them all within the messages. I don't believe that any question you may have could be offensive unless you want it to be so. I accept any messages, and if I find anything over-the-top ridiculous, then I have full access to the "block" button.

6. Trivia

This is common sense, but I'll state this here anyway. I am in no way obligated to serve anyone a specific date, character, ship, trope, piece of lore, stereotype, or personal wish to you, the reader/viewer. This is MY fan story, and since I am the creator, it will carry on how I want it to. I'm willing to listen to your personal wishes, but regardless of how I may appear to you, you can not expect me to bend to your wishes simply because you asked. Hello again, it's been some time, and I feel I must admit by saying that I've been out of trade school for a couple of months.

Below is the full explanation of where I've been and my plans for this account.

The entire incident was the trade school being shut down for a time, so I decided to try my best to focus on getting a job. Unfortunately, thanks to my urban location and the small number of available jobs, it's been difficult for me to do that as well.

As for why I haven't been posting, it's primarily because I didn't have the time or motivation to continue writing the story in the detail I had beforehand. That along with the fact that my ability to transfer pictures from my art device to my posting device being messed up prevented me from posting art for a time.

Generally, I've been trying to think of a new formula to post with, so that I can still put out general content. And I've actually come up with one.

I won't have the time to post full chapters of the story like I've been doing, but I still had a general idea of where the story would go. So, I've decided that a better alternative to actually getting the story out there would be to just summarize it. Explain what I planned on doing with the rival, give my ideas for the events of the week, and add in any other ideas or unique aspects I was previously interested in posting.

I think this will be a better way to let my goals for the story be shown without having to post one chapter over the course of a full month. Previously, I was inspired and have a lot of motivation and time on my hands, but since I have to progress with my life and have other things take up time in my life, that isn't the case any more.

I hope that by attempting to put my goals for the weeks into easier-to-understand format (hopefully accompanied by art), I'll be able to complete my original goal of showing how much better Yandere Simulator could be. Of course, that is simply to my standards, but I imagine anyone who's followed along with my posts is at least okay with where I was going with the story and my concepts.

Anyway, I'll post art of what I was able to draw and transfer before my art device was messed up right after this. I'm very open to questions and complaints if anyone has any, so feel free to comment or message me.

To be completely transparent- I do not have a posting schedule, and I can't promise when I will be able to start this progress. I can only guarantee that this more languid posting style will help me pump out more content regarding the story, as well as some art here and there.

Even on my very first yansim account, I didn't consider Saki and Daku as a couple at all- this is something I came up with recently. Believe it or not, I held Kokona in mind when I made these two a couple.

My intent was for Saki to be everything that Kokona wasn't. While they're still friends, Saki was always more confident in her decisions. She actually has a boyfriend, has stuck with her club for a long time, has a future career in mind, while all of Kokona's "important life choices" have been left unfinished in all three of those aspects.

On Daku's part, I really just couldn't find an interesting way to give him more character. He's very reliable and mature as is, but I wanted to look more into how he'd react in certain situations. So, I decided to give him a girlfriend- one that might challenge his ideals and usual personality by being the exact opposite of him. (Although with the events in Amai's week, I wonder how I'll go about that..)

♡ Maka Tansei & Horo Guramu ♡

I imagine that when you're as smart and accomplished as Horo, you eventually get bored of shaking hands with old men in suits. I feel like even if he doesn't like parties or anything, he does like trying to live the normal life of a high school dude.

However, since that chance is basically already robbed of him, he usually settles for the thrill of the abnormal. And that thrill usually comes in the form of... whatever it is that Maka does. Horo has started to think that even SHE doesn't know what she's doing.

My first thought when wanting to ship these two was just "they're both pretty, I wonder what it would be like if they dated". I think I especially liked how, despite the fact that they both could be popular for their looks, they're both completely different people. Even though they had no interactions in the game (then again, not many characters do), this couple has always been in my mind. I just didn't know how to execute it.

♡Gema Taku & Musume Ronshaku♡

Gema and Musume are likely dating by the time week one ends thanks to Ayano's help, so I'll count that. I don't want them to STAY together, and I can't say that they genuinely like each other, but they ARE dating in the story.

I think Gema's crush on Musume is mainly superficial and stems with Musume being exactly like Gema's type. Unique fashion, leader of the group, super popular... that's likely been some sort of stereotypical delusion of his that he hung onto since Musume came around.

On Musume's end, as I said, I don't think this is the first instance she's dated some loser for the benefits. In this case, she dates him for money and so that she can possibly boss around the Gaming Club. It doesn't hurt to have another follower, after all.

There are plenty of other romantic relationships in the story, varying from one-sided crushes, past couples, future couples, and ambiguous couples like Sakura or Mai and their unknown boyfriends. And then there's whatever Kokona and Riku are going through.

I might actually write down ideas in order to explain all of these relationships, regardless of how they vary, but I won't post it unless asked. It might be a good idea to leave those ideas in my drafts, actually. 🤔

It's been interesting writing Ayano thus far. I don't want to spoil my future plans for her, but I have an interesting idea that I think I've been incorporating into how she speaks, acts, and interacts with others pretty well.

It's also interesting seeing how Ayano looks from how she started. When I started a couple months ago, the way I posted the characters were really messy. (And frankly, it still is, but my pattern is more recognizable now.) I can't say that I posted this for the sake of showing "how far my art has come" because I don't think it's changed much.

I think that seeing how I draw and write for Ayano now is different but still just as messy as when I started. At first, it was because I simply didn't know what I was doing, and now it's because I'm rushing to finish. That, of course, isn't a good thing, but it's strange seeing that when comparing the two now.

Anyway, the support thus far has been very helpful and motivated me to get to this point and hopefully continue posting once I've finished school and gotten my life together. It's been fun seeing what little feedback I got and receiving a few asks. The last OC! I'm writing this on October 7th to be posted tomorrow, and I also have another post planned out for the 9th that should be ready to post.

I admit, I wanted Ansel to look creepier than this, mainly to serve as yet another contrast to Ayano. She's seen as some regular school girl and frankly is a legitimate monster if she so chooses. Meanwhile, Ansel is antagonized for his appearance and lack of proper communication when he really doesn't mean any harm.

I suppose the "armed" category doesn't help for him in this case, though. I think he carries some sort of weapon around, but he's allowed to have it both in school and in public. He likely has it for self-defense, which is ironic since most of the students think that he has it for the sake of harming others.

The reason why I give Ansel the "dangerous" persona is because, if given the chance, he will save his peers from any sort of danger, whether that be from Ayano, some outside danger, or his own peers.

1. Antagonize for looking creepy as hell. Since he's so tall, it he's standing in any dark corner, most students have a right mind to turn around and leave immediately.

2. The fact that he's usually smiling doesn't help either. As well as the fact that he doesn't talk much. Both of these are due to a temporary paralysis in his face.

3. No one makes a habit of talking to him, so he significantly lacks socializing skills.

4. Ansel would EAGERLY like to speak to his peers, but outside of his physical inability to do so, he's simply too scared to do so due to his intense fear of people.

5. For reasons unknown to his current peers, he was very unpopular in middle school.

6. Ansel tends to shy away from confident students and, alternatively, is eager to get to know the shyer ones.

Tsubaki Uesugi: For some reason, Ansel is very interested in Tsubaki, although his peers usually assume the worst of him. He's scared Tsubaki half to death trying to approach her, which only caused their peers to feel the need to stand up for Tsubaki, further tarnishing his already low reputation.

Himari Fujita: Although Himari is openly suspicious of Ansel, he doesn't see her in any negative light. Rather, he admires her continuous bravery and wishes to protect Tsubaki- even it that bravery, too, is rooted in fear. He tried approaching her, maybe in an attempt to clear some of her suspicions, but she told him straight up that she didn't feel comfortable around him, so he left her alone.

Umeji Kizuguchi: Ansel carries around a weapon (although he has a reason for doing so), is intimidating, and has a bad reputation, do he's often compared to a delinquent. Umeji once confronted Ansel about this, but since he couldn't speak, the conversation ended either Umeji telling Ansel to just clean the rumours up. (Which he has yet to do.)

Aye, the ally Ayano dislikes so much. In terms of the persona, I feel like an "ally" persona gets as straightforward as they come. If one person accuses Ayano of committing murder, an ally will claim that Ayano was with them, likely getting rid of a ton of suspicion and leaving the suspicion on the accuser. Additionally, if there's more than one accuser, the ally likely won't back Ayano up, and instead will help Ayano get rid of the evidence- only if a crime has been seen or if Ayano asks them to.

Then again, an Ally isn't meant to be a multi-student thing, and several cases are unique in Amise's case due to her supposedly being the "perfect" Ally. On that note, the only reason she ISN'T the perfect ally is due to her reluctance to help Ayano most of the time. Ayano Aishi: Ayano does trust Amise any more that she does her, but frankly only sees her as a walking favor. Amise often names students that she doesn't want Ayano to harm in any way, but even this depends on the situation. If the time comes where one of Amise's favorites gets in the way, or even if Info-Chan gives Ayano permission, she'd likely kill that student regardless.

Kuroko Kamenaga: Megami expressed concern and suspicion towards Amise and told Kuroko to keep an eye on her. Still, while Kuroko doesn't think that Amise is up to anything, she is cautious around her.

Horuda Puresu: Although Horusa herself is pretty morally gray, she gets along well with Amise. Amise knows that if Horuda is pushed far enough by the bullies, she'll likely do something that she'll regret, and Horuda knows that she knows this, so she takes her advice most of the time.

I think Ash (based on his preferred company) likes to stick around folks who know how to keep their cool. This, at least, balances his easily irritable personality and allows him to have normal conversations easier. At least with those specific people.

And as I stated above, since he's not only stubborn but pretty strong, I think that he'd be a royal pain for bullies since he's not only stubborn, but plenty strong, and probably gives the bullies an earful for bothering him. I wonder if he'd ever defend other students with that same attitude? 🤔

Ash's peers are sort of split between knowing his anger isn't something he can control too well right now and just hating him for being annoying. I'm sure Enpitsu makes up almost the entirety of the latter as well.

Enpitsu Byoga: Although the two aren't exactly "enemies", Enpitsu and Ash are often found arguing over close to nothing. Since their peers compare the two's appearance and personality, they accuse the other of copying them. Although these arguments never escalate, they're both found equally annoying due to how frequent these arguments happen.

Kiba Kawaito: Despite how notorious Ash is for being so easily irritable, Kiba is usually pretty sympathetic towards him and talks to him frequently. Ash is a pretty big fan of her fashion and admires her patience with him. Ash sometimes looks forward to listening to her Kiba's creative ideas.

Rojasu Norubiru: Rojasu doesn't know Ash very well, but their peers notice how badly Ash wants to become his friend. Ash admires how lax Rojasu is, especially since he himself can get so emotional. Since he looks up to Rojasu so much, he's too embarrassed to actually speak to him.

I wouldn't put it above either Shozo or Uekiya to do school-related tasks outside of school. I imagine Uekiya suggests planning a day out where she, Geiju and Shozo (the ones who work together most frequently for special events) go out to (window) shop for things they may need.

Geiju finds after school time as time strictly for things that have nothing to do with school, usually, so he doesn't often bother going.

Shozo, I believe, sees it as a very useful idea, as using free time to get more work done sounds productive, and Uekiya is just happy to be around people.

Bea is another one of my longest-lasting OCs from so long ago. She was on the same level of importance as Colleen and Amise and would likely make some pretty big changes to the story. This is because I imagined Bea able to be both a secure ally or enemy depending on Ayano's actions.

I don't have the entirety of the story planned out, and really just have some rough drafts of the main events in each week, so I'm not sure when exactly I'll decide that Bea will be an "important character" and make whatever changes I have planned for her.

1. Bea is known for being a pain in the ass. She usually casually insults people in any situation. Greetings, departures, such and such. No matter the event, she speaks so casually that it either flies over the heads of her peers or they're too used to it to care.

5. Bea often leaves her motives and goals ambiguous, so whenever she finds out someone's "dark secret", that person remains on edge simply because they don't know what she'll do or why.

Kokoro Momoiro: Kokoro and Bea have known each other since middle school. Bea was Kokoro's very first friend and remained as such to this day. Bea was really good at making sure Kokoro didn't do stupid things. Whenever she did anything remotely embarrassing, Bea made sure to react in an intense manner so that Kokoro felt too ashamed to so it again.

Midori Gurin: Bea likes making stupid conspiracy theories about Midori due to Midoru refusing to say why she has her scar, amongst other things. Since Midoru is already pretty weird, most of the students either believe what Bea says or ignores both of them collectively since they're both weird. When students ask Midori about Bea's claims, she usually answers ambiguously.

Maka Tansei: Bea likes testing out Maka's artistic talent by requesting she draw weird or unique things. Sometimes, Bea puts her art on the walls of the hallways, which honestly just makes the students feel unnerved.

Cassian is a man of many talents. And since he grew up always tight on money, he uses these talents to get paid for favors and tasks. His other peers would complain about this if he wasn't so good at so many things.

Despite hating school, he's motivated to study for someone else's homework if it gets him money. He's not that strong, but he'll spend a good hour lugging something around if he's paid to.

Frankly, his peers are stuck between deciding if his motivation is a good or bad thing. Frankly, I think 50/50 for them.

I guess if Cassian had a function in the game, it would be doing all sorts of favors for Ayano so long as she was able to pay. Considering you can earn so much money with your job, someone to spend it on to do dirty work for you makes sense, I think.

1. Cassian, frankly, is known for being annoying. He does this by pushing any limit available as far as possible. And this usually includes barely breaking rules, pulling all sorts of annoying (but harmless) pranks, and convincing more gullible students to do the same.

3. Apparently, the way he dresses and presents himself is his way of ticking off his bullies. He was picked on in middle school for having a girly face, so he made "girly things" his personality to get rid of the worth of the insults thrown at him.

5. Cassian likely struggles with an inferiority complex with men.

Beshi Takamine: Cassian used to go to church with Beshi, as he was pretty popular with the other folks who attended for being so cute. At the time, Cassian found church boring, while Beshi was dead set on obeying her parents. When the two were kids, Cassian tried to be cool and funny by casting trouble, while Beshi either tried to stop him from doing so or was the one who told on him. They have a pretty similar relationship today.

Hana Daidaiyama: Most interactions between Hana and Cassius include them throwing insults, humiliating each other, flirting with each other, or exchanging gossip. Frankly, both of them and any third party have given up on defining their relationship. They USUALLY hate each other.

Raibaru Fumetsu: Cassian is a seasoned pro at annoying girls since he has five older sisters to annoy at home. Since Raibsry is so responsible and scolds Cassian whenever he's causing mischief, he treats ger like his oldest sister and nags her specifically. Sometimes when he gets into a fight, he'll run to hide behind her and tell her to fend the student off.

Colleen is actually one of the really old OCs I made back on my very first yansim account. I didn't do much with her, and I wasn't writing as much, so I never really found any time to write her in. Still, she was meant to be a detective esc character just to be another obstacle for Ayano.

Originally, I had no reason as to why she wanted so badly to find justice outside of "she's probably just a good person". Now, I have some sort of roundabout reason, and that's so that Akademi turns its facade of a good school into an actual good school. At first it was just so her father didn't pull her out of school, but as she continued solving problems and minor mysteries, she eventually starts realizing just how unfair treatment can get in Akademi, and that changed her reason into the "goodness of her own heart" I suppose.

1. Due to how strict her father is, Colleen constantly has to lie to him about how great Akademi is so that he doesn't have a reason to pull her out. If she told her dad about the constant bullying (not even just to herself) and isolation, he'd likely force her to homeschool again, and wouldn't let her leave until she was able to provide for herself.

2. Colleen's original goal with dealing with injustices was just to make her claims about Ajademi being a good school more accurate and truthful, but eventually, she began to compare the injustices to her own life. This caused bullying and manipulation at Akademi feel more personal, and she found herself simply wanting to help her peers.

3. Colleen is notorious for being a weirdo. She doesn't get modern slang and usually rejects whatever is new to her, which also makes her "boring" by her peers' standards.

4. The reason why Colleen is so "weird" is because she grew up too sheltered. As she grew older she figured out that her living situation made her stupid to Social norms. So, she eventually was able to make her father let her go to school, and she got accepted by acing an entrance exam.

5. If any sort of foul play occurs in Akademi, she usually finds out who and why it happens in order to keep up Akademi's reputation, and ridding of trouble-makers helps with that.

(I wrote it in a separate order, so it no doubt sounds messier when put this way. I'll make sure to write it differently next time.)

Emile Cappella: To Colleen, Emile spontaneously decided to have a crush on her when she even lacked significantly in just friends. The more Emile attempts to get closer to her, the more skeptical and suspicious Colleen gets. Still, Colleen rationalized that if Emile wa sreally trying to manipulate her, then surely he'd eventually just give uoband leave her alone.

Beruma Dinkuri: Beruma is the least likely to give suspicious people the benefit of the doubt, which is something (along with her distaste for bullying) that Colleen respects about her. If asked, Colleen would likely be too scared to call Beruma her friend out of fear that Beruma won't agree. This is due to the Colleen not having many friends. Still, the two are great partners-in-crime(justice?) when it comes to exposing wrong-doers.

Shiromi Torayoshi: Despite Shiromi's status and relations, Colleen can't help but find her overwhelmingly suspicious. Colleen is one of the very few who has ever seen Shiromi doing suspicious and borderline illegal things, but was never able to get evidence of her doing these things. When Colleen went to Kuroko with her problem, the former nearly begged her not to say anything, ensuring her that Shiromi was being monitored and meant no harm.

I think Emile might just be one of my more normal characters. While writing about him, I figured out that I wanted to keep him as a light-hearted, well-meaning character.

The only problem that occurs is his incurable nosy-ness. Originally, he was based on two generally light-hearted and well-liked characters from two different fandoms, and Emile was meant to make up the worst of both of those characters by being more secretive and sneaky. As of now, he's just nosy and a nerd.

But, similar to other well-meaning characters (like Fureddo, Kuroko, most of the Martial arts club), his willingness to help tied with his inability to mind his business might lead to an untimely end. Not that I have one planned out at the moment, but I'm glad I can put him in a certain "category". That will definitely help me proceed with the story.

He knows very well that she's regularly very suspicious of things she's not used to, so he hopes that by interacting with her often, she'll become more used to him.

Chojo Tekina: Chojo is considered a very good friend by Emile, as Emile likes hearing him blab about the supernatural. It's an interest they both have in common, and their dynamic consists of Chojo finding myths and Emile investigating to see if they're true or not. Together. The two are something like kids detectives, despite socially being known as Pilar opposites.

Kaga Kusha: Kaga and Emile don't know each other well because Kaga (thankfully) Likes to keep his peers a very far distance from his personal life. Still, Emile likes to run info-gathering errands for Kaga from time to time simply because it helps him learn things- which is Emile's favorite hobby. Sometimes Kaga let's some information about himself slip during random ramblings, which Emile likes to keep in mind.

I admit, I prefer the very first picture of Gema that I drew, even if it's only detailed due to the limited picture. I feel like the stupid glasses and the headband and stubble really add to the character he is rather than whatever stereotype he's supposed to be.

Genuinely, it brings me more joy writing interactions between him and Ayano than the thought of writing him and Musume does. I guess just because he can be his real self around Ayano without feeling pressured to keep up a facade when they're alone.

I feel like the bullies, despite how fun it is to draw them, are a bit weak in regards to their fashion. Or at least, there's really not much context put behind their fashion. By all means, looking at it at face value, it's either a group of girls who "happened" to like the same fashion or a way of knowing that those girls belonged to that group, similar to every other club. The only problem with that is that they aren't an actual club.

Not that this is very much about the gyarus. More so about what I tried to do with Francesca here. Putting it simply, I admired the gyarus in Yansim due to how unique they looked, and wanted to make a character that was less mean- and more so aimed towards justice than whatever evil ideas the bullies have in mind canonically.

Hence why I spawned in a character who has to defend herself as well as attempts to keep her look in check. I give Frankie a sort of "motherly" persona, but much less like Uekiya. Rather than just being sweet all day and all night, she's usually pretty bossy, if not just outright mean sometimes.

If you're doing something obviously bad, whether it be towards yourself or someone else, she'll berate you for it for an hour before actually giving you a second option or a solution. I imagine she's well-liked for being generally friendly, but sometimes disliked for being a secondary strict mother whenever someone does something remotely bad.

I think I created Lorelai simply for the sake of being an obstacle that Ayano can't convince or even converse with regularly. I get that game-wise that's really just Raibaru, but I feel like Raibaru would converse with her peers and Ayano if she wanted to. Lorelai 100% would not.

His main bit is already done in the story, and I used his character for the sake of introducing Togo Atatsuma into the story as someone that Ayano will be in contact with.

So, I suppose Lorelai is only really good for adding things to Ayano. 😰

I imagine not many folks have actually read the chapters with Lorelai, but if you're wondering why he looks like a girl, it's because he purposefully dresses like one in order to manipulate those around him. I had a smaller, separate plan for Lorelai to be someone who teaches Ayano about changing her face since he's completely unrecognizable from who he was in middle school.

Then again, that would contradict Lorelai not being someone that Ayano can convince or do favors for, which once again leaves his character empty as far as uses.

Lorelai is really just someone who values money over lives, so technically, if Togo were to pay him, Lorelai would definitely do some sort of violent work for Ayano. Likely not killing anyone, but beating up or threatening would work quite well.

I feel as though in the story, I described him and his reputation poorly, so I was pretty hesitant about posting Lorelai before having his whole character, past and future, planned out as I do most of the other characters.
