[Gunther has been walking down the hallway for a bit. He wanted to go back to his room to relax for a bit during free time. He notices the person following him and turns around.]

"...Hi." (He furrows his brow.) "I've got a bit of a strange question."

Sure, what is it? I ha-have gotten a lot of strange questions before so it will be fine.

"Do you bleed?"

[he shakes his head]

No, I don't think I can. I mean, I am made of string. I've gotten hurt a few ti-times since becoming cursed but I didn't bleed. May I ask why you want to know?

(He looks to be way more at ease now, and less confused, but distinctly sad.) "It's... It's got something to do with my curse. I can hurt people around me if they have blood to bleed." (He absentmindedly puts two fingers to the thin black choker that he wears, almost like he is checking his pulse.) "You're safe, though." (He gives a small embarrassed grin.) "Sorry, I'm Samuel Seki, but you can just call me Seki." "What's your name?"

[seeing the slightly sad expression on Seki's face, Gunther begins to fidget with one of the strings in his arm]

Oh! I'm sorry if that was an, um, uncomfortable topic. Um...

I'm Gunther! My curse is... Well you can probably guess what my curse is... Are you new here?

"No, I'm a second year." "You probably just haven't noticed me because I don't like staying around people." (He chuckles at that.) "That changes in the Plagueround, of course."

Oh, I'm a first year so I haven't met a lot of people in general

Why? What do you do in the plagueround? I don't really like being there. Didn't go well last time...

"In the plagueround, I get strength from being around other people, so I like to stay in crowds. The adrenaline means they won't get as affected by my curse, which is cool." (His eyes narrow with interest.) "What happened last time?"

Last time I went to the plagueround I got s-s-stuck in a bush. My string got tangled in the branches and thorns. Took ages to get out again...

(Samuel winces.) "Oh, that sucks. Are you made of one continuous string of yarn, or is it more like multiple?"

It's multiple! Every colour of yarn is its own string. I have purple and different shades of green, look!

[he shows Samuel the differently coloured strings in his arm]

They do get stuck on random objects I'm walking past sometimes too. But don't worry, it doesn't hurt really. It just feels weird. And its a bit uncomfortable and annoying but it's okay...

(Samuel looks at Gunther's arm with fascination.) "What happened when your curse first started setting in?"

Um, that was... That was a while ago. My skin had just felt... strange. Really itchy, like it was about to fall off. Sorry, sorry, that's probably a bit gross, sorry.

[Gunther's strings start shifting around a bit as he tenses up]

For a few days it was fine but then I woke up one morning like this. I didn't know curses existed so I was a bit, um, confused. to say the least.

[he lets out a nervous laugh]

So and an-and you? How did you get your curse?

(Red starts to seep into his blue eye.) "When I was ten, I had these horrible stomach cramps and I vomited a whole bunch of blood. When I went to get my dad, I found out he'd died of blood loss, so I ran to the ER we used to live near and they called St. Churnleys' when they heard what happened." (He fidgets with his hands, eyes boring into Gunther's buttons.) "Turns out, I absorb people's blood by being near them and when I vomit it out every month, the blood loss effects all hit them at once." "That's why I asked if you could bleed."

It was better than the one I went to before my last one. That one was not good, I took milk with me and it was a boarding school. And I think the teacher was flirting with me, it was weird.

My mum said I was going well so I thought that was due to the milkman so I made friends with the milkman and he gave me milk to carry through all my years at boarding school, I wasn't there for years though, just a short amount of time. Well, basically when I got back from that school I found my mum in a dressing gown and the milkman naked in the cupboard. Turns out the milkman was my father and now my mum and him are married and my other dad, Mr Steven, doesn't visit anymore.

Oh, um... I'm sorry. Uh, that's... a lot. Your father is the milkman that shows up here, right?

Wait, You brought milk here too??

Yeah, me and my dad are milkmen!

Yeah, that's cool, but what do you MEAN you also brought milk here??

I bring milk to all my schools. I make sure not to break the seal though.

Well, now we have Understanding class. There they teach us stuff about how curses work. Curses in general and our own.

It's, um, in a tower. Come now, we want to be there early.

I should warn you, it's, um, a bit of an unusual classroom...

I mean the classroom at my old school was quite unusual as it had a cupboard for naughty boys.

No, this classroom is, well, in a tower like I said and it's a bit... high up
