Thrown into prison for a crime she didn’t commit, all because of a plan to assassinate her (which failed)

Don’t worry; she got her revenge on those who were responsible for framing her but she still had to stay in prison to serve her false sentence... And soon she chose to not escape in order to, essentially, bring her father back to life

Like many of the series’s protagonists, Jolyne is in possession of a unique ability called a ‘Stand’; a manifestation of her power which only other Stand users can typically see. Hers is named ‘Stone Free’ and is capable of unraveling her body into versatile string

(For rp purposes, however, we can also say that if you’re finely attuned to the supernatural or to see hidden abilities, then you can see Stands, too!)

She’s pretty tough and won’t take anyone’s bs but at the same time, she is kind at heart and refuses to take anyone’s life if she can help it

She’s made a lot of friends within prison and one of them includes a sentient colony of plankton. No, she won’t elaborate

Honestly she’s been through so much! She’s been to hell and back! Please let her rest for once good lord

Blinking ever so slightly, Garry felt his smile growing more fondly at the way the woman seemed to fluster over her own outward concern; bringing the side of his hand up to rest against his mouth. He wondered if she was normally the type to keep things like that to herself, unable to hold them back now that she was here, away from those she cared about. .. at that thought, however, the man’s smile diminished ever so slightly. While it was nice to know someone had such close bonds.. it was also difficult to have them, while being away from those important people.

“I understand how you feel. I, too, left behind someone very important to me.. she’s quite young herself, though very strong and capable. While I’m glad it doesn’t seem like she’s here..” he trailed off, gaze travelling to the ground beneath his feet before he continued. “.. I often wonder if she’s truly alright where I left her.”

But as she carried on, Garry felt himself momentarily distracted from that thought; waving his hand absentmindedly.

“Ah, no, you don’t have to worry about anything like that; I’m quite new to this place, so I definitely don’t have any pressing engagements.. for the most part, I’ve just been trying to figure out what to do with each day that passes, really.”

“.. but I suppose that wasn’t your question, was it? Forgive my rambling.” As if trying to make the air between them a little lighter, he allowed himself a quiet chuckle. “In any case, it seems I only know your companion’s name, and not your own. Is there something I should call you, miss..?”

     ► Oh, so it seems he understands her sentiment well... Or at least somewhat, anyway. Though Jolyne doesn’t wish to divulge fully into her worries for her (seemingly) only alive and well ally, the stranger seems to at least understand the concern of leaving someone so young behind. It’s not as if she thinks of Emporio as incapable because he, quite frankly, is the direct opposite of that, but... He is still someone who is young and looks to those older than him for guidance.

     And it really creates a wound in her soul to know that she can’t be there as a guardian for him... Not here and certainly never again back home.

     ❝ Huh? Oh, no, you’re fine, ❞

     ❝ I’ve known people to talk way more than you and never shut the f-- hell up, even when they’re told to, ❞ she now adds, already looking annoyed at the mere memory. Soon enough though, she shakes her head and instead offers the man a more neutral look.

     ❝ Jolyne Cujoh. Just Jolyne is fine, though; no need to be so formal with me especially when I can be kind of crass, ❞ just kind of?

“Emporio..?”

The name doesn’t seem to ring a bell, clear in the way that Garry has to scrunch his face up in thought– if he saw someone like that in this world, he was sure he wouldn’t forget them, especially if they were always clad in a baseball uniform. Then again, with every other strange looking person here.. perhaps someone like that would have stuck out because they seemed almost normal.

“I’m sorry, but I haven’t seen anyone with that description.. though, I’ve only been here for a few weeks, so I can’t imagine I’ve run into everyone who’s inhabiting this place yet,” he tries to smile her way; a slight, sheepish turn of his lips as he tilts his head ever so slightly. From her manner of speech, the woman seemed to have a rather hardened exterior, but when she spoke the boy’s name.. Garry couldn’t help but catch a familiar look to her expression, one that he had held onto since leaving Ib. “He must be very important to you if you’re asking strangers for his whereabouts.”

      ► ❝ Ah, well, ❞ Jolyne rubs the back of her head now, clearly a bit embarrassed. It hadn’t been her intention to sound as concerned as she did, but... Well, she couldn’t help it. Out of everyone she knew of back home, Emporio had been the only one whose fate had been unknown to her. Quite frankly though, the ex-convict takes that as a good thing; she’d almost rather take being uncertain about the young boy’s status rather than knowing for sure that he’s been killed or something of the like.

      ❝ He’s a good kid, so... ❞

      ❝ I just wouldn’t want him to get into any trouble. From what I’ve heard thus far though, it seems like he’s not here so... I guess I can rest easy, ❞ or easier, at the very least.

      ❝ Anyways, I didn’t mean to bother you too much. Hopefully you’re not late for an appointment or something else--? ❞

     ► While she wants to say that it wouldn’t technically get on her hands because of her Stand, Jolyne refrains from doing so. Not only is she currently unable to bundle her string up together enough for Stone Free to manifest, but she also is aware that giving up such information so easily isn’t the best idea. Not right now, at least.

      ❝ Blunt end of an axe? Sheesh! That’s overkill, don’t you think? Or it could be an actual homicide if you’re not careful, ❞ she manages to say, clearly caught off guard by the comment.

He supposes it’s not unreasonable for her to have question of the the place. He’d had them himself, even though it hadn’t been his first time being taken into another universe entirely. Though really he does wonder about why she was specifically asking about jails… She’s not planning on getting trouble is she? It’s not something he can ask though, even if she presents herself open to questions.

    Ritsuka likes to believe she’s well-balanced. some mishaps aside– not always of her own doing, by the way – she wasn’t extremely clumsy nor uncoordinated. and that should allow her to be able to at least learn to ice-skate without constantly losing her balance or running right into the sands of the beach. keyword being should. 

         this is about the fourth time she’s gone careening onto the shoreline.

  she groans loudly, pushing herself up from the colorful sand to glare at the ice before her. she huffs, a strand of errant hair blowing out of her line of sight. just as she’s about to yell at the ice, the mage hears laughter from behind her. she turns, finding the source of the sound and a small grin reaches her lips. “ Enjoying the show?”

      ► She didn’t really mean to laugh at the stranger... Well, mostly. It had been rather entertaining to see her keep trying again and again at ice skating and Jolyne couldn’t help but watch the other’s efforts. While the ex-inmate herself doesn’t have experience with ice skating, she can assume it won’t be that hard to get the hang of...

     Oh, but when the redhaired stranger falls once more and looks more determined than ever, Jolyne can’t help but laugh.

      ❝ You’re pretty stubborn. I don’t know if that’s good or bad in this case, ❞ stifling her laughter, Jolyne now offers the other a more teasing look.

      ❝ I’m not too interested in the obstacle course but I did want to try ice skating for the first time. Maybe we can both help each other out by being each other’s balance pillar? Or something? ❞
